Came in last weekend for lip and had heard about this place so we decided to check it out. We were greeted as soon as we came in and the server at the counter let us sample a few things as well as gave good recommendations. They have a wide array of fresh deli meat and cheeses, wines, salads and other items. We ordered the roast beef and the Cuban. Wow, both sandwiches were amazing! The roast beef has enough meat for two sandwiches. It was Julian's full of flavor. The Cuban was the best one I've ever had. The bread was brought in from Miami and you can tell that it was fresh. All the ingredients they were using were top level and you tasted it in every bite. The owner came to our table and greeted us to make sure we were having a pleasant experience. We will definitely be back. If you want a fresh tasting lunch, get here! You can even get a glass of wine or your favorite beverage with your meal!!! read more

As a local who has lived here for 30 years. I've seen both versions of four winds. And this version by far is the best. Great selection of sandwiches and sides. They also have a coffee bar, with shipped in New York cheese cake that is as good as I've ever had. The staff is also very professional and kind. I remember back in the day coming to Pensacola to visit and stopping in at Fourwinds market... back when it was just a small cheese and wine shop. There was a man with a very thick accent that would cut almost every cheese in the shop and wanted us to try it... but he did it with his bare hands...no gloves and me as a germaphobe shockingly did not want to offend him... and being the ratty little cheese lover that I am, I couldn't pass up trying all of the imported cheese he continued passing to me! That was back in the day when I still used to get sick... since I don't get sick often (i haven't had the cold or flu since 2011) I pretty much remember every time I've ever been sick! The next day, I woke up sick AF with a cold, and I knew it was because of the hand! this was many many moons ago, like 2010. Now Four Winds is full-blown specialty grocery store. The sweet man with no gloves and the accent is no longer there. But what I loved about my visit in 2025 is the girl that was letting us try the cheeses and meats was super Duper sweet!! The place had a lot of artisan items and we were in that night to buy items and wine for our charcuterie night. They don't have as many cheeses as they did back when the man with no gloves was there ... I kind of miss how raw and authentic he was even though he got me sick. Now you can get great sandwiches, which I did on the way to the beach on another one of my visits in the summer. They still have a lot of wine which HubbyStanks loves a lot. I am sad. James is gone, its under new management and they gutted the place to make it more modern...and it feels like a mini version of The Wine Store. I miss the old European charm of walking into a store crammed full of goodies to peruse...now it has some bare bones shelves with items from various countries just like other wine shops. James had a unique flare, would upsell you and show you around the shop and recommend items based on your taste buds. He remembered your name. This time, we were greeted by the new owner (I think) that assured us that the Turkey Salad was the exact same recipe as James'...and we ordered a tub and it was! Thats the saving grace and may keep this place afloat. However, when we ordered cheese, it took awhile for the employees how to figure out how to cut it well. At least 3 people took 15 minutes to cut a sliver of cheese from a wheel. I understand working out kinks but I guess I am old school and want my charm back that James brought to the table. Food is excellent, fresh and don't sleep on the fries. They have board games and comfortable seating. Fun lattes and teas. I highly recommend the dips and spreads, ask for the sampler 4 pack and try the Thai chicken, they have some great cheese spreads, buffalo chicken, baba ghanoush....all sorts of tasty items. Also, the Bread.....yum! Wide variety of cool drinks and chocolates from all over the map. This is an interesting place to shop and look at all of the different cultures of food items. I dropped in to share that the new owners, who have kept all of James' recipes but not the pushy sales style, have added fresh-cut french fries to the menu. They cook them in beef tallow so the fries have a very creamy and delicious flavor without being greasy. Which seems weird but that's the way it is, and I don't know why. I added a couple pics I snapped while sitting at my table of the fries with a little fresh ground sea salt. The WiFi is snappy so it was a nice place to eat lunch while working. The sandwiches are very good and personally I'm a fan of the spicy gyro. If you are jonesing for James he can be found less than an hour to the West in Foley at the Piggly Wiggly. If you want some of his amazing turkey salad or feta dips, they are still here for sale by friendly, clean, and non-pushy staff. read more

If I could give no stars I would! Let's start with the short chubby cashier with the glasses and ungodly amount of dandruff ALL over his shirt. Yeah that was a hard no on the feta. DISGUSTING! the service was cringy and uncomfortable, I was approached by a lady talking my ear off in my personal space and as my husband comes to "save" me she announces her self as the new owner. After my husband gets me a heavier set guy, balding red hair just kept starting at us. We left immediately. The whole visit just gave creepy vibes, no wonder the employees look the way they do. No one carries a personality in that store either. They're all so sad and mopey. The shelves were empty and dusty and basic, things that were there were things on the shelf you can get online for MUCH cheaper or right at Walmart. I don't know what's happening to this place but it has gone down hill and FAST! Four winds will be a parking lot in 6 months or on its 4th desperate owner to make it work. James is the only one who could make that store work because he knew what he was doing! These people running it don't have any inclination as to how horribly you're running that man's legacy straight into the dirt. That place used to be a staple now it's just an embarrassment. Moldy cheese, no meats, over priced wine, untrained baristas. Just close or change the name so you can start your bad reputation under your own name. How sad. Someone probably needs to call the health department in to handle some of this. read more

Such a shell of its former glory. Went for lunch about a month ago and was only the 2nd customer in the building. Ordered a few sandwiches, gyro for here, muffaleta to go. After 30 mins, I was told the Gyro meat was frozen which wasn't a big deal, and had them replace it with Turkey Salad and Asiago sandwich. Which took another 20 mins, because I don't think the cashier knew what that was. Muffaletta was missing olive salad when i got home and opened it. My daughter went a few weeks later and had the same type of experience. 2 sandwiches and over 30 minute wait when store was empty. Most of the international foods have been removed now as far as I could see and freezers were pretty bare. This was such a great shop but all the changes have seem to have hurt it now. read more

This place used to be a gem. The previous owner sold it to some people that came in and undid all of his decades of work and culture. It is truly disgraceful what they did to this place. This place is a hidden gem when visiting Pensacola. My first time here, but I'm told the place has been upgraded a lot with the new owners. The gyro was amazing, pita was delicious and the combo of tzaziki, hummus and tabouleh was delightful. Baklava was very good too. I prefer it like this with pecans rather than pistachios. New owners and new management. I really miss the prior owner, but I don't miss the spending at least $100 over my budget every time. Still, the quality of everything was always great. So, I came back to town and went to Four Winds to get my semi-annual supply of olive salad (absolutely great in just about anything) and being around lunchtime, I ordered the warm salmon sandwich. You guessed it- w olive salad and cream cheese. The sandwich roll was fresh and the whole sandwich was truly fabulous. Melt in your mouth salmon with the olive salad mixed in w the cream cheese. Four Stars for Four Winds. If you are looking for amazing tasting unique salads and sandwiches fresh made daily this is definitely your place. The food definitely gets 5 stars- you can sample anything in the deli case but you can get easily persuaded into buying more than you came for. That being said you have to be firm in the amount you want and watch how much gets spooned into your container or it will be packed to the top and more scooped and then Saran wrapped shut. Used to be the greatest store. I would spend $80 or more every week now don't even like the store since the new owner took over here a while back change the entire environment . No more care for of the foods that were great to have and hard to get .jacked up the prices And change a lot of the recipes heartbreaking. We were looking forward to visiting with high expectations. The variety in the store was outstanding however there is no pricing on any of the deli items. A loaf of bread was $5.99. We had no idea what our items would total until we went to the register and then all labels, put on the items by the deli person were removed by the cashier. We bought a loaf of bread, two medium containers of deli items, 1/4 pound of German ham, 1/2 pound of olives, 2 pieces of baklava, total $56. If there was a specialty item that I needed, I would go there to look for it, but know you will be pressed to purchase items that you didn't come in for. read more

My husband and I really love this place. We have to force ourselves to have a budget before we go in because we want so many things. They provide samples and let you taste all of their delicious treats which really make you want more. They have an excellent assortment of Mediterranean goods. Their tabouli is off the chart. We were at world market today and overheard a few people discussing "Four Winds", which we had never heard of before... after inquiring for more info on this place they were discussing we got the details and were heavily warned of spending far more time then money and be heavily coerced into purchased if you showed weakness alongside being charged for samples if you didn't purchase the sampled item. I gotta say, we didn't experience any of that, all the staff including the owner were very nice and welcoming, we tried a few of the samples the artichoke and feta dip was incredible and the sample sold me on a container to bring home. We ordered the muffuletta and the gyro to split and both were magnificent, I'd highly recommend! The owner especially does push the products a little strong, but with good reason anything we tried was incredible! I'd just consider him a strong businessman! He is receptive after a few "no thank you's" Certainly not the cleanest or most organized deli/store I've been to, but if you've been to any urban city markets, you've definitely been in much worse establishments! TL/DR: Vast array of prepacked/sealed foods... and abominable health conditions. NEVER EAT HERE and don't buy anything unless it's sealed! This establishment had been recommended a number of times by friends and acquaintances in the area. And entering the market, I could see why (mine eyes doth deceive), because there was an incredible amount of international items on display, including hard-to-find beers and many different spices, herbs, and condiments. BUT (and this is a butt big enough for Sir Mix-a-Lot), I will never eat anything from here again that isn't pre-packaged or with the seal unbroken. It took more than 25 minutes to make our two sandwiches and get our two small containers of dips. The super-slow service is not the issue. The cleanliness of the preparation was - or, rather, THE COMPLETE AND TOTAL LACK OF IT. I was, at one time, a certified Food Service Manager. I know how food is supposed to be stored and prepared. Here's a short list of the most egregious health code violations that I saw in that 25 minutes... but be aware, this is nowhere near a complete list. 1.) NO ONE WAS WEARING GLOVES WHILE PREPARING FOOD. The owner(?) even dipped into the tabouleh AND hummus WITH THE SAME PIECE OF BREAD with no gloves on to provide a sample for another shopper. I almost threw up in my mouth, seriously. I don't honestly know how I was able to eat the gyro he made for me after watching that and then seeing him 'squish' the gyro together with his bare hands. I must've been super-hungry. 2.) USING SLICER TO CUT MEAT AND CHEESE W/O WASHING BETWEEN. I can't even tell you how much cross-contamination there was in this place, this was just the tip of the iceberg. 3.) MEAT/CHEESE/ETC "STORED" ON COUNTER WITH NO REFRIGERATION. I can't say how long they'd been out on the counter, but any length of time is too long (barring taking out a tray, removing the needed items and then putting the tray back in). 4.) MULTIPLE BUCKETS (like, *actual buckets from Home Depot*) NOT SECURELY COVERED/SEALED WITH PERISHABLE FOOD (olives?) IN THEM. These were just sitting on a pallet on the floor with ill-fitting (or not at all fitting) plastic covers tossed onto them (at best). I get a bit nauseated just thinking about going back in this place. It doesn't matter whether the food was good or bad if you get terribly sick from eating it - and the fact that I didn't just proves I've used up all the luck I had coming to me. DO NOT EAT HERE. If you buy anything, make sure it's still sealed. I will never go anywhere near this place again, though, regardless of their selection. Some things are just not worth the cost. read more
