We contacted affordable mobility after contacting another local mobility company ( Ride Away) who took our information and failed to return phone calls for two weeks and told us they'd require me to take have a mobility/driving evaluation before they'd install the same type of hand controls I'd been driving with for over 7 years which they had installed on my previous car with only a doctors note. So, we asked our durable medical person for another recommendation and he suggested affordable mobility. Affordable Mobility returned our phone call within hours, spoke to us about what we needed in our car, and all they required was a note from a physician or a stamped NH license for proof of need. They were very knowledgable and said they could ordered the needed hand controls and have in three business days and would call us when in to schedule appointment. We had them order right then. They called when the hand controls were in and we scheduled them to be installed the next day. The install went well my only complaint was we were told the job would take 4-6 hours and they'd call if they ran into problems - we dropped off at 8 am and said we would pick up after work around 7 pm. We arrived at 7 pm only to find the car not complete since they ran into an issue and said it would be ready at 9 pm so we went home and waited for a call, at 9:20 they called and the Tiguan was ready. We had just wished they would have let us know of the delay to save us getting a ride twice to their workshop by a family member or let us make other plans to pick it up the next morning. We are a one car family so we were depending on others to get back and forth to work and to pick up the car. Other companies had quoted us two days for the job so maybe they were being ambitious by quoting 4-6 hours but still for the knowledge, the better product, and the price well worth a little inconvenience. They still did the work in one day that other companies quoted two days at least to do. All that being said they did a great job installing the hand controls and spinner knob. They were clean, knowledgable of different options, and their price was the the best we'd be quoted 888.00 vs. 1150.00 at Ride Away and when you are paying for mobility modifications out of your own pocket that's a big difference. I would definitely recommend giving them a call for your mobility needs.
