Loved the place. The ambiance and the decor were perfect. It was ideal for the show we went for. Ghulam Ali Farewell show. I didn't go to the bathrooms. We sat in the last two rows of the theater. The seats had practically no leg room. The restaurants close by were great.

What a beautiful venue! The history here in the design and architecture is something to experience. This is an intimate venue and seats are ok. Note that parking is a bit of a trick. There are some spots on the street - but honestly/ you should look for the garage and walk in.

Conveniently located a block from Caltrain and surrounded by a variety of bars and restaurants, this venue was an unexpected pleasure. Plenty of room to stand or sit. The sound mix was best seated in the center of the room. I didn't go to the 2nd floor. The concession stand had reasonably priced goods, of which I didn't buy any. I was surprised by the lack of security. I walked right in with only a scan of my ticket. The main hall is nice, but drab. It's bathed in beige and could really use a paint job or something to update its appearance. I will definitely be spending more time at the Fox Theater and Redwood City in general. I will also be testing the theater s security.

I really enjoyed this venue. The music was amazing. I loved all the freestyle musicians. There is tons of room in this place with an upper area where you get a great view but can be away from the crowds downstairs. Everyone was dancing on the dance floor and generally having a great time. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were about average in their pricing. The overall atmosphere here is wonderful. I would love to go back and hear more music.

I went here for Klove sponsored concert of Jordan Feliz in 7/23/24. My family and I sat upstairs. Overall, the theater was nice and a great venue for an indoor concert.

Fox Theatre Redwood City order system for concert tickets in 2024

I've had problems placing orders on their website using my iPad. The website is old and buggy. It doesn't take Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. I'm also concerned how safe it is for my credit card. The order system refuses to place my latest order because I didn't check if I want insurance. However, there's no field to check. I asked my wife to double check my screen and she couldn't find the field either. See image attached. There's no customer service page. It looks like you can only call them when the box office is open. FYI... if you had a customer service feedback function, I would have sent this feedback to you and not on yelp. We love this place and feel bad that they are loosing business due to not keeping up with modern, safe, secure website technology. I hope they upgrade their ordering system and website before the holidays. All the best

I'm 5.4" can you see my legs are touching the seat in front of me?

The space between two rows of seat is so small, I can hardly cross my legs. No cup holders on the seats, if you have cocktail, you have to hold the cup all show time. Rest rooms are clean though. mobile hawkers selling hotdogs or some Mexican food in front of the theater, the greasy smell penetrates into the theater hallway, it's so bad, your hairs and clothes are smelly like you are doing heavy cooking in an bad vented kitchen.

Fox Theatre in Redwood City is beautiful! Ernie was so kind and professional. I then met Joey, who is PHENOMINAL! They really scored big time when they hired Joey!! He is so friendly, generous, thoughtful, and totally made our time at the Fox Theatre one my fiance and I will never forget! All of the decor is original, even down to the water fountain in the lobby downstairs. The chandeliers were big brass art sculptures from the ceiling, surrounded buy handpainted scenery on both sides of the walls. The 2 staircases frame the room as you walk in the lobby! It is so grand! I absolutely love all of the details in this theatre, the outside Marque is all original, and when the sign is all lit up at night, its truly nostalgic and breathtaking! Joey is incredible. He had so much knowledge of the theatre and really fun stories to share. Joey went above and beyond for us and I couldn't be happier with our experience at the Fox Theatre. He does his job with so much heart and respect for the establishment. You can tell he loves his job and takes pride in all the attention to great detail. All of the barbacks and coworkers also exuberated the vibe that they loved their job and loved working there too! When we checked out the Fox Club (bar next door) a regular performer of the venue also greeted Joey with a hug and smile. Everyone was so friendly and so kind. I definitely will be returning! 10 stars for the Theatre 1,000,000,000 stars for Joey! GO VISIT THE FOX THEATRE, MAGICAL EXPERIENCE!

Fox Theater in Redwood City Legends of Motown Review.

Old time Theater with no updates except the bathrooms, which is a good thing. However, a manager was showing a girl how to clean in there, but they both walked out, and neither of them wiped down the sink counter. There is nothing worse than to lean over to put on your lipstick and get some other persons drippings on your expensive dress! Nice concessions stand, beautiful stairways to balcony. Horrible seats! The entire row had to stand up and exit in order to be seated. Never mind if you had to go tinkle. It's quite nostalgic but not ergonomic or comfortable. If you have average sized shoulders, get an end seat. There is no elbow room for anyone else. We attended the Motown Review Show. What a great show. There needs to be more advertisements for local events such as this.

Love, Death and Jazz Chickens. Eddie, you're the best.

The M-A Bears are bringing music and the performing arts to Menlo Park in a big Roarin' way!…read more Back when I was in high school at M-A, (no, I'm not divulging my graduating year date!) the site of this theatre was known as J-Building. It was a dingy reflection of an era that was in love with asbestos and that horrid color, mustard yellow. I remember looking up at that nasty ceiling and seeing all the paper airplanes that had made it into oblivion. Forever stuck in that chemical wasteland, these paper wads were a credit to whoever had the best muscle and aim. Not me. I was a band geek...well, a Jazz Band Geek! With the recent retiring of 39 year M-A veteran and band teacher, Frank Moura, the PAC Band/Rehearsal Room is now officially named in his honor, "Frank Moura Hall". He will forever be a legend at M-A, having brought award-winning jazz bands to Europe, Reno and beyond since the 70s. Frank was, of course, my favorite high school teacher! No longer on the fringes of the school grounds, the Band Room is now combined with the Performing Arts Center. From the practice room, which is big enough for sectionals, is a hall way that leads to the backstage. Walking through, I felt like the football team must feel entering the field--like a super star (even without an instrument in my hand!) What is so phenomenal about its creation is the architectural design, worthy of any college campus. Not only is it built with state of the art sound technology and lighting equipment, but it holds 492 seats, an 80 musician orchestra pit and has a ticket booth. Its public performances serve the cities of Menlo Park, Atherton and surrounding communities. Lucky me, I got to meet the Center's new manager, a M-A grad and talented vocalist. It must be awesome to work at the school where you grew up. It's "almost" enough to wish myself back into my teens. Uh...almost! Its beautiful, metal "mesh-like" structure on the inside strongly reminded me of what it's like to sit under the filtered light of the campus oak trees. They really have done an excellent job combining modern touches and school spirit. The carpeting is a tasteful nod to M-A's colors: Maroon and Gold. (Go Bears!) My favorite detail, however, was a graffiti-like painting of a bear that greets visitors in the entrance. It's all about funding...this is a beautiful, physical representation of something that an affluent community has done that many places probably can not afford to do, but wish they could: Support the Arts! Here's to you, Frank!

I was able to see the venue while I was working to host a reception for the event. From the outside, the building is very abstract looking, and there are stadium style steps that lead to the main entrance. Once you enter, the walls are painted a deep and bold red color, with pictures highlighting the building process hanging on the walls. The theater itself is very nice and has a contemporary uniqueness to it. In the theatre, the ceiling is in angular shapes and all of the equipment in the ceiling is able to be seen by the audience through mesh metal coverings. Some of the cool things I noticed was that this new building has a great heating and cooling system, and the theater is virtually soundproof once the doors are closed. This was very beneficial to us who were working because we were able to set up, clean up, and break down without worrying about disturbing the concert. Overall, this is a very cool venue, and hopefully one day I can come to watch a performance.

I like the concept of the "2nd Stages Series", which provides funding and mentorship from Dragon's staff to other artists. At least, they are able to fully produce projects about which they are passionate. What a wonderful opportunity! THEME: --------- What happens when a guy has a life crisis and goes across the country visiting his ex-girlfriends? Maybe he's trying to learn from past mistakes, or maybe he is seeking forgiveness for his actions. This dark comedy is intriguing and keeps you wondering who he will confront next and how he chooses to handle each situation and personality. ACTING: ---------- Every single actor in this production is completely committed to his/her role. The entire cast is brilliant and really brings all the characters to life. It is very likely that audience members will see a lot of themselves within these characters because they are so easy to relate to. STAGING: ------------ The venue itself is very small with only 70 seats, all within close proximity to the stage. This creates an intimate setting for productions and works particularly well for this one. Not a single facial expression is missed, keeping the audience completely engaged. The director has done a fantastic job bringing to life the cruelty and awkwardness of past relationships and the possibility of redemption. VERDICT: ----------- If you enjoy riveting performances that depict real characters, you will enjoy 'Some Girls' at the Dragon. The instructors are highly skilled, great communicators, and genuinely fun to learn from. Every class is engaging and well-paced, and there's always a few good laughs! I've also met a lot of friendly and encouraging classmates, which has made the studio feel like a real community. It's a very comfortable environment. I really appreciate how the classes are structured. We start with a quick icebreaker, move into learning a routine (often with shines), and end with social dancing. Rotating partners throughout class is a huge plus as it gives you experience dancing with different styles and skill levels and helps you grow faster. Beyond classes, the studio hosts fun events like weekly Saturday social dancing, with styles rotating throughout the month (for example, salsa on the second Saturday). I also attended their Winter Gala earlier this month and was blown away by the performances. It truly felt like watching a live episode of Dancing with the Stars.
