We recently drove from Huntington Beach to Four Wheel Campers in Woodland, CA for a scheduled camper transfer appointment. We even stayed overnight to make sure we could be there on time, expecting that the manufacturer and dealership would be the most qualified people to help with the process. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When issues were discovered during the transfer, including a broken turnbuckle, we were essentially told there was nothing they could do. It was surprising that the company that literally builds these campers wasn't willing or able to help resolve the problem. Instead, we were referred to a former employee for assistance. To make matters worse, we were told only one turnbuckle was broken and the other three were fine. Later, we discovered additional hardware was missing altogether--something that should have been caught during inspection. What really stood out was the difference in service we received elsewhere. After being turned away by Four Wheel Campers, we went to All Terrain Campers and they were incredibly helpful. They took the time to assess the situation, answer questions, and help us find solutions instead of sending us away. The contrast in customer service was night and day. The camper itself is fantastic, and we're excited to own a Four Wheel Camper. However, the customer service and support we received at the Woodland dealership left a lot to be desired. After driving 8+ hours for an appointment at the manufacturer's own facility, we expected a much higher level of assistance, communication, and attention to detail. read more

Update on my previous review: Had an appointment at 9am to have my camper installed. When I arrived I was told that my camper was there but left feeling something was up after an hour of waiting because the sales guy was "too busy" to get to me. Found out an hour or so later that my camper wasn't there and it will be installed two days from now. So ordered with deposit on January 16, 2026. Was promised 8-10 weeks, then told mid-may, but FWC told me it wasn't even ordered until April 2nd. Nothing but BS from these guys. Still don't have it on July 6, 2026. read more

I purchased a Project M. My first trip to Woodland Ca i talked with Eric, he was really helpful, amazing. Then I came back to set up the camper with Melanie, she was really helpful as well, amazing. It's really cool dealing with people that use and believe in their products. Then i email from Jose setting up the install, once again, amazing. The installers went over the camper with me. They walked me though popping it up the fans just everthing. Over all I'm happy camper. read more

Rewriting my review and rating after talking to the staff about my experience, please read completely for the good and bad. I truly wanted to leave a 5 star review, but fell a bit short based on factors that seemed to affect my experience. The pick up of my new Project M was scheduled for a Monday. Upon arrival, I was nicely greeted by the lobby admin, who checked me in and took my remaining balance due. After a quick once over with tech I was told I could go out to the waiting area and wait for my install to complete. Here is where things fell short.....In my mind, I thought after spending 16K on one of these pop up campers, there would be more pomp and circumstance. A greeting from management or similar greeting from anyone pumping me up about my new purchase. Instead, nobody said another word, I just sat there. To me it literally felt like I was waiting for a dental appointment. Now my son who had purchased one of these campers had a much different experience, than I did with welcoming greeting on monitor in lobby with celebratory congratulations like they were prepared for him upon arrival. After stewing over my experience and writing an early version of this review I went and spoke to Sarah (a marketing and event manager) and explained my concern over my experience. She immediately apologized and jumped into action to help me resolve my concerns I may have had. She explained that on this particular day, the normal admin was out who controls the welcome board, and the lead sales guy was out, as well as most of the senior staff was in an all day meeting. So while the circumstances seem to explain my experience I am not sure this should justify it, but hopefully this review will help train and plan to eliminate future experiences like mine. Sarah saved me and jumped through hoops to help me acquiring specialty parts for my new camper. She invited me to watch the final steps of the install from a viewing area in the shop and after the install was complete, I was given a complete walkthrough to go over my new camper with the technician. So Sarah saved my day!! As I was walking out I recognized one of the people "Eric" who I had met at one of the local Overland Expo's and explained my experience as well. He basically said the same that Sarah had explained although seemed upset as he saw I left a not so positive review but understood why I did what I did. Last, at the end of day, while my son was treated to lots of FWC merchandise/swag upon his new purchase, I was offered to buy any merchandise I wanted. It was a little pricey for me, especially after the camper purchase and the additional parts purchase. Oh well. So to wrap up...I love the camper and am excited to get out there and use it and plan to attend future FWC outings. Would I recommend FWC....... Yes of Course! read more

I'd really wanted one of these campers for years. When the project M came out, and was no longer worried I would overload my truck, I went for it. The sales person I made my purchase with was great. However, about 9 months later when my unit was finally ready, and I had handed over my check, I was dismayed by the sudden cool and unfriendly attitude I received by staff as I was expected to wait at least 5 hours in a stuffy little room for the unit to be installed on my truck. I could have at least been given some updates as to when the work would be completed. Well, I could live with that since I finally got the camper I'd been waiting for... Except, I later found the camper had a number of little defects attributable to poor craftmanship -windows with a defective locking system, and do not close completely; vapor barrier falling out of the window seams; a CO detector that malfunctioned after about 4 months; the pull-knob to fold down the back of the unit chronically falling off; a bent and dented frame piece for the bed platform. I saw another review recommending to people if they buy one of these things to go over it carefully when receiving it. Could not agree more. I suppose I could have got some of these things repaired or replaced under warranty, but I really did not want to go back to that place. read more

Not too thrilled that I spent $16k on a project m camper to find out how poorly it was put together. Concept is a great idea but with the price and time I waited for this camper I truly am disappointed with the craftsmanship. I highly suggest going over the whole thing and make sure bolts are tightened and windows secure. I made a list of things that I had to fix for reference. -Bolts loose on stationary jack mounts -Shelfs had loose bolts -Wiring to the battery came undone -Small driver side window wasn't sealed and had a huge gap. -Never shown how to operate the fan -Camper bolts to bed rail were loose -Broken bolts not removed and fixed -Rippling in plastic sheeting due to bolts being installed sideways -They only give you two extension plates for jacks -Sliding screen was loose and had a dented track. Went to add on a rack to the top of the camper months before it would be ready for delivery. Cost of rack was $1500.00 on top of the $36K price tag. I found the $250.00 change order to be a bit ridiculous. Maybe management should think about bending me over for another $250 to screw in a rack instead of screwing me. read more

Hoping we can add some light to the not-so-good reviews about old campers and service. My boyfriend and I made the trek to the nearest showroom in Rancho Cucamonga, CA after doing tons of research on pop-up campers and deciding what we wanted. Four Wheels turned out to be the best bang for our buck in what we wanted and needed in our camper. We didn't want to spend time building out our own, so went with the turnkey Hawk model. We priced out other brands, and trust me that you get the most for what you pay with Four Wheels, down to the quality and lead time for the build. We're excited for our off-road, overland adventures ahead and talk every day about how we can't wait for our camper!! The service provided by Brian and Rob in Rancho was fantastic and they were so easy to work with. Hence, the 5-star review prior to even receiving our camper :) We walked through the different options in-person with Brian and saved ourselves a trip to the tradeshow in Flagstaff simply by narrowing down on the website what we wanted then asking Brian questions on-site. He was very honest about what is needed and technically "not necessary". We trusted him and appreciated the honesty and non "salesy" approach. Looking forward to working with these guys for many years to come! If all turns out well with our camper, we will certainly be referring to friends and acquaintances! read more

Products are fine; service not so much. Four Wheel Campers are unique products for people/ not wishing to burden themselves with huge trailers or big RVs. Our 2010 Fleet on our Tacoma pickup truck has taken us many wonderful places. However, as things have gone wrong with the camper, 4WC service has let us down. We live nine miles from the factory in California, yet 4WC doesn't provide parts, repairs or service on the electrical or gas systems they sell in their campers. A search for simple parts (a propane jet for our small 3-way refrigerator) and service personnel to fix it have been most frustrating and have cost us hundreds of dollars, with no solution. We are now forced to used block ice in the $800 refrigerator for trips to remote areas. read more

Yes, my second review, but this time for service. First off, I would be happy just for the fact the Stan really is the "MAN" He is beyond helpful with everything that has been needed. I had to drop off my camper for a few repairs. The service guys were super helpful, I told them I was not in a hurry and to take there time. It did take a little longer than expected, but that was my fault. They have a new service manager, his name is Jay. When he told me that it was done, I had a problem getting up to Woodland, its a 8 plus hour drive for me. Jay, on his own, offered to meet me half way, on his time, and the Friday of Labor day weekend!!! You rock Jay, this is why FWC is the best. Stan and Jay, you guys are what make FWC what it is today. We've owned our camper for almost 3 years now after doing enough research to determine the right model for our stock truck which we had extensively modified the suspension to support a 4Wheel popup, and have taken it off-road with joy! After seeing happy kayakers enjoy the lakes we explore, we decided to have 4Wheel install roof lift assist struts to our camper so we too can bring along our kayaks on our vacation trips. Aaron and the staff at 4Wheel did an awesome install. Our visit to 4Wheel today was a positive experience from greeting to finish. My experience wasn't the best here. I ask questions and expect the same answers from each person I ask. Hearing a bunch of different things made me very weary on purchasing one. It truly sucks because I have wanted one for years. When a employee says it's going to leak.... the other one says to him you can go inside now. They stated that the camper would fit my truck. Actually it wouldn't fit and would be unsafe. Propane gas hanging out past the bumper. I asked a lot of questions after the fact. They took deposit money from me after I canceled my order on a floor model. They now have a new web site with a fitment guide they made days after my dilemma. It doesn't say a hawk will fit on my truck. They also didn't put my year and model vehicle on the work order I signed. Most likely because they knew it wasn't the right fit but wouldn't tell me. They now won't sell me the one that fits my truck because they hate me for having issues. I needed the Raven not the hawk. All they had to do was say this one isn't for you and I would have ordered the Raven. They would have had a sale and a very happy owner. Instead they pocket my money. I get it if they were building it it would make sense to lose the money but this was a floor model. As you see in the photo that's not my truck I have a 2015 super crew. I was also concerned about drilling in a aluminum bed. The aluminum is thin kinda like the new Toyota composite beds they use external tie downs on. Later I found out they could use tork lifts and not drill holes. Not one time did they guide me in that direction. As you can see I'm upset if you lost money you would be too. Hopefully things change for other people. Suck I had to be the one with these issues. read more
