Because of its size, it provides an intimate experience regardless of where you sit. I sat at the second to last row but it still felt like a front row experience. At times I got goosebumps feeling like the actors were looking at me straight in the eyes. The concession was very reasonably priced. I got a cocktail for only $10.

Yay. Mine and hubby's first Independence Day celebration with many more to come…read more Dropped by for a few hours this afternoon to check out the Live entertainment and dog show. The park was packed already by 1pm with many people coming down early to 'reserve' spots by laying blankets out / putting up gazebos with the intent to come back later in the day which I thought this was a little cheeky if people don't intent to be there for quite some time. Entertainment was good, very laid back verging on disorganized in parts but the dog show in the Amphitheater was so cute! It was great to see so many taking park and clearly put in a lot of effort in some of the cute little outfits. Also had live band entertainment and many tents set up selling Kettle Corn, Drinks (including beers and wine), Sunglasses, Jewelry ect with what I suspect to be a local DJ playing among the swarms of tents. Activities were a little sparse - slides, bouncy house and one or two rides. Rest rooms consisted of a handful of Porta Potty's on each end of the park (one lot near the rec center and the other opposite CVS) which were surprisingly clean and stocked with tissues. Parking $10 which is fairly reasonable for the whole day, many people were seen to be parking in the local mall strip car park but towing trucks were seen to be in operation with Safeway in particular enforcing the 1 hour maximum parking rule. I love that it takes place in the Leo J park, right on the lake with the boat hire at the far end it's a great place to spend the day. But a big negative to the evening festivities though - The huge amount of people ignoring the fact it was a 'smoke free' event (dozens and dozens of signs stating so). Would have been nice to have event workers enforcing the rule. Nothing worse than someone second hand smoke. Eeaw Fireworks were for me were the highlight of the event which we went back for later in the evening after dinner. They started at 9:30pm over the lagoon, lasted about 25 minutes and were fantastic! With Foster City being quite a small town they now how to celebrate. I would rate 3.5 but rounded up.

The parking garage closest to the park (maybe 2 or 3 blocks away) had a bunch of open spots with a flat rate of $10 for the event, but filled up quickly when we came back maybe 2 hours later. They close the surrounding streets down. There were a bunch of food trucks, but we opted for the taco booth. Not bad. They had cantaloupe and watermelon frescas as well as horchata. Honestly, there's not much to do. A few vendors selling hats, popcorn, etc. Cheap carnival games where you can win stuffed animals, rides and snacks. Lots of open field where people set up tents, canopies, anything to reserve that prime spot, especially near the lake. People even set up on the deck. People were bbqing and just hanging out, but no play equipment for kids so come prepared. We missed the dog parade earlier in the day, but there were still a bunch of four-legged friends wandering around. T-pumps is across the street, but the line was super long. The employees did a good job of getting the line to move pretty quickly. You cannot park in this lot. There are tow trucks on site that will mark your tires. They are serious about their no event parking here lol. My suggestion would be to come early to get a good spot and uber if you must. Otherwise, buy some lawn chairs from the CVS? next to T-pumps and park in the lot further away from the park. About a 10 min. Or less walk to the lot where everyone sets up for the show. We were right below the fireworks, which was a dope show. Bring earplugs or ear protection for the little ones if they scare easily. It gets loud. The walk back is crazy because there's sooo many people trying to get out. Leave before the finale or be prepared to wait an hour just to get out of the parking lot.

My daughter had 15 friends join her for a paint party at netra studio. The teachers were absolutely amazing. They were so patient with all the kids and the paintings turned out so well. It's a really spacious studio with a kitchen, microwave and refrigerator incase you need to store any perishables for the party! We loved the whole experience and will be definitely back for more experiences like this.

He has a lot of knowledge to offer and has years of experience. Since I've never taken ballet as a child, I appreciate his pointers and give me a better understanding of the ballet technique. He is very competent at his job and you can tell he enjoys it, he also has a sense of humor and makes learning fun. The students are all friendly and various ages. Overall Greg is an amazing teacher and welcomes everyone to his class.

We hosted a team event at Canvas & Café, and within three hours I genuinely felt like I had made a…read morenew friend in Deepa, the owner. I didn't know her before this, but her warmth and humor created such an easy, welcoming vibe. We painted on tote bags -- and I am usually the "not artistic" friend -- but Deepa made it so simple, fun, and pressure-free that I ended up completely absorbed in it. My whole team loved it, and everyone walked away really proud of what they created. Food was perfect and low-lift: pizza from Curry Pizza House and apps + salad+ kebabs from Falafel Tazah, all set up seamlessly so we could just relax, paint, and talk. Most importantly, it gave our team the kind of genuine bonding time that's rare. People laughed, shared, and actually unwound -- no forced activities, just real connection. I can't recommend Canvas & Café enough for team events, celebrations, or a fun night out. 5/5 -- we'll definitely be back !!!

The studio doubles as an event venue so I've seen random stuff happening inside whenever I'm taking a stroll in this peaceful plaza. I found a Groupon for the paint night experience that was a pretty fair deal. The instructions to schedule the session were a little unclear, but we basically had to directly email the business owner. To be honest, it was a little rough trying to figure out when I could book our appointment and whether we were confirmed, as the instructions seemed to be somewhere in between "drop in on a day that we're open" to "confirm the actual day you're coming in" (with times that completely differed than what's noted on the website). I had to poke Deepa, the owner, to get an answer a couple of times. After praying that we weren't going to be shooed away despite my communication about our arrival, we came in to our instructor, Matt, preparing the area. He wasn't aware that we were going to be in the class, so we all started late because it took some extra time set up our table, chairs, easels, paints, etc. While waiting, we enjoyed the surprise small bites and entertainment from Matt's dog. This paint night differed from my other experiences in that we got to collectively pick a painting to do (with the other attendees), which was a little awkward because I don't think everyone was in 100% agreement. Throughout the session, Matt was great. He was patient, gentle, kind, with random funny moments. He was very helpful in supplying paints, giving tips, and encouraging us to add personal touches to our piece. I liked how intimate the class was, with a smaller number of people than I've seen before (albeit my prior experiences were at work or sponsored engagements). It was hilarious seeing how varied me and my friends' paintings were - we loved it. I got impatient and used a medium brush instead of a finer size for the reeds, so they got everywhere. The smaller, thin canvases are a manageable size, and I'd enjoy coming here again while hoping for a better streamlined way of scheduling our participation!

Finding the right piano teacher can be stressful for parents and students. The teacher needs to be…read moreknowledgeable, approachable, firm but kind, and a great fit for the student. Our daughter had had several other teachers who were fine but not fantastic. Last year, we were fortunate to come across Joy Han. An acquaintance of ours spoke highly of her, so we contacted Joy to schedule a tryout. From the very beginning, Joy demonstrated care, knowledge, and passion for music that was a great fit for us. She has students with many different ability levels, and our daughter has thrived under her tutelage. Joy makes lessons fun and productive while making sure the kids push themselves to get better. Striking that delicate balance between firm and kind is an art, and Joy is an artist in that regard. If you would like to have your child (or even adult) student succeed in their piano growth, I recommend you contact Joy and see what I mean. She is great.
