Just received an "estimate" of work "needed to be done on my wife's vehicle, a 2018 RDX with 50,000 miles and meticulously maintained. Here it is: 1) 4 wheel alignment - $120 (just did it at Belle Tire for $89 and all within specs) 2) Battery Service - $49.50 Service advisor said there was corrosion, and they would clean and seal it. (This is a new battery, not original) I should have had him show me, I checked at home it was spotless. If not, baking soda, water and a toothbrush fixes this for free. 3) Brake Flush - $189 (if getting a total brake job this is good) but can be done cheaper by $60 elsewhere) 4) Brake Job (front) $609 - Independant shop verified front brakes are good for another 20-25k miles. Not necessary at this time 5) Rear Brake - Replace Pads and Rotors - $460. (We had a seized caliper) the brake job "quote" doesn't mention replacing calipers so assuming that will be extra in the end. Had them replaced elsewhere for $800 with lifetime guarantees on calipers and brake pads, anything goes wrong they replace it for the cost of labor. Dealership offers no such guarantee FYI. 6) Cabin Air Filter (and my favorite) $56 - I watched a you tube video, bought the filters on amazon for $15 for 2. And did it in 4 minutes. DO NOT PAY for that here.....EVER! 7) Coolant flush - 50k miles? Nope. Not needed. Will do it when I have the RDX tuned up, plugs, belts, probably when the car is 7 years old. (and it will be done elsewhere). 8) EFI Injector (Fuel injection cleaning service) $243 - That is why Hot Shot Secrets makes phenomenal fuel system cleaners for $20. Nope, pass. 9) Rear Differential Service - $155. - I just had this done HERE at 34,000 miles now they are pushing it again? Differentials don't need servicing between 50-70k miles. (we bought it used, so we wanted to get it done to know it has been done). But we CERTAINLY did NOT need it again. 10) Tire Balance and Rotate - $90 - FYI if you buy tires from Belle Tire, they do this for FREE every 5,000 miles. We will NOT be doing anything here in the future and please know we will tell EVERYONE who will listen about our experiences here. WOW... read more

Hard to believe we are talking about the same service center. We have a 17 year old Acura TL and have had nothing but high quality, prompt service (it is still working!), Just traded in a 2005 MDX that had its service at Ann Arbor Acura: always prompt and effective. Stacy has been very helpful and took about an hour to orient me to the electronics. Wonderful people, pleasant waiting area with comfortable chairs, TV and great beverages. Quiet areas for getting work done and computer use. Nice to have car washed for all repair services. They are very nice about my husband preferring to do some of the simple maintenance himself. I bought a used 2015 RDX here in late 2016 and it was a refreshing experience. No pressure, just helpful, polite and knowledgeable assistance. So I was already happy with this dealership. Now that I've had over a year of service experience with them, I'm even happier with this dealership. Jim (service manager) is patient, professional and trustworthy. I was relieved to find he remained when the dealership changed hands because I never feel like he or his team pushed extra maintenance - just what I need and on time (or early!). And this week Nicole went above and beyond to get parts ordered quickly and ensure my service experience was hassle free. This is the first time I took my car for oil change at Ann Arbor Acura. I have been going to Suburban Acura for years even though I live in Ann Arbor. Partly is because some of the bad reviews and also I already good derived from Suburban. So I didn't bother to look elsewhere. I needed to change my oil the today and Suburban was not able to fit me in so I decided to try Ann Arbor Acura and if they messed up the oil change then it confirmed the reviews. I am happy to say that Ann Arbor Acura provided me with the same good service as Suburban. Jim was able to get me out quickly and the sales staffs there were friendly. I bought my 2014 Acura MDX here last year and I cannot explain to you how many problems I have had. The location itself and staff members are friendly, yes. But every time I bring my car in for a service, something goes wrong. First brought the car in for a oil change, i asked them about my shocks and my headlights since the ride was not as smooth as I thought. My headlights were very low, they did not light up the road as well so I asked them to move the lights up a little higher. Being a bigger car, I understand that if I went too high to a certain extent then I would be high beaming others, so I made sure that I told them that I didn't want them that high. Maybe a few centimeters higher. My keyless entry had an added automatic starter on it. The starter does not work in front of my house, but will work everywhere else 90% of the time. I asked about that as well. They did not fix it, and they did not offer to replace it. I got my car back and when I went on the road, the headlights were so high up that it didn't even light the ground, it just looked like I was high beaming everyone, and well. I was very upset. When I spoke to them regarding the rough ride, they put my tire pressure to 40 all around and then they told me to ride in "comfort mode". Made the ride even worse. 2nd- I had my window smashed, and I got it replaced there. I paid the full price. Once I got my car back, I found out my window seal broke. So I had to bring it back once again. I ALSO NOTICED that my brand new window wipers that I has professionally replaced was bent! This just threw me off. It worked right before I brought it in, but then I got my car back and it was Bent?! I'm not even talking about the replaceable wiper either, I'm talking about the whole wiper arm. And it's on the driver side door! To all who live in Michigan should understand Michigan weather. It's raining right now, and as my husband and I are driving home, I'm worried about our safety since my dang wiper is bent and I can't wipe away the rain. This was the last straw. I'm never coming here ever again. I felt so played after giving them so many chances. Great staff, but I question the service crew. I really enjoy Acura, but this makes me just want to resell my car since I've had so many problems within the car itself. Keyless remote, starter, stiff shocks, rough ride. Everything. I just received correspondence from Acura financial that I'm being charged a $371 lease turn-in fee. While I was clearly negligent in thoroughly reading the contract and signed at the bottom, I am very disheartened by this. I've been leasing vehicles every 2-3yrs for over 20 years (two of which were Acuras) and have never been charged a turn in fee. I can tell you with 100% certainty this fee was not specifically brought to my attention during the signing of the paperwork, because I would not have agreed to it. At the time I leased the Acura, there were some shady things going on. Days after I leased the car I was told the sales manager was let go and I all of a sudden was sent a refund check because more money was charged to me than what was supposed to be. Now in light of this turn in fee that was slipped in, I feel completely duped by your dealership and by Acura. For this I will never do business with your dealership again. I sent two different people at the dealership an email about this, giving someone an opportunity to make this right but no one was bothered to respond. Another thing, I turned in my Acura a month ago and your dealership keeps harassing me with emails and phone calls about making arrangements to turn in my vehicle. Clearly you guys need to get your act together. read more

I stopped in on Saturday to test drive a TLX, and I have to say, it was a pretty great experience. The sales guy was nice without being at all pushy. He knew a lot about the car, and when we got back, he had a legit question for the sales manager. They both knew I had a busy day, and we had reasonable numbers going in just a couple of minutes. There was no "What can I do to make you take this car home today?" nonsense, or attempts to keep me from going to other dealerships (and they knew I was going to look at a Q50 and 3 Series). As Acura dealers go, they're probably the nicest sales people in Metro Detroit. Although I did buy my car at another dealer, it was not because anything negative happened here. In terms of service, I have to say that I was beyond impressed. When I called to ask for pricing on an accessory, the price they gave me on the phone was the price on the service order. Stacy is unquestionably the nicest service advisor I've ever met. Their service lounge is outstanding. Business friends, enjoy the fast wi-fi, Aeron chairs, mini-fridge loaded with soft drinks and juice, free apples and healthy snacks... I'm here with my laptop and it's actually a bit nicer than my office. For the "I want to sit and watch TV" folks, they have you covered with nice leather chairs and satellite TV. I've been here just over an hour, and just overheard someone say my car's done. By comparison, I've been at dealers who have taken longer than an hour after my appointment time just to get my car in the garage. read more

Just awful. Own 2 Acuras. Lots of problems here. Last routine oil change, their car wash pulled loose rubber trim around the windshield. They refused to do anything about it. Sent my wife home home with a piece of rubber obstructing her driver's view. Worst service in my 30+ years experience throughout the midwest. Switching to Farmington Hills, they'll pick up your car in Ann Arbor. read more

The service manager is not friendly. I had bought an acura late of 2012 loved it, the center console started to bubble up. I took in they expressed only party not leather and it wasnt ripped just bubbled up. Later it ripped. They claimed it happens a lot gave me an upholstry number said it would be cheaper. Wow, didnt cover warrenty, Im a pretty busy guy found time the upholstry place they gave me doesnt do cars! Wow gave me a number for someone who doesnt do cars. Next oil change can do for 220.00 fix it, the next one got quoted 700.00. It looks horrible and customer relations tried to help me out but Service manager just trys to say buy a new car and we will give 500.00 off. Wow what a joke. I was going to always be a loyal honda, acura buyer but not after dealing with Nicole, unless something changes soon. read more

This is only because you can not give less than 1 star. I am a car guy!! Love them, work on them, and own them.. Total of 6 Acura's, have owned more Honda's, new, used and so forth... Anyway, i just happened to be in getting some parts and overheard Nicole the service manager, come tell a customer what their vehicle needed as far as maintenance, I was appalled to hear the way she described a maintenance item as a "safety priority" and stated that it needed to be done, just to safely drive the vehicle, service may feel obligated to show responsibility to the company to point things out, so they don't get sued if something possibly did happen, yet was almost demanding that the Acura get fixed immediately, or it should not be driven... Any other shop... And there are lots, could have quoted these people for this same work and with the original Acura parts, at a substantial amount less, a second opinion never hurts! I feel terrible for the hard working good individuals who suffer by the end result of having to deal with their service department... It used to be MUCH better, as I have taken my own vehicles to them in the past. I am Glad Ann Arbor has a pretty darn good Honda store. They can service Acura's too.. If it's a warranty issue, like he airbag that we just got notification on... (They expanded the Taccatta recall), I will call another Acura store for help.. read more

The dealer that makes a luxury car look like cheap used car. We bought the car at night and asked for gray but they gave us a silver model. The new mdx has its own issues being dirty and this rubber piece by all windows falling off. Then they mess up on my paperwork and send the statement to wrong place. They mess up on the down payment not being processed. And they asked for me to sign a new contract, which I didn't. All my years with Honda and my parents experience with Honda was the best. So I thought I should give Acura a chance and this dealer just ruins the whole experience. I would drive few more miles and go to other Acura dealer because this one will most-likely go out of business again with the new owner.. read more
