We had a terrible infestation of moles tunneling and leaving mounds all over our front lawn in Albany NY. I found Fox Pest Control via Exterminator Pros as the "local Albany" co. They offered next day service - (already Oct. 1 here). I had already had another pest control company that had come to inspect and suggested fumigation. I asked about fumigation, and the Fox guy kept repeating "Fumigation is for insects". I then thought I understood that he was offering bait and trap instead. (I had done my research and am not at all naive or dumb!). I asked a lot of questions. I also understood that it was a 1 yr. contract, so that if they didn't succeed, they would continue to return for the next year under the very expensive contract price if moles returned. I decided to go with Fox to get rid of the moles asap and they said they could get someone there tomorrow. He sent me a contract within an hour. NY state phone no., and email that was @Albany. But when I read the contract, it said I was paying the price of for initial visit and only 2 follow ups? Contract listed the chemicals to be used, and I looked them up - they were all various, mostly commercially available insecticides? Not killer bait for moles? Contract also stated that it would automatically renew at the end of the one year contract unless I cancelled in writing? Who was I to write to? Info not provided. Was I supposed to sign the email pdf and return prior to the work to be done the next day? No way.... Called him back to ask about these things, but could not reach. He was given the message and texted me back that the guy coming the next day would go over the contract with me. Then I recontacted with first pest control co., and decided to cancel with Fox. I called Fox, told he was not there, probably at lunch - lunch at 3:30 pm? Was told "Oh, because we are in Utah!" Not so local... I asked to have him call me, then sent email to him at his @Albany address, and texted him at his NY area code tel. no. that I was canceling. Never heard back. He was convincing and I felt was also misleading. Apparently he kept interrupting my fumigation comments/questions and repeating "Fumigation is for insects" to divert the conversation because Fox is not licensed to do mole fumigation? I would not recommend using Fox, but if you do: READ the contract carefully! Do NOT sign on the email pdf contract and return! And don't let them go ahead until ALL your questions are candidly answered! read more

This company is terrible. We live in a community that clearly states at each entrance "No Soliciting" and for the last 3 years Fox has been in here soliciting! We have told them several times that they are not welcome in our neighborhood, they ignore us and keep coming back. AGAIN they are here soliciting and the guy I just spoke to had a "Route Manager" badge on. His name is Chad. He acknowledged that he is not to be here but kept right on going down the street to other neighbors. Horrible experiences with this company. Their sales tactics include ringing your doorbell late at night, early in the morning, or generally whenever they feel like it. Aggressive, pushy salespeople. No vehicle in sight- just a random person with a clipboard who will likely tell you your neighbors use his services (which I doubt). Don't think for a second that this company doesn't know what their salespeople are doing. I would give zero stars if possible. This company has harassed me and my family for four straight years. I have repeatedly called this company to stop their solicitation at my door. They continued. I've put up non soliciting signs. They continued. I've threatened to call the police for trespassing. They continued. They knock on my door at all hours. My most recent experience was my wife asking them to leave and the solicitor stood there badgering her after she kindly asked to leave 4 times!! She had to threaten to call the police to get him to leave. He then had the audacity to demand my wife give him a glass of water. And even after she shut the door on him, he stood on my lawn making phone calls and jotting notes before finally leaving after a few minutes. My front door camera recorded the entire exchange. If ANY EMPLOYEE FROM FOX PEST CONTROL steps on my property EVER again they will be greeted with a prompt call to authorities for trespassing. read more

Door to door sales man harassed me about getting the services. I was home by my self when the guy comes up to my house my husband wasn't home and it was just me. I answer the door and he yells "HELLO" after I open the door. I say I not installed and he starts yelling at me to get the service. By this point I'm pretty pissed. I closed the door and he leaves. I thought it was over but I wasn't. I went out later and I got a text from him saying he was at my house. I told him to leave and that interaction caused me to get a security system with 30 cameras and a camera door bell. He was super creepy. DO NOT ANSWER THE DOOR FOR HIM. You need to get this guy off the streets. He yelled so loud at my Neighbors house I could hear it as if he was yelling in my ear. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM FOX. They definitely cold call and hard sell and take your money. I was sold a service and not told until afterwards that there was a 2 year contract (yes, I know read the fine print before signing, but Wes the salesperson was very pushy and caught me at a bad time). When I tried 3 times to call to cancel the contract within 2 hours of signing I was on hold each time for over an hour only to reach their voicemail. I left a voicemail stating that I did not want to continue with the contract and to not send a technician out until I spoke with someone, but they sent someone out anyway who treated the home while I was not there. I have now cancelled the contract (within the 3 days) but am stuck with paying for the treatment and a cancellation fee of $225; a total of over $400. Even got a sign because of your reps that says no Soliciting on my porch and they still continue to come. They ring the bell as late as 830:/9 at night and come by multiple times a day. Very disappointing. Told technician of insect pest inside house and was told to wait it out. Representative stopped and asked about service. Told him we were still having issues, and he said he'd look in to it... never heard back. Had to go to hardware store and purchase pesticides, and mouse traps myself. On top of their monthly billing that was not disclosed at time of sign up. Still have a bait trap in the yard (since winter) that our dog and daughter play in. read more

I don't think their product works and I don't think they show up when they say they will. I had them for about a year and I was not happy with the service. I called for a manager several times and nobody ever called back. This was also someone going door to door to sell their product when the company is actually an hour away. We had about a year contract with Fox. It was fine at first. However when our contract was up they automatically signed us up for year without notice. More recently they billed us and indicated they provided service when they hadn't. We knew this as we were home that day and they never showed. When we called them to advise they said we had to prove no one had come and they believe their employee over the customer. We ended up having to pay over $100 for a service we never received. We also asked to have the service cancelled at which point they hung up on us. read more

Extremely unprofessional salespeople. They're well known in my neighborhood for soliciting door to door whether they have a solicitor's license or not. They use the excuse that they "were working in the neighborhood" and thus get to go door to door (no they don't). They do NOT take no for an answer. They repeatedly come back despite me saying NO. Every salesperson is disrespectful. It's obvious they train them to do the following things. They never use the doorbell. I have a chime that is calm so my dog doesn't get upset and worked up. They ALWAYS ignore the doorbell and knock on the WINDOW until I respond. Completely disrespectful. When I answer through the intercom and say I'm not interested they don't leave. Yesterday was the last straw. I said through the intercom "I'm not interested" and they stood there saying "How do you know you're not interested?" "What aren't you interested in." Meanwhile my dog is barking up a storm because he's knocking on our window. I'm in a zoom meeting for work and I could NOT get this person to leave using the intercom. I had to leave the meeting, go downstairs, go outside, and order the person to leave my property. I will NEVER use this company. They are completely disrespectful. read more

I was a loyal customer for 4 years when I went to cancel (became too expensive) my quarterly charge of $203 had been charged within the last 24 hrs and service not scheduled to be completed for a few weeks but after arguing with company on the phone ultimately told me because the charge was done could not refund money. Apparently 4 years of loyalty doesn't matter to their 30 day cancellation policy even when the service has not been performed yet and is not scheduled for several weeks in the future. Services were good when I had them but this is very disappointing. read more

These people are hustlers, pure and simple. They charge a 250$ fee for early termination of contract. We signed up via phone, and we were not informed of this. They do not return phone calls. They do not call you back after pressing 9 to be put in queue for a call back. They do not respond to emails. They claim they perform services that they do not perform, for instance, a foundation inspection, for which the guy walked down the driveway. Last I checked there were 4 sides to a foundations. I would rather learn to coexist with insects than have anything to do with these people ever. read more

UPDATE FULL RESOLUTION BY SERVICE MANAGER AT FOX: I just got a call back from Jeremiah the Service Manager at Fox. He was definitely much more helpful. He cancelled my contract and the bill for August so MY BALANCE IS $0 NOW AND MY CONTRACT IS CANCELLED TODAY. It'a such a relief to get some compensation for the problem. I had only requested cancellation for September but he also gave me a credit for August that I did not request. He really made my day and my lawn has never looked better! Jeremiah explained that an outside company manages the marketing so they don't have control over the salesmen (usually temporary student hires), but he's pretty sure the marketing firm has the necessary permits to solicit. One final note: the contract allows 3 days to cancel after you sign so if you need the discounts for contracted services for a long term issue make sure you read the contract carefully. If office staff give you a hard time ask for a call back from the Service Manager. BEWARE FOX PEST CONTROL They will hard sell you then not deliver the services in the contract without follow up from you. They also do not cancel contracts when the initial period ends even when you request it by phone 30 days in advance. I had a 2 year contract July 2021-23. In March the technician did not check the mole infestation which was the primary reason for my contract. In May I discovered the moles had taken over my yard so I called to alert them and cancel my contract. Although they did perform the necessary services in May, they did not note my request to cancel the contract as soon as it ended. Now I am being billed for 2 additional months which I can't really afford now. You have to cancel in writing or the contract & billing continue. Cancellation takes 30 days notice. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID FOX PEST CONTROL'S HARD SELL & EXPENSIVE CONTRACTS. There are several other reliable companies that provide the same services as needed. So far I've had good results with Northeast Pest Control (carpenter bees & termites) and Upstate Pest & Wildlife Control. read more

I had a very bizarre experience with Fox Pest Control. An employee came to my door telling me I could get a service discount since Fox was working all over my neighborhood, yet there were no vehicles with a Fox logo anywhere, and no evidence of work being done. I took down their phone number in case I wanted to hire them and asked that they not come back to the door. It took three tries to simply get a phone number, as this person was very determined to come back the next day. Sure enough, the next day the same kid came to my door while I was at work, my wife answered the door, and he asked her questions about what floor we lived on and what hours of the day we worked. This alarmed me. It sounded very peculiar. I called Fox's main number, and asked to confirm that the person going door to door was indeed a Fox worker, and not someone casing my house. The man on the line sounded nervous. I told him what the kid said his name was, and asked to confirm they had an employee with that name. It was a quite uncommon name. The man on the line said they had a worker with that name, and went on to describe someone who was the exact opposite of the kid at my door. I told him that and described what the kid really looked like, and he responded "oh, I haven't met him yet. We must have two [name]s working here." In my opinion, the chances of a smaller company having TWO employees with this name seem awfully slim. I called back and chose their other extension, one that supposedly connects you to the office in charge of business in your specific zip code, and again asked to confirm that they indeed had solicitors in my area. Again, the woman on the line began stammering and seemed nervous. She said she didn't know, even though she's in charge of my particular area. She told me she'd have a manager call me back, and that has yet to happen. This company seems extremely sketchy to me. I was never even given a straight answer confirming it was really one of their workers coming to my home a total of three times. I would not let people like that inside my home. Besides, who even does door to door sales in 2022? I would recommend choosing another company, because with Fox Pest Control, the only pests you want to remove are their solicitors. (It's interesting to note that the person who came to my house was driving an unmarked sedan, not a company truck or van , and drove away after leaving my property each time he came... he never went to another door.) read more

After spending 45 minutes looking at my yard, talking to me about how they would be able to help me with an ant infestation in the lawn, the tech arrived to provide the first service, only to tell me they only do household services and not lawns. So they sold me the service knowing it was not what I needed, and they don't do what I was asking for. The treatment was very basic, I usually do the same thing for myself every year for under $30, only it cost me $267.50 with Fox Pest. Eager to sell me something to gouge me with a huge fee, even though it was not something I needed. Not pleased and feeling ripped off. read more

A representative from Fox Pest Control (who cannot read a sign) came to my home loudly knocking on my door at 9am on a Saturday. He woke me up I answered the door and asked him to leave and showed him the sign. So, at 3pm he again came to my home knocking on my door! I was not as courteous as I was the first time. I told him FIRMLY this time to leave and not come back again. These people are ridiculous and sending out employees for unwanted solicitations. I will definitely be contacting the company and following up with the town of Colonie. This kind of aggressive sales is uncalled for especially if there is a sign clearly posted to not bother a homeowner. I believe they are a shady company and extremely unprofessional. in April 2021 Fox Pest Control completed a total exclusion for mice in my home. As part of the contract there was a warranty to address any issues of "re-entry of the target animal". Starting in September I saw evidence of mice in the home and could hear mice in the walls in several different locations. I have also caught a total of six mice in the traps I have set since mid September. I have contacted the company on three different occasions and each time was told "management would reach out to me". I have not heard back from anyone. Clearly customer service is not important to this company and they do not honor their warranty. read more

Fox Pest control is a questionable company at best, especially when considering not only their sales practicies and tactics, but also their billing practices. To begin, one of their multiple sales representatives, which get shipped up from Utah, approached me last summer at my home as they were going door to door attempting to recruit customers. I typically never speak to folks soliciting business in this manner but I will admit the guy was extremely pleasant to talk to and really wanted to plead his case. I foolishly obliged.I listened to his whole schpeel about how Fox Pest Control would be the answer to my pest problems. I asked some hard hitting questions to test the depths to his knowledge, such as what control methods they utilize for mice. The sale representative either was confused as to their actual control practicies, or he just told me what I wanted to hear, but I'll touch on this more later. He "cut me a break" by saying I could sign with them for just one year, instead of the two year contract he was pushing. I signed. Regarding the actual service, I didn't have much problem with it outside of the fact that any homeowner could seemingly do what they do for less money. I mistakenly thought that they would be more comprehensive in evaluating a home for pests. Instead, they just sprinking granula material around the house and spray the perimeter. Also, one of the reasons I signed is because I wanted a professional company to attempt to mitigate the mice problem in my attic. When I originally signed the contract, I specifically asked them what control method they utilize for dispatching mice. I did not want the mice to be poisened, only to later die within my walls or attic. I was told they did not use that method. When the actual service tech showed up, he pretty much said that they can put bait traps up there in the attic with poison. Needless to say, I did not want that. Outside of that, the rest of the contract period went fine. They were always on time and prompt. Service technician was always clean and very mindful when inside the house. No complaints there. Towards the last few months of my contract, I did not want to continue service with Fox Pest Control past my original contract period. I called them twice to ensure they understood this because they specifically note that unless you call and cancel, they will continue to bill you and put you on a regular customer schedule. After two calls and assurances that this information was notated on my account, I felt good once the final service was completed. Low and behold, I wake up today to a charge to my credit card for a service visit, one they actually hadn't even performed yet, outside of my contract period. I couldn't believe it. I specifically told them I was done and did not want to continue. I called them immediately and had to leave a message even though they were supposedly open. I left a message requesting a callback. Towards noon, I hadn't heard anything so I called them again and got a representative who apparently couldn't close out my account/issue the refund and I would need to be transfered to a customer retention specialist. Keep in mind, I already went through this rigamarole the last time I spoke with them and they tried to schmooze me into staying. I had none of it this time and demanded my account be closed permanently, and that I did not want to see another charge on my account or I would be taking further action against Fox Pest Control. I was told that because I was considered a loyal customer, that's why they kept my account active and would offer me free services for the next however many months. I said "The way you treat loyal customers is to bill them after they told you they do not want to continue services?" I think that says it all. Shady company. One last thing. They aren't even allowed to solicit for business in the town I live in. They did not take the proper steps to become authorized for recruiting customers in the manner in which they do. Fox pest control representatives came to our door yesterday to offer an inspection, he said he was working in our neighborhood. I heard my husband tell him 3 times we weren't interested. It was annoying to have someone show up at our door, unsolicited, unmasked and unwilling to take a firm no. There was a whole message thread in our town's Nextdoor app devoted to Fox being all over the Bethlehem area knocking on doors to drum up business, not wearing masks and being pushy and resistant to taking no for an answer. Consider yourself warned: do not do business with this company. I signed up for an annual contract in July 2021 and emailed them in May 2022, informing them I did not intend to renew. I was told to call back and cancel on 7/7/2022 as they had no way of canceling a contract early. Really? Called on 7/7/22 and was assured my annual service was cancelled. Was told, "but we'll keep your account open just in case you need us in the future." When I specifically asked if I was going to be charged, I was told "no." Imagine my surprise when my credit card was charged today (7/8/22) for a service I cancelled!!! It's also interesting this company requires you to call to discuss your contract so there is no written record of your conversation. read more

I write this review with a very heavy heart as I am so upset and disappointed in the handling and outcome of my experience with the Administration of Fox Pest Control. First let me say the Technicians were very polite and tried to be helpful and do a good job. Second let me say that from the start of my (what was suppose to be a 1 year contract) there was double talk on Ticks!! The most important reasons for joining them was to have the yard sprayed for ticks and to keep mice out of the lawn tractor shed. I was definitely told we were covered for tick spray. The original spraying was at the same time that I signed the agreement that included both. The following month when they arrived I inquired about tick spray and was told "no that it extra" which every time they came, I asked again and was told the same answer. The original contract was absolutely stated that they would NOT automatically sign me up at the end of the contract. They have continued to charge me even though I have called and called to straighten it out. The last call was totally unacceptable as the person on the other end absolutely refused to listen to me! She just talked and talked over me. Consequently I have paid one month over my year contract and even though I have tried desperately to stop it, NO HELP AT All. I was told since I gave the Technician a 5 Star rating I must like Fox. (The technician took the time to try and explain that the yard had been sprayed for ticks. Complete double talk for the Company. the Supervisor was informed, her comment was that we were covered for ticks. I asked if I would be compensated for the lack of not being sprayed for ticks and a resounding NO! Then I was informed "oh yes, we have been spraying for ticks all year!" Not! The gentleman that signed us up was very convincing to sign on the line. We are old and on a fixed income and the worst news of all is that I am very down and out with LYME! and the tractor wires were eaten by mice and cost hundreds of dollars to fix! I am at a loss as to what to do, if nothing else I hope it gets their attention and do not do this to some other unsuspecting older couples. All I want is to be rid of FOX forever! read more
