Well now..it's probably been at least 15 years since I've been here..it has become an all-out dive bar. Like a really really divey dive bar. They took over the space that I believe was previously a hair salon, knocked down the wall, and built a huge bar. There are no longer tables there to sit at, just the bar. The area where the front counter used to be is still there and looks the same, except for the fact that it doesn't look like it's ever used..it appears to be abandoned. So why the five stars you ask? Well, they have a sandwich here that was my absolute favorite sandwich growing up. It's a very basic sandwich..it's just a chicken hoagie with cheese and mayonnaise..but for some reason the way they made it was absolutely delicious. I had been trying to recreate it for the 15 years since I moved away. And I mean, I tried to recreate it everywhere..from upscale sandwich places in big cities, to all the "fast food" sub places you could think of. Chicken, cheese, mayonnaise..so simple..yet not a single place that I tried to recreate it at ever came close. Couldn't even recreate it at home. Never thought I'd be able to enjoy it again. I was absolutely shocked that Harrison City Pizza Pub was still open..granted it's nowhere near what it used to be..but it was still open. I was so excited. Now keep in mind my girlfriend knows all about this sandwich..she's been with me when I've attempted to order it and/or recreate it. She was almost as psyched as I was that I was going to be able to show her where it came from and what made it so good. Well the second we walked into the new Harrison City Pizza Pub everybody's expectations hit the floor. My girlfriend couldn't believe this was the place I had always talked about so fondly that made that infamous sandwich..and I couldn't believe what the place had become. I was sure they didn't serve food anymore..and asked and surprisingly they did. I was positive that there was no way they still made that sandwich..but they did. But I knew for a fact there was absolutely no way they still made it the same... I ordered the sandwich..the bartender asked if it was for here or to go. My mom and girlfriend gave me a look like there was no way they were staying to eat there..so I said to go. It took about 15 minutes to cook. They were getting impatient but I kept assuring them it would be worth it if it were the same. The food finally was ready so I paid and we left. And guess what? The sandwich tasted EXACTLY the same as it did all those years ago. It sent my taste buds into this crazy nostalgic whirlpool. It was the sandwich that I have craved for so long. It was too good to be true. My girlfriend tasted it and said it was pretty good. I mean, there's no way she was going to understand how great this was to me, but I think she could at least see what I was saying about it and see how it did taste different then all the countless attempted recreations over the years. So yeah, if you're in the area, stop by and try this sandwich. There's no way you'll enjoy it as much as I do..but then again, you might.

I'm trying to understand where these recommendations came from because the pizza was truly not that good, very bland, and a small slice was $4.00 Sicilian $6.00. The service I would rate a 7 out of 10 and the ambiance I would rate 6 out of 10. It tasted very bland as if there were no spices to give it that extra oomph. I won't go back, I've had much better. Whatever I'm missing, I'm hoping someone tells me just what I'm missing. Too expensive for the slice as a true New York slice is much bigger and better.

The pizza was REALLY good and so were the breadsticks. The place was really packed inside and I still got my order on time. My family shared my enthusiasm as well for the food. Ordered take out tonight - February 26, 2026 - for what is our favorite pizza within 30 minutes of our house due to excellent ingredients, fantastic sauce, and no skimping on toppings or quality. Well tonight was quite disappointing - it started off great as we pulled right into a parking spot out front which has the same odds as winning the Powerball. Unfortunately, that was the only win and it went directly downhill from there. Pizzas were overdone on top, with very little sauce and cheese. My wife's pie had small extremely thin slices of onions and peppers and not a lot of those. My pie had four pcs (not filets, only one half filet and 3 pcs) of anchovy total on my pizza with small pcs of peppers. The sauce was entirely different from any pizza we have ever had at Sforno - it was bland and almost flavorless which is 180° from any pizza we have had before. It's a shame when a restaurant of any kind cheapens and or cuts back on quality ingredients for whatever reason - was the second story addition added to soon for the business to support? Did winning the Trib Live Best of the Best 2025 award listed on the door make them complacent? We will never know - but it's extremely disappointing to see this happen to a place that was fantastic up until now.

Nothing spectacular, but will probably be my go to for the area. The burger was DRY and small. It tasted good, but the bread and condiments were all quite basic. I'd expect more for a $16 burger. The fries were seasoned well and also very DRY. Maybe overcooked? The service was okay... new staff still a little doe- eyed. The owner stopped by our table and offered us waters and said hello. They did completely mess up our order and gave us someone else's burgers... eventually they realized but did not try to rectify or apologize. We requested gluten free due to allergies so this was an issue. They were pretty busy at lunch time... no hard feelings. All in all I hope to see improvements in quality and maybe some more creative ideas.
