LED skyscraper 360 high ceiling back bar tower
    T. Bernie ..

Reliable, throwback fun for the grown and lovers of multi-genre, period club hits. Photo does no justice of this spot spinning best and favorite hip hop, R & B and dance music of 90s, 80s, and late 70s along with current bangers. Touches of retro vibe are interspersed like arcade games off left of the walk-in foyer, then an inconspicuous selfie camera inset in wall. There are rustic dining booths along one side of first floor, then center of the space is a shift to modern with an LED back bar tower. Along other side is stairway to second floor with a modern club layout of sparse modular seats, dope ceiling mounted art of iconic entertainers, a small bar outpost and 270 railing designed to look over first floor. Literally get your whole life dancing the night away to tunes from back when to now. Enter this hidden, nightlife bar through an unmarked door in alley way (kind of nod to Studio 54). Finding Foxhole
    Luis M.

The most exciting part of the venue was the sign that greets you. But by the looks of it, not a lot of people found Foxhole. Perhaps it was the day I went on, but it was dead. Or the night was still young, which is a possibility for any given weekday in Miami. They had giant screens that were playing the NBA playoffs, so it doubles up as a good sports bar for those kinds of events. The music was also blaring, so the party was just missing people. Just don't come here if you don't plan to shell out the big bucks. A simple rum and coke runs about 17$. If it was a special drink, let's say, a Moscow Mule, then I think that price would be warranted. That being said, that's the kind of luxury you walk into when your on Miami Beach. Welcome to Miami.

Sometimes in Miami Beach you will be walking by a back alleyway and miss out on the fact that a bar is nearby. Foxhole is located near Alton but the entrance is behind an alley where customers enter to find a surprisingly cool decorative bar with the aesthetic of a nightclub. They have seating and table service, as well as a nice second floor looking down at the bar. Bathrooms appeared to be clean and very modern. Now you may be wondering why did I give it a low rating. Basically it was because it came down to service and quality of drinks. I came in with 3 friends on a random slow weeknight and the blonde girl attending us at the bar seemed very annoyed and frustrated before we even ordered our drinks which were a round of tequila shots and a round of vodka cranberries. Total bill was very pricey given the fact that the pour wasn't very stiff, mostly chaser. Then this bartender gave one of my friends attitude because her card declined when we split the bill. Not very professional. In the end we only spent 1 hour here and I don't plan on returning in the near future.

Always a great local bar in Miami Beach on the bay side of the island. You have to go through a small alley in the back of a plaza. Once you get inside it's a two story bar. Lighting is very dim. There's a DJ, seating/vip, and drinks. No food at this location. We watched the IFC fight there. Was a fun time. After the fight ended the DJ played some hip hop/reggaeton. Foxhole never disappoints.

    The secret is out...

Miami is a city that loves exclusivity - and what can be more exclusive than a "secret" bar? Walking into the alley behind the subway is certainly shady - but behind the unmarked steel door is the entrance to the Foxhole. But once you enter that steel door, all illusions of this being an underground speakeasy go away. The inside of the Foxhole definitely shows the owners spent a significant investment in this venue. There is an area to play pool, a large modern bar, digital jukebox, and couches and several flat screen TVs upstairs. The decor is very modern chic even featuring several antique guns mounted on the walls upstairs. Unfortunately the owners have to pay for this great interior somehow and typical beach drink prices reign inside. Still, we had a great time here on a Friday night - the DJ was cranking some old school classics and the place was packed with talent. This is definitely a cool spot to check out and impress your date. I'd come here again, but I wouldn't say it was awesome enough to be on permanent rotation. 3.5 stars.

    Bartender

I guess I went a little early because it was dead inside. It started to get busier by the time I left but the men to woman ratio was very one sided. The bartender was very nice and friendly. It was not what I was expecting though. I found the place by a dim red light on top of a decent sized door. When I walked in there was a pool table on my left and dim lighting. The ambient l lighting was nice but the music was horrible. It was loud and "hip" (I guess), which isn't what I was expecting. I could barely hear people talking to me and for me, I was expecting a prohibition style everything. The look was kind of what I was expecting but with a traditional style bar look sprinkled in the mix. It was the music and how loud it was that did it for me. The last reason in me giving this place 3 stars was the drink I ordered. I may just be spoiled with the different speakeasies I've been to but I always get an old fashioned when I go to speakeasies and more times then not it's at least made pretty good. However, after I ordered it and it was placed in front of me I instantly noticed parts were missing. It was the wrong color and there was no garnish (orange peel). No problem. I took the first sip and instantly realized it was one of the worst I've ordered. It was WAY too sweet like there was a gallon of simple syrup in it. I couldn't taste the bourbon. If it wasn't for the fact that I saw the bartender pour bourbon in it I would have thought there wasn't any.

What time does the ladies night start and end on Wednesday?

Begins at happy hour--5-9 and continues well into the night. I've come here around 10PM and it was PACKED. The DJ truly caters to all ladies.

    How are the drink prices?

Typical for South Beach. No happy hour so over $10 for most cocktails.

Is this place 21 and over?

    Yes.

Do they have topless waitresses and cabaret dances for adults?

Been here a few times on Friday and Saturday nights and I've never seen that.

It was their trivia night, I believe there was a $1500 pot if you win. Everyone seemed to be playing. We arrived to late to join. The place was packed yet there were only two servers. Our server was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. However she managed to keep up with out party of 9. There were times we were waiting for assistance however we could see she wasn't just sitting on her ass. We order burgers, flat breads, tenders and steak tacos. Steak tacos were horrible Burgers were delicious Flatbread were good Tenders definitely looked like they were frozen tenders from the grocer. The beverages were nice not too strong but not weak. We were kinda profiled however as a black person you get use to it. My husband and brother stepped out for a smoke break..although everyone else was still seated at the table. We watched security run out after them. We laughed cause they looked stupid. When security ran out there they pretended to be looking at something when they noticed they guys were right outside the door. Irish pub we didn't expect any less. However it was kinds funny how the guy darted out after them then aimlessly looked around after he realized they were smoking a cigarette ‍

I realized that I had not actually been to this location since it was The Playwright (or whatever it was called) 4 or 5 years ago. The updated interior is nice - very "pubby" - and they offer a good variety of seating from bar seats to high-tops to couches. Two things here that were standouts: First, the burger is one of the best burgers I've had on South Beach. So much so that I'm craving it again this morning. They've done a good job with the menu in that it still has all those bar foods that you look for in a place like this, but they've put some thought into elevating a number of items (e.g. the short rib poutine!) Second, the service was great. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name - a nice guy from Kendall) was very friendly and provided excellent service. As many reviews mention, this is definitely a place to watch a game. While we weren't there for this purpose last night, the TV setup is great and I could def see myself camping out there with a few beers on a weekend afternoon. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I'll be back again for sure.

Walked in and... it was giving empty. Like FIVE people in the whole place empty. Ma'am this is a SEASON FINALE, where is everybody?? We gave it one sad look around and collectively decided we were not about to watch a couple win a relationship AND $100k surrounded by absolutely nobody's energy. Enter: the group chat scramble. Somebody said "wait isn't grails doing something?" and GRAILS SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OUT. Five minute walk later and we're suddenly in the middle of what can only be described as a full Love Island themed production. Not a chair in sight when we got there (we stood for a solid 20 minutes like the dedicated girlies we are, no complaints, we've suffered for less) until a table cleared and we swooped in on some couch seating like the tactical geniuses we are. The vibes? Immaculate. The energy? Impeccable. Smirnoff had the place fully sponsored ... team walking around handing out merch, free shots, drinks flowing, and a Love Island themed photo booth that had us posing like we were the ones about to get a text. Moral of the story: should've come here from the jump. Grails didn't just host a watch party, they hosted THE watch party. Watched the finale with my fellow Yelp girlies in what felt like our own little villa and honestly? No notes. 10/10, will be back for the next situationship-ending finale. Years ago I'd come here after the beach, sit on the balcony, people-watch, and cool off with a strong, frozen drink. In that sense, the place is exactly as I remember, with cold drinks on a hot Miami day and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the billing experience completely changed how I felt about our visit. When the check arrived, I noticed the suggested tip percentages were unusual (around 7%, 8%, and 9%). I was planning to leave my normal 20% tip, but then the gentleman behind the bar explained that a 15% gratuity had already been added and the listed percentages would be additional. To be clear: I always tip, and I generally tip well. But adding a gratuity without authorization or clearly disclosing it up front is a big deal. A tip is supposed to be voluntary, and quietly including one, especially in a setting where you're already prompted to add more, feels misleading and wildly inappropriate. That part honestly overshadowed the visit for me. The drinks and the memories are still there, but check your bill carefully before paying. I enjoyed the nostalgia, yet this practice alone makes me hesitant to return. This practice of discretely tipping themselves is borderline theft.
