This has got to be I-20 and Social Circle's best kept secret. It is quietly tucked away just about 1 mile off of I-20 in Social Circle. You will see dozens of grape/muscadine vines and this quaint little shop. Inside, there will be dozens of amazing, locally-made wines and a very pleasant elderly gentleman by the name of Richard who will tell you all the history of the place and treat you to an unexpected wine tasting and explanation of the wines they carry. This is a nostalgic and most pleasant experience. We enjoy sampling of the various wines they serve and learning about the history of the place. We purchased a bottle of the original Blueberry Bonny and a the Sweet Melanie, which is the sweetest wine they carry, which was my wife's favorite. I highly recommend them for a quiet local winery experience just down I-20 from Metro ATL. Support this local establishing which is immensely homegrown and remarkably charming.

Very nice selection of local wines, reasonably priced. Convenient location just off I-20 East.

Friendly staff. Sad that they aren't doing more. Wine is not very good. A hidden gem that is missing the mark.

I've been wanting to visit Château Élan Winery & Resort for a few years now, so I was really…read moreexcited when my husband surprised me with a two-night stay. The night before our trip, I made the mistake of reading reviews and started to feel a little skeptical, but by then, it was too late to cancel. I'm actually glad it was, because our experience turned out to be a great one. When we arrived, the grounds were absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. At check-in, we were told the last wine tour started at 5:00 p.m., and it was already 4:45. I asked if we could go the next day (Monday), and the front desk agent assured us we could, saying they were open daily from 12-6. After settling into our room, we headed to Louis' House of Bourbon. The food was decent, but the drinks were excellent. The atmosphere alone made it worth the visit. The next day, however, we found out that the wine tours and tastings were actually closed on Mondays, which was disappointing given the information we were told at check-in. Still, we didn't let that ruin our trip. We went out to a nearby steakhouse for dinner and returned to the resort for drinks at what had quickly become our favorite spot, Louis'. I have to give a special shoutout to the staff, Manny, Anya, and Cole were amazing. They were attentive, friendly, and really elevated our experience. Overall, we had a great stay and are already looking forward to coming back, especially in the summer to enjoy the pool and hot tub!

Review is based on winery experience itself. Not the additional special experience we paid extra…read morefor. Parking was dreadful. Being a weekend and open to the public whether wining, dining, or not, there were almost no parking when we went. Got lucky catching someone leaving. The actual tasting set up is pretty confusing. No direction when you walk in. No hosts. You have to check in. They give you a sheet with the options of wines. Then you go to another counter and choose one wine at a time reusing the same glass throughout. Unless you change from white to red and vise verse. (I personally didn't like that) All with no direction or signage and staff just looking at you being confused. It is also self seating. The ladies at the check in desk weren't very friendly, as well as at the pouring station. I get they probably get rude clientele but we weren't them =(( We ordered some charcuterie and hummus to have with our wine and we actually did not get the hummus till over an hour later. We had to tell our coordinator. I'm sure they made it and forgot because the pita was rock hard and vegetables dehydrated. Why they didn't make a new tray I don't understand. Also considering the type of establishment, why does the charcuterie come on a baking tray with baked on grease? Wine selection though, great!
