Stormy Flip: dark rum, egg, sugar
    Sergio F.

There's a reason blue-chip stocks require a higher investment than say, penny stocks, and that's because the profit margins tend to be higher. Such is the case with a good mixology bar as well, like the Regent. I like rum, good quality rum; I found that here. Based on friends' recommendation I started with their stormy flip. A creamy concoction of dark rum, dark sugar and egg, it was perfect to start the evening and ease the edge of a 20 hour workday. Mentioning my rum preference to Tyler my bartender, he also prepared a spicy alternative take on the mojito: dark rum, ginger beer and dark sugar. Other reviewers have mentioned the location, but I'll go over it too. Dimly lit, subtle background music that you know it's there but just background enough that you can actually enjoy your conversation on the comfy banquettes as well as your nightcap of dark rum and chocolate bitters. Cheers!

We stopped in here for a nightcap b4 heading to our hotel. The atmosphere was dark and lounge-y. The bar looked pretty and the service at the smallish bar was prompt. We only had rum served neat, but it looked like this is a good, knowledgeable place for a well mixed classic cocktail. If you'd like a smaller, quieter place to enjoy a good cocktail, this looks like the place.

Marvelous ambiance, the band that played on Friday night was outstanding and very engaging with the crowd. The drinks were delicious and not too expensive for a south beach bar. Definitely coming back! Tip your Sever! @francescaMusica

We went here for drinks and they were so good! They have a menu that changes daily. This is a great place to go for a nice intimate vibe. It was pretty quiet both times that I went there, which is a nice change compared to some other places. I will definitely be back here for a good drink!

Great hotel bar, easy going atmosphere, and wonderful cocktails at the regent cocktail club! They have live music on the weekends and a great obeisance anytime. I love their old fashions! They make a fantastic martini as well!

I'm not sure if my feelings towards this place were heightened by alcohol, but days later I'm dying to go back! After a few hours (and cocktails) around the corner from Regent we headed over to get even more cocktails. The reviews make believe you can enter from the other side of the building (on Collins), but we found it easier to enter through the James Ave entrance. Not exactly sure I'd call this place a Speakeasy, but they are definitely going for that sort of vibe + high-end craft cocktails, which works for me, so I was a happy camper. The board listed some cocktail options and most of my group went with one of our favs - the Dark and Stormy. No complaints about this drink what so ever, and I think I had two (or maybe three of them lol). I can see how getting a drink here could be a bit challenging (not sure if they have servers that come around to the table areas as well?) but we found it pretty easy for our group of ~18 to take over the bar area and keep it all to ourselves lol (sorry to the other patrons). One of the group members happened to know Alex (one of the mixologists) so she was able to get some specialty hand crafted cocktails, of which I tried a few sips!! Seriously, not a bad drink in this place (except maybe the Rusty Nail, but that's just not my thing lol). If you're looking for a high end cocktail, then definitely check this place out. I'd love if they served a few lite bites as well, but since they don't I'll have to keep them as an "after dinner" spot only :)

You know? I really hate when this happens. What's that you say? I'll tell you what....Oh, REGENT COCKTAIL CLUB! How did this place escape me for so long? Yes, I had it bookmarked. I just never got around to it until last weekend. After a near perfect dinner at nearby Catch Miami, I brought up my wonderful little Yelp app. Oh, lookie here, there is this bookmarked place we must try! Oh, it's right across the street from our hotel too? Meant to be! Phone in hand, I led the way in my heels as if I had been there a thousand times. I walked up the steps of The Gale hotel, passed the door bouncer who pointed me in the right direction, walked through Dolce, walked through their main lobby, passed the elevators, reached a long hall, and approached a pair of grey velvet curtains flanked by security in suits on either side. Are we there yet? Almost. I asked the security if this was RCC. He pulled the curtain open, smiled and waved us in. WHOA! Well, well, well, this is wonderful. What a nice surprise! Thanks for the tip my fellow Yelpers! Was I in South Beach? It sure did not feel like it. I felt like I had entered a time warp into Chicago circa 1940. The music, lighting, and vibe just took me aback. No tiqui tiqui music here y'all! The music was all very dated: nothing dating past 1960. Maybe even 1955. The "club" is very dimly lit and a quad of inviting leather sofas take center stage. It's not a "club", it's most definitively a lounge. As nice as it is, it is also very laid back. This is a great place for pre or post dinner drinks: far, far, away from the SOBE club scene. I loved that the bartenders were dressed the part too! I tried a couple of my friend's drinks and they were all excellent. I stuck to a (new obsession) bulleit rye on the rocks which seemed like the perfect choice for the night. We scored seating on one of the sofas which meant we had our very own waiter. He was quick, efficient, patient and made great suggestions. For future reference, you can enter RCC (without all the drama) off the street behind the hotel. I just had no idea, but happy my first time had a more mysterious introduction. I plan on making Regent Cocktail Club a ritual. There is no way I will ever visit South Beach and not make a stop here. I have since checked out their schedule and they seem to have live music some days as well as theme nights. I can't wait to return! Consider me swooned!

Stepped into The Gale property and what a lovely hotel. Beautifully renovated but kept the art deco design. One of the bartenders from the restaurant escorted me to the rear of the property (by James Ave) The Regent Cocktail Club in the lobby bar. I felt like I stepped into a 1920's speakeasy. I asked for a pear martini from one of the flapper style cocktail waitresses and I got in a retro champagne glass. The place is really cute to sit and have a cocktail. Jazzy old roaring 20 's tunes filled up the atmosphere taking me back in time.

    Their idea of art lol

No. Just no. The place is cute, decor is minimal, but still still oozes a "speakeasy" vibe; however, for being a cocktail bar, the fact they only have about six cocktails on their menu at $18.50 each, is absolutely unacceptable in my eyes. I am Old Fashioned connesieur and order them everywhere. I live in Chicago where cocktail bars are superb and can recognize true mixologist skills when I see them. The Old Fashioned here is okay; not great, not bad - just mediocre, at best. I also tried the Dark & Stormy. That was stronger but still not on par with my Chicago favorites. The drinks were definitely disappointing! There were six people in our party and the server refused to let us do separate checks which resulted in a shit show when it was time for everyone to fork over the moola. Also, there was hardly no one in the bar on a Saturday night @ 10pm. What's wrong with that picture? SKIP. On to the next.

    The calm before the storm!

Do they serve food? Thank you!! What band is playing next Saturday the 18th? Thinking about reserving for my 40th birthday with a few of my friends. Love the jazzy vibe!

Yes we do! It is lite bite style. The menu can be found here: https://www.regentcocktailclub.com/menus/#food

What kind of live music do they usually have?

Havana Nights on Wednesdays may be your bag if you like to dance :) Regent is dark , moody , eclectic, the bar service and cocktails are really good, but the live music they have specially the Sol Tribu Band on the Saturdays is tops. Have a great…

What surprised me was the excellent service, from start to finish. I arrived early and had a drink at the bar, served by a gorgeous, knowledgeable and polite bartender. As it was early, I probably paid attention to the others at the bar more than I would normally, and it was a very colorful, diverse mix. Beautiful people dressed to the nines, a few couples and a few who were obviously tourists. Great start! The highlights included the dumplings, truffle fries and Snapper. I am a French fry purist, but these changed my mind! I would skip the tuna with caviar over rice appetizer. This one hurt as it was highly recommended by our server. The proportion is just wrong. The mushrooms as a main side were also rather pedestrian. I know we had multiple desserts, but I can't remember them. A big plus for me is that we were rooftop, but it is fully enclosed. Smart and perfect for Miami's unpredictable weather. Since it's clear, you won't miss a thing.
