This is a cool little wine shop where you can taste different types of wines and also a store where you need gifts like hot sauces with funny names and different types of eating products and seasonings. Not sure why this has low stars, it's a cute little hole in the wall winery, there are bigger ones in the area but who doesn't like a free wine tasting! You get to pick 3 samples and they are all sweeter wines, which I enjoy. They have a few dry but I like my wine to taste like boozy juice. My mom tried some samples too so tried strawberry, blueberry, apple, watermelon, peach and another one that was a mix but my favorite was the watermelon. I walked into this place and was interested in what they had to offer. Being in the industry, I asked about their varietals and where they were grown. She was extremely rude and said that they were from there and that they were the oldest winery around. Several local people have tried to rip off their name but they are the originals. I asked again what they were tasting and where they sourced their grapes. She then was extremely rude and said that she would get with me in time (it was just me and my mother In law in the place). Weird. After 5 min of going back and forth I told her I did not even want to try her wine and walked out. She was so rude that I had no drive to taste. Worst customer service I've EVER received. Horrible. I came to visit from Seattle and I was shocked. The woman at the counter was VERY rude, unprofessional. I was extremely offended. The two people behind me also left the store due to her behavior. I've never been treated like that and will NEVER be back. I do however highly recommend Haversham winery right down the street! The reviews are about right, this winery is not so great. We parked nearby and were walking around checking out all of the nearby business and saw Fox Winery. I love wine, wine tasting, and always try to visit wineries when traveling so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to try some Georgia wine. The gentleman working was helping a group of three ladies but did not acknowledge me when I came in. I waiting for him to finish explaining what he just poured them but he still did not say anything to me. I waited a minute and still nothing so I went and stood right up at the counter. Still nothing. Not joking when I say I stood there at least five minutes before he even spoke to me. He was not helpful or nice in any way. When I asked to do a tasting he acted like I was being difficult. While helping me he still had a bad attitude. The wine wasn't even good anyway. So, skip this winery and go elsewhere. read more

The wines are very sweet, and they don't open fresh bottles for the tastings, so the finish is quite sour. Stay away. read more

The Tasting here was great for it being free. The gentleman doing the tasting was nice and he was able to handle all 10 of us. The icing on the cake was when we left the bottom of my box came out and all the wine I purchased burst on the sidewalk. The lady who sells the wine is a little much. She has this monotone speal while placing a tiny cup in front of you. She says "there are free samples and tips are appreciated" while she dripples some wine into your sample cup. She didn't let us pick which wine to sample, after tasting the first wine I asked to try a second wine and she poured the second wine (a red) into the same sample cup from before (a white). So now I had a mixture of the two. She also insists that this GA wine is unique and is absolutely unfindable anywhere else ever. We did buy 2 bottles of strawberry wine which was very sweet. I gave three stars because it did get me drunk. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! The woman there was downright rude! We walk in she asks if we like wine because most people come in to be freeloaders for the advertised free wine tasting. Then went in to a story how they don't want to waste their money or time if people don't buy it. My stepmom tried two wines I walk over and try one. I know I look younger than I am but she scolded me for trying the wine without being ID'd. However I am nearly 30. I gladly offered to show her my ID when she replied "it's too late now!" This is a great place to find unique blends of wine from locally grown grapes. The lady that runs the shop is very knowledgeable about the background of each of the wines she sells. We collect wine from small vineyards all around the world and this one easily rates in the top few we have tasted. read more

He picked up a rag and wiped the counter then left from behind it to assist someone who came in after me. I said, I guess you don't want to help me, and walked out. I read a bunch of reviews about the lady being rude who owns/works the tastings. I think she is more straight forward then rude. She let's you know you only get 5 tastings (they are generous pours) and that they are the only place around that gives free tastings "in the hopes you'll buy something" . She explains the history of the winery like she has said it a million times a day....which she probably has. Maybe because I'm a business owner this all makes sense to me. ...and I appreciate no overly nice ass kissing to get you to purchase. Yes there was some waiting involved (only 1 person working) and she even said "you need to wait because I need a break" lol, but once she is helping you, you have her full attention. The wine was great, and we bought 1/2 a case. We prefer sweet wine and hey had a pretty large selection for a little place. The Raspberry Fox is a bit tart and very unique, I can honestly say I've never had a wine like that, definately my favorite! I love that they do not ship, this makes it more special. Even though the bottles are inexpensive (about $13 a bottle) they will go with our "special" wines, because you can only get them here. read more

My boyfriend and I loved this place! The guy at the counter gave us a free wine tasting of our choice. They had a large variety of sweet wines. We chose their Strawberry Shortcake, a Raspberry flavor, and another that I cannot remember the name of at the moment. The man was very polite and patient while pouring us the samples and all three flavors were amazing! I'd imagine they've gotten a better staff since then, because I was surprised at all the bad reviews I read before writing my own. I'd like to mention that the wine tasting is FREE. Meaning that, even if you weren't aloud to pick the three wines you got to try, they are still letting you taste them for free. So griping about that is a little childish. It may have been their special that they wanted to promote, or they simply had more of those three in stock. They're not going to open a bottle, if there's only a few left in stock. read more

Extremely good product, especially for the store size. Where some local winerys we've gone to today (habersham was a big let down) for tastings, fox left none of the typical oak flavoring afterwards. full bodied wines, three varieties that focus quality over quantity (another refreshing standout that local wineries seem to ignore) and a knowledgeable staff (gentleman name of Evan) made suggestions, answered all questions and was very sociable/approachable. This outfit also doesn't pretend to be a California winery, focusing more on your input than subtle suggestions to get you to go for their more expensive products. Perhaps the most intense standout of all is as a Georgia vineyard/winery, they've come to realize that as long as they focus on their product, they don't need a huge tasting bar because it sells itself. The amount they give for tasting is smaller than most but don't let that turn you off. Their flavors are so intense and original it'll be all you need. If you haven't been, go. It will not be a wasted trip. read more
