Our first stop of 3 on our 8.2 crew tour of Pittsburgh pizza. Called about 25 mins out and our pie was hot and ready when we got there. Staff was extremely nice and the pizza was killer. Something special about that crust!

New York style pizza was pretty dang good. Had a tiny bit of flop, just like you want. Flavors were good. The Sicilian pizza wasn't my favorite but also not my go to style of pizza. My girlfriend really enjoyed it. Will say that the prices are a bit steep, $25+ a pie and $4 a topping is a bit of a deterrent. It was a pleasant surprise to see that they have gelato in store. I have seen reviews about staff being unfriendly but personally can't speak on that as I ordered on the phone and was only in long enough to pick up my pizzas.

Th pesto pizza is amzing to look at and a true work of art

The pizza is some of the best in Western PA. The sourdough that they use develops the perfect pizza crust and the cheese is the least greasy in region. Some of their pizza actially looks like art. I especially like the pesto pizza. Their sicilian pizza when available is also a treat. However, do not follow them on social media! The owner Sean is a strange person and is not nice. He loves picking fights and belittling people. He has a sign outside that states "we serve nice people." Meanwhile, he takes great joy in upsetting customers and cosplaying a New York City tough guy.

One of the best pizzas around. Great crew, great food. Ambiance is a NY pizza joint. Counter service, clean up after yourself, no drama. They've changed their recipes to include only the freshest ingredients and best ingredients and have switched to scientific backed sourdough. You best call ahead to order. Slices are in the case like 11-1 there until they're gone. He books up daily for orders. CALL AHEAD AND ORDER. Don't show up and expect to get a pie. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. It's best to call ahead. Would I go back? Absolutely!!!

My favorite local pizza spot!!!! I moved from California over here and have been searching for a pizza with high quality ingredients that does not make my stomach hurt after eating it. A Slice of New York goes above and beyond. I can eat a whole pie and not feel bloated. I stopped in today to grab a few slices and I feel like I can still get a workout in and/or run a few miles post eating. If you're ever in the area check them out!!!! Going to keep telling all my patients about this place. First time meeting the owner + fam today and they are such great people. THANK YOU A Slice of New York!!!!

We tried A Slice of NY tonight. There is small dining area inside. Cute and cozy. The employees are friendly and helpful. We had a lot of questions since it was our first time ordering. We Picked up three different kinds of pizza to take. The Sicilian is amazing! Baked crunchy cheese on the outside and soft light crust inside...it's at least an inch thick! We got the white pizza and a regular as well. Those were thin crust with great flavor! All were so good!

My wife and I drove out from Moon Township today to try the pizza that Dave Portnoy rated an 8.2 and did not disappoint! The pizza was terrific and the owner was super friendly! We give it a 10! A must for anyone who loves good quality pizza made with good quality ingredients! Matt & Heidi

My son found this place from a pizza reviewer and wanted to give it a try when we came out to visit him in college. After checking out their website, we called in the morning and basically had to place our order to support dining in at 6pm. Personally, haven't experienced that for a pizza place before. We ended up arriving early and they were able to accommodate us as the place was pretty empty inside. Everything was delicious from the garlic knots to the pepperoni pizza. The pizza was thin and crispy. They had some cheesecakes, which they get from Junior's in NYC, but selection was limited, so not sure how often they get them in. Sodas are from a bottle, so don't expect fountain drinks with free refills. All in all a good meal and would definitely return.

Frank from Wexford here. I drove just over an hour, ordered out and had two slices in the parking lot, and taking home the rest to the family. $30 for a large pepperoni. I'm from CT/NY area, and have called Pittsburgh my home for 18 years. Make no mistake, this is the best Pizza I've had in Western PA. Well worth the drive and every cent.

I saw Portnoy gave this place a 8.2 so I had to try it. Wasn't an 8.2 maybe a 7.2 at best . Portnoy definitely threw this place a bone. it's good pizza but not great pizza. Pizza look pretty just had no flavor. The pepperoni tasted off I'll give it a try again in a couple months. Maybe they were having an off day.they should focus more on Pizza less on TikTok.

Tasty wings and great hot dogs equals my kind of restaurant!…read more They have a variety of wing flavors and truly get them right. They are decently sized (seriously, why are so many wings in Pittsburgh so tiny?!) and they cook them to the perfect level of crispy. They also have both blue cheese and celery (which can be surprisingly hard to find in Pittsburgh). They have a monthly hot dog flavor and they are always creative. I think my favorite may have been their buffalo chicken dip hot dog. They also have a set menu of some traditional combos (like a Chicago dog) but have some creative options like the pineapple one. The layout is interesting with some tables in the bar area (plus bar seating, some patio seating and a back room with additional tables. It can get busy, so there is often a wait. Service is always spot on and they are great at answering questions and helping make selections. Great place to watch a game or just grab a bite and is family friendly.

Lots of high ratings - most likely due to a huge percentage of customers drinking and or not recognizing terrible quality. Pure Latrocinium

It is great to have a place that serves upscale food but isn't stuffy and pretentious. Service is always friendly and efficient. I love that they have a rotating seasonal menu. It is on the higher end price wise, but you get what you pay for. And that means nice portions, quality ingredients and excellent taste. If you are looking for a place for a great date night or a special occasion, this is a perfect place.

Got a Pinot noir wine and waters Starter=soup of the day: tomato w/ chickpea and chorizo- bold tomato flavor and lots of arugula in it. Not so much chorio but flavor was very good, not overly salty. 10/10 After the soup we put our nit-picking goggles on as we knew this was a pretty sophisticated meal. Daily special- pan seared mahi mahi with asparagus fennel kohlabi and arugula salad citrus buerre Blanc. Light citrus flavor is found thru the mahi mahi, its sauce and the salad. Very congruent. Asparagus was a neutral addition. Not flowing with or against the mahi. Fish was cooked well. Just lots of raw red onion on the salad was a little overpowering. 7/10 Red wine braised short rib- didn't ask how well done, so seems chefs choice. We have a preference towards med rare. This was cooked well done making it a tad tough-stringy. Mashed potatoes with some larger pieces of potato, but very neutral plain flavor, great with the beef sauce. Carrots cooked well, just neutral, natural flavor. Overall a very classic flavor combo that works.7/10. Would stop by again to try more dishes. Ps- when paying we noticed final bill to sign was more than first bill at table. When we asked why the difference we were told it's the credit card fee of $3. This was really the first time I've seen this at a restaurant, yet alone at a decent place like one. Would have been best for them to tell us this upfront.
