#RIPFOXHOLE Foxhole is no longer what it used to be. I've had a Yelp Account for a while, and for the first time I'm compelled to give my review. Foxhole Bar, was once the cool place to be and be seen. It was the spot to go to before the club, instead of the club and after the club. This is not the case any longer. Terrible Service, impossible to get their attention even on slow nights, they're just huddled together gossiping and flirting with management and ignoring the customers. Bartenders have severely downgraded- not just physically but personality wise. Shame. Shame. Shame. read more

Friends and I were literally on a roll with hitting up the "secret bars" in Miami (as explained by Thrillist). This was the last one on our stop, and we were super excited about the entrance (we were poached from Drunken Dragon by a waiter who told us he could take us straight to Foxhole). We followed him down a strangely morbid alleyway until we were in Foxhole (it was all a little blurry to be honest) but I remember the entrance feeling cool and mysterious. The actual bar, though, was kind of a letdown. It is two stories tall, so we definitely checked out both and realized the top (though super empty and quiet) brought a different kind of feel to the place with its cool view looking down into the bar area. The space didn't look as interesting as I hoped it would look, overall. Drinks were good, but not excellent. Bartenders were not so on their game either (took them a while to make our drinks and it wasn't too crowded at this point). Another - (negative) was the music was super loud. It was hard to have conversations. Overall, I think there are wayyyy cooler bars in Miami; (the Drunken Dragon secret bar, for one). This shouldn't be at the top of your list. read more

Aside from being packed with rowdy non dancing skill privileged kids on a Friday or Saturday, that like to throw ice cubes (yes I said ice cubes), I love this place. Been coming here since it opened in 2011 back when they had the tallest bartenders in south beach. They were some BADDIES. I'm not so harsh to criticize this bar as much as some of my other YP-brethren. It's hard to find, since the entrance is pretty discrete. But finding it is kinda the fun part and Foxhole does fill the void that nearby Quarter Deck left behind when the closed down. Go to HELL Panera BREAD ! : p It only appears like an underground(speakeasy) from the outside, but it's fairly polished inside. Dark, no windows, it has a 2nd floor that over looks and surrounds the center of the main bar on the first floor. Granted some nights the Foxhole overachieves it's South Beach Douche-bag quota, but I have to admit, I've gone some nights and the dj's have been decent. Better than average for Miami. The spot has flatscreens and doubles as a sports bar. So you can catch a game there one evening. Not necessarily a destination spot, but makes for a decent stop over to wet your whistle. read more

I believe in you, Foxie! You are conceptually perfect. Cool mobster feel by being in an alley. Nice decor. Kind of a fancy speakeasy vibe. But here's the beef: 2 Hendricks and Tonic: 25 dollars. Yes I know, I am fancy, (huh) but still a little steep. And they were a little on the light side. Heat game was on (like I cared) but this is not a sports bar, so you should still have music and maybe CC the game. It was early, like 930, but the place just had no energy. Maybe because no music. Bartenders weren't adding or subtracting from the feel of the place. I fell in love twice last night. Nice place, nice bar. It was early, so there's was no real vibe here. The basketball game was playing, music was sounding off and the bartenders engaged much more with one another than they did with any of the customers. That should change for better results in those registers. I could see it being a fun place to be when it is packed. 1 star for the entrance, 1 star for the blond I fell in love with and 1 star for the tattooed brunette I fell in love with right after, lol. read more

To be honest, I hate this place. The place stinks like an ash tray. I'm creeped out by all the guns in a bar, but it's a nice exhibit showing a variety of eras. The music is ok, but nothing really worthy dancing to. Definitely more guys here than girls, which makes me wonder if this is just a hangout for guys with all the arcade games, pool table, and darts. Would prefer to go somewhere else, especially if you're dressed Miami style. but any other day besides weekend + casual clothes - this would be a great way to spend time with your fellow men. We had dinner at the drunken dragon, and were walked over to the Foxhole! Music is awesome here!! They play everything --from old school rap to merengue! Come with comfy shoes on because you will be dancing! You can walk upstairs and lounge, also they have one of those video booths that are so damn awesome to try out! read more

As a Miami Native I've visited Foxhole a few times at night to continue having a great time after a nice South Beach dinner. I went to get a drink before having dinner at Barton G to bring back some good memories. I opened the door to see the lights on and a couple people at the bar. In my eyes what I immediately saw could've been a staff meeting before a busy night. Not wanting to be rude I asked the bartender "Are you open?" She replied with "What does it look like? Don't you see people at the bar?" I couldn't believe what she had said a few seconds later "Yes we are open" I've never walked out of a bar so disgusted in my life. To the bartender I hope you think next time before you come off with such a smart comment. Other than that it's a great place to have an awesome time. read more

Been there two times as it is really close to my house. Be prepared that staff can kick you out from the table because they want to serve bottle service to a bigger party. Do not expect much as it is south beach after all. Also be aware that they collect your driver license information for absolutely no reason. how do you find this place? look for the red light above the entrance door in a side alley...yeap..no sign... But once you walk in, it feels like somehow..you've been tricked...and in a good way! I was expecting a dive bar since it's in an alley with no sign..but nope. This place is a two floor full on bar with a pool table, nice lounge feel and great drinks. Look for the red light in the alley. This a cool place to hang as long as you have cool people to hang with. Company decides whether or not you can enjoy yourself here. The drinks aren't pricy and the decor upstairs is pretty sweet. After you've named all the guns on the wall you've pretty much done everything that there is to do here. Unless there's a game on or a fight. You can watch those. Or gouge out your eyes instead. The music isn't bad at all and they play a nice mix of genres so you don't feel like it's getting annoying. It's especially great when some crazy drunk chick wants to twerk to the newest Rhianna song and her friends would rather instagram it than save her. Eventually you'll get bored and move on to the next place or it will get so crowded that you can no longer order a drink and you'll move on to the next place. My point is that you won't spend your whole night here but it doesn't mean you can't start it here. If anything, just come to feel awesome walking through that entrance. read more

Ehhh, I like you Foxhole! You're very discreet, I like that. Foxhole is inside a warehouse with two large steels doors that make you feel like you're on the set of a Saw movie. I assure you it's nothing like that once you enter. (....or is it?!) But let's not get into that quite yet, I wanna get into the valet. I'm not exactly sure what they charge, because they charged SEVEN people in my party all different prices (from as cheap as $10 to as expensive as $35). Some people even arrived at the same hour, so it's not like the price varied by the time. Sketchy. I'd just park across the street. Anyways, back to Foxhole. The interior is nice; clean and simple. There's one mega bar on the first floor and a mini one at the top. The place really picks up after midnight. We cebrated a co-workers birthday on the 2nd floor, we had our own lounge. Our waitress was pretty rad, she was funny and attentive. She didn't lose her patience once although it was loud and everyone was barking their drink orders to her. Mad props, cool waitress woman. What the? A friend from my building told me about this bar and then ended up taking a few of us there last night. Let me just say, I was NOT expecting this type of bar in the pretentious South Beach scene. I have been a victim of the club scene for too long and was in desperate need of a normal night out. I definitely found my new go-to bar. This place is two floors, no frills, just a bar. It's not the type of bar that will have you sticking to the floor though. The music was great and definitely gave my ears a nice break from the boom boom boom south beach music that has my ears ringing for days. I have been to Foxhole many times and finally leaving my review. Always impressed with Foxhole on South Beach. A hidden bar/club with no signage out front. As you're entering in the back alley, you immediately feel like you've found a hidden gem. Inside is a dimly lit space with a large bar and 2 floors. Pool table, darts, photo booth, and a lot more! The music they play is a great mix and I love that they even throw in some 80's tunes. They have a bit of everything, space to dance, couches to sit, plenty of room at the bar. Great place to go during the week or on the weekend. If you get hungry, it's pretty convenient that there is a tasty asian fusion place next door, called Drunken Dragon, to get dinner...or vice versa - if you're having dinner at Drunken Dragon, you may just pop over next door to Foxhole and get some drinks. I brought my friends from San Fransisco there once and they loved it! If you're a local and you have friends visiting from out of town...you can't go wrong going out to Foxhole. read more

I would actually give this bar 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact you can smoke in there (sorry, I'm a spoiled California girl and appreciate clean air :-) Other than that, Foxhole is my favorite kind of bar. This isn't so much a review of my experience as I was just looking for a place to watch the 2nd half of the Bulls Sixers game, but I can say that the place is pretty cool. I believe I was there on a ladies night, and specifically incredibly attractive ladies night, according to a dude who I met at a hostel an hour later on my walk back to the hotel who claims he was tossed when he tried to talk to them...but that's hearsay for now. I couldn't give this place 5 stars for 2 reasons: 1. I hate that you can smoke inside 2. The bartenders were really inconsistent Aside from those thing this place was great. The crowd was a mixed bag but overall young and attractive. While the whole "secret entrance" thing isn't that exciting anymore the place itself is worth a visit. The drinks were mostly strong and the music was great. The DJ was playing bangers the entire time we were there. It was a great place to start our night, we were definitely feeling nice when we left. We came here because my friend, a Miami local, recommended it to us. This place is very well hidden and I don't think we would have gone down a dark ally if a group of people weren't standing there. This gave us the cue that we found the right alley. The inside was nice, we didn't go upstairs but the people we meet at the bar were friendly. Skip to the good part: So being tourists we didn't know we had to specify that we wanted cheap alcohol since we thought this was a dive bar. Anyways our 3 drinks were amazing. Three stars for decent drinks and service, but points deducted for a terrifying way of handling credit cards, and a clearly confused bar design. While exploring South Beach Thursday night, a few friends and I decided to look up what bars were in the area, and came across the Yelp listing for Foxhole. Seeing they had a check-in special for a free drink, we decided to stop in. Had it not been for pictures from fellow Yelpers showing the entrance to the bar being in an alleyway directly under a red lamp, however, I don't believe we would have ever found it. I wanted to start by saying this bar has a clear identity crisis. Hidden in an alley, unmarked, as a sort of speakeasy, once inside, the vibe doesn't match that at all. Immediately upon entering there's a few arcade machines and a billiards table to your left. Walking past that, a large projector hangs above broadcasting whatever sporting event is currently going on. The design and aesthetic of the bar is modern/ rustic with a clean black open air bar, and walls and booths covered in reclaimed wood. The booths also contain TVs displaying more sporting events. Upstairs there's a large wall featuring assorted guns and weapons, further cementing the fact the bar has no idea what it wants to be. A sports bar? A speak easy? Just a casual spot to grab a drink? In the super competitive scene of Miami, the bars have to do anything they can to stand out and become memorable, but this one really needs to go back to the drawing board. Feel of the bar aside, drinks were always quick and well made, and the two bartenders working that evening were both very friendly. The only major complaint I had about service was the way that credit card transactions were handled. The bartenders would take your card and swipe it like normal, and would also ask for your photo ID. They would then take your card, and imprint it on to the bar copy of the receipt where they would then write your drivers license number directly above it. I'm not super positive on the law, but I'm assuming this would be considered a fairly illegal practice. If it's not, it's opening the bar up to a potential large guest data breach as anyone who snapped a photo of, or got their hand on these receipts would have more than enough information to do some serious damage. As I didn't feel comfortable leaving my credit card and drivers license information out there in the open, I took the imprinted copy with me to shred at home, and left the bar the plain copy that was supposed to be for the guest. If I'm in South Beach again, I may consider re-visiting Fox Hole if they work out some of their issues, but I would not go out of my way to stop by. read more

I found it hard to wrap my head around spending roughly $100 on just 6 drinks, simple ones at that too. Where are the craft cocktails and martinis? For a place that's hidden, I would've expected something better than a normal gin and tonic, which the bartender even messed up by making it sweet and syrupy. Gin and tonics are supposed to be dry. Dry dry dry. Anyway, she was nice enough to throw that one out and make a new one without an extra charge. This place is fun for tourists, but I don't know if we'll be back again to hang. TIP: A writer told us that the bar was right behind the Domino's, no signs no anything else. I've been to this place several times. Never too crazy about it. But my last time there, they gave me a good reason stop patronizing their mediocrity. I was talking to my brother, we were both sitting in one of their sofas with one of their T.Vs behind us. A guy from the staff, approaches us really fast, blinding my brother with a flash light yelling "move! move!" not giving us time to react and still almost climbing on top of him, to reach the TV behind us. We didn't understand what was going on and why were we being treated as criminals. So after two impatient "move" he yells "MUEVETE!"... All he wanted was to turn the TV off, because it was closing time. A simple "Excuse me, let me reach the for the TV" would have been enough. We asked for the manager (JASON) who obviously didn't care about the whole situation. I don't go out to give my money for establishments to treat me like that. Us costumers make your business happen, so be smart about it. I have options around South Beach and this is no longer one. Good they are keeping their rude staff, because they are definitely loosing their costumers. read more

The only thing that used to be good about it was that very few knew about it and it was never packed and you could play your own music. Now it's so packed with trashy people, you can't move, it's ridiculous. The drinks are ridiculously pricey! Especially for a shhthole. Bartenders are rude, but thank Gd their boobs show up so it's ok!???! Also on the check, gratuity is included and they write your credit card number on the check! Watch out for FRAUD!! When you play your own music and the manager doesn't like it, they skip it. And sometimes you play a bunch if songs in a row, spend $$$ but they cancel it all when dj comes up. Ive had múltiple friends tell me to check out foxhole. So I grabbed a few girlfriends on a Saturday night. We initially sat at the main bar downstairs for a drink. We ordered a crown and ciroc and the total for both drinks was $32. Definitely pricier than other similiar places. We ended up going upstairs and found a nice corner where we danced our booties off. The music was amazing and the crowd was fun. Smoker friendly is a bonus for me! Awesome place for a girls night out. read more

Always a place to pop into if you like the small chill and fun hole in the wall. Location is tucked away behind an alley which gives it a rustic feel. Once inside there are options to play pool, enter the cool photo booth with friends, grad a drink, or dance the night away. The waitstaff is friendly and the bartenders are super pretty . I knew I would like this place when I saw that it has no storefront. It is hidden and has all of the amenities a good bar should have. Nice seating (upstairs), a pool table, a juke box, a DJ on certain nights, a wrap around bar and dim lighting. I have heard and read about the outrageous prices and i have to say that i have not experienced that. To be honest, i was actually surprised that the drinks were not $17 a pop. I believe I paid $25 or $27 for 2 scoth on the rocks. I believe this is due to the fact that it is new and that they try to get away with unstable prices ;) All in all, i recommend this place, it is a change of pace from the usual SoBe spots! read more

Great music and a different scene. First of all, it's hidden...which I find appealing. No charge to get in, pool table at the entrance which lets you know you're not walking into an overly sadity spot in south beach. The drinks are high for what you get ($11 for Jack Daniels) l, but it is south beach. My Go To speakeasy bar in SoBe with great drinks and plenty of space to hang out and have a great time.

Walked in with my girlfriend, was immediately hit with an overwhelming amount of cigarette smoke. Walked back out as I'm very asthmatic, so not a great environment for me. No fault of the bar here, just my condition. We payed $40 at the front, so we asked the door staff if there was any way we could get that back since we literally took a single step inside and walked out. The manager (or doorman) came over and told us they don't refund door charges. Also fair. While I was trying to explain why we left, a staff member from the bar came over and said, "Ha no sweetie, this isn't f**king Walgreens. What do you think this is? Get the f**k out of here." Less okay. My girlfriend responded with "okay, have a good night." The money is entirely irrelevant. No one is crying over a lost $40. How you treat your patrons however, is everything. Cool hidden little hole. Perfect to hide from tourists in times of craziness on the beach are. They have great happy hour deals from 5-9pm everyday. You can also order food here from Drunken dragon. The touch tubes is available for picking ur music. There is a DJ late at night some nights, the music did take me some getting used 2. The bartenders are beautiful and friendly. Sapir and Morgan are always on point and very attentive. I like to have the option of chilling here on quiet nights or come in to the night that are busy and crowded. I always have fun. The drinks themselves are passable, but nothing you'll be talking about days later, by any means.
