If you are Looking for great care for your eyes in Redding there are a few good choices, but in my…read morehumble opinion, Riverside Eyecare is the best. They are located in a beautiful building on the banks of the Sacramento River adjacent to Cypress Ave in Redding. The facility is large, clean, modern, and well laid out. On the bottom floor are the physicians, Ophthalmologists, Dr Michael Sumsion and Doctor Sean Sumsion. Not only are both of these guys great physicians, their bedside manner and interaction with patients and family is fantastic. Very down to earth, patient, and happy to explain things. I have seen both of these docs, and I would put them as some of the best. For reference I see physicians at both UCSF and Stanford and this practice is at that caliber of professionalism and competence. Upstairs is the Optometrist, Dr. Jordan Evans. He is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is so kind and patient. I was trying to switch from just eyeglasses to Contact Lenses and my experience with him and his awesome staff was phenomenal. They were not in a hurry to move me through, they took the time to educate me, ensure that everything fit right, on multiple appointments. The bedside manner, caring, and interaction are all outstanding in my humble opinion. I am definitely a fan!

Lacee was the absolute best ...she was so kind and professional…read more and deserves a huge raise that other woman with the wild 4 foot long long unkempt hair was rude and bossy to me ...what a rude egotistical creature !!! she should put her hair up ..it looked very tacky, very dirty , flying all over the place & she was extremely unprofessional & rude.. I pity the housekeepers who have to clean up all of her wild hair that she flaunts, yet she has no consideration for anyone else or who has to deal with her hair always in the way & no doubt her long hairs are all over the place .. it does not matter if her co workers like her, she is egotistical, rude & bossy to the patients & exhibits no kindness or human compassion My eyes had been dilated and are very sensitive to the bright light anyway , but she barged in with no kindness or consideration for my ptsd, and my injuries and light sensitivity ,,, she demanded that the lights be bright even though I asked her to keep them down and the dr. was not even there yet .. & then the dr. threatened to not see me for being rude to his staff, when that female with the crazy wild four feet long unkempt unprofessional hair was way too rude and bossy, I have rights to be treated with respect, and courtesy and she was neither to me, more like the wicked witch of the west, and then for the dr. to reprimand me , a senior close in age to him when he did not even ask me what happened, which was also wrong ... I stuck up for myself, I told him I have rights...I did not cuss at her ot r threaten her, but she did not like it that I spoke up for myself Some of the employees were very nice but that bossy one with the ridiculous 4 feet long untamed insane hair, needs to learn to be humble and respectful of others, especially her elders ... and the doctor needs to be humble too & not be so bossy either.. I dont care if it is his office... I have the right to be treated well and Lacee treated me very well, she should get the exact pay of the dr. because she was way nicer and she did all the work ...you people get paid a lot, the least you could do is not get on your high horse and show some kindness love and human compassion & dont accuse your clients and threaten us when someone in your staff needs more training & a serious attitude adjustment //// Dont mess with the proud daughter of a brave WWII ARMY SOLDIER ..show some respect... you can have all the degrees in the world , but if you are not kind considerate loving & humble, you have nothing

While several staff members were courteous and professional, aspects of the exam were concerning. While waiting for the appointment, I became overwhelmed by the level of noise and conversation in the clinic by staff. Staff gossiping about patients, one another, etc... Just like hens in the henhouse ... I thought about leaving. During my exam, I was met with comments by DR. BAGGA such as, "Why do you have your eye closed?" and, "You should be able to see -- it's only an irritated eye; you just need saline." I am on General Assistance and cannot afford an eye lubricant. In addition, there were noticeable exchanges of side glances between DR.BAGGA and other staff, which conveyed JUDGEMENT t rather than support. These behaviors, though subtle, had a significant impact on my sense of safety and comfort during the exam. I share this not to criticize the entire practice, but to encourage greater awareness and sensitivity toward patients who may be experiencing sensory overload. DR. BAGGA a more mindful and respectful communication style would greatly improve the patient experience. I left ... and I STILL cannot afford an eye lubricant. I will NOT be back for care.
