FOOD: Typical coffee shop stuff. I've tried their sandwiches and it's just microwaved. Lemon loaf is good. SERVICE: This is the reason why I only gave three stars. The service is extremely slow. Even though the staff is very nice having one person in the morning is not efficient. I rarely visit because of how much time it takes to get one drink or something as simple as an almond milk latte. For example, there was one person ahead of me in line this morning at 8 AM and it took over 20 minutes for my order to be taken. If there were two people there I would've been in and out a lot faster. A month before that I walked in and a lady that was standing behind me was complaining about how long it took and she ended up leaving and going somewhere else. I have also left before because it took too long to get up to the counter to order my drink and sometimes there is only one person ahead of me. Today it took me 36 minutes to get a plain almond milk latte. I don't know if it's because they don't have enough financial ability to have two people in the morning but they really should. A lot of other people I talk to say they don't come here in the morning because it takes too long. AMBIANCE: It's a typical coffee shop. I think it would be better if they had more lounging areas. They just have the few chairs in a circle in the back window area. Everything else are small tables for only two people or high tops. Foxtail in Ormond is my excuse to make a pitstop when I'm in the area. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. This location is gorgeous inside and they usually have a well themed board outside with something funny or cool. As for the coffee well you're in for a treat! The cold brew or regular Iced-coffee are my go to with a well balance of flavor and strength in their beans. I saw that this place opened up recently and have been meaning to check it out. The shop is decorated beautifully and I loved that they had Zach Bryan playing. I enjoyed my cold brew with orange bitters and oat milk a lot. The sandwich was just ok, next time I'll throw some hot sauce on it or something. It was nice and hot though, and the cheese was super melty. Looking forward to trying some of the other coffee options and I saw that they have ice cream as well! read more

This should be a 5-star review. Coffee was good. Ambience was good. WiFi was fast. Perfect place to do some work. It wasn't the number of issues yet cause me to give it 2 stars. I'm giving 2 stars because of how careless it seems management (and maybe staffs are). The negatives: - coffee cup lid did not fit the cup. If I had tried to drink it without checking, I would have been wearing that hot coffee. I let the barista know. They were kind and offered a mug to me. They told me that it was a bad batch of cups and said they were told they needed to work through the bad batch before getting new ones. I suspect that customers have spilled coffee on themselves. Cmon - do better. - food ... very few food options available here ... at least on this particular morning. Maybe they had a run on food that morning before I got there. I'll give them a pass on that. I'll definitely give it another chance next time I'm in the area. These negatives are fixable. read more

I want to love Foxtail but I feel like every time I'm here they are operating with minimal staff which obviously makes service slow. I came in yesterday (Saturday) and there was one sweet girl taking orders and making all coffees, including mobile orders, and running the place on her own. It took almost 30 minutes to get my two iced lattes because there was a line of people already waiting when I got there. I came in today (Sunday) again for two coffees and the same girl is here all alone working every role, and doing an excellent job at it. I feel like on a weekend especially there should be at a minimum two people working behind the counter. If someone was sick or called out, then management should be here to support their staff. This employee deserves to make double the pay this weekend for working the jobs of two baristas on the busiest shifts. read more

Seemed like a nice place. When I walked up to the door that I seen people walk out of it was locked. I was told to go around the other side no problem I walked in and I was jovial. Happy in a good mood. I got a gallon of cold brew for my wife, some chocolate and Coca-Cola. When the young man rang me up he asked me for my name I told him I wasn't interested in giving him any information. I just wanted to give him money and pay for my order. He took attitude with me and walked away, left me standing there at the register when I chose no tip because of it it charge me 15% anyway when I brought it to their attention they seemed a little bit confused so I said, never mind they could keep it even though I was upset at that young man's attitude as I was walking out I thought I should say some thing and I turned, and I suggested the next time a customer didn't want to share his name that they should just take it in stride and smile and take the money and run to which they replied... I am a Southern Californian who walks every morning to my local coffee roasters for a 16 ounce drip. When visiting my brother in Ormond Beach, I always search for a coffee shop that meets my standards. Quite frankly, there have not been any until I tried Foxtail last week. In fact, I tried it three straight days. The coffee is excellent, especially the "Midnight" dark roast. There are also some delicious baked goods including the lemon bread and blueberry muffin (albeit the blueberry muffin could use a few more blueberries}. The two baristas who served me were both friendly and efficient. But the best feature of Foxtail is the ambience. Plenty of seating with a variety of choices. They even have a bar overlooking Nova Road which is great for customers drinking alone. read more

I am so excited a new coffee shop to go to ! I ordered a vanilla caramel hot coffee latte large. I couldn't taste any flavor except for strong coffee. I asked for it remade please and got a twenty question reply and rolled eyes to beat that. First time impressions not so good. Coffee was seven something and I spent a total with tip of $9.00 and kinda would have liked to enjoy a flavorful hot coffee. A different girl helped me after she walked away and turned her back on us ! This second girl helped made my coffee again for me. She was much more professional and very nice ! The coffee was good and with a different coffee flavor and is delicious and strong ... but I mean I liked it for the deep coffee flavor but still not alot of caramel flavor latte. I guess I'm used to other coffee shops with less coffee flavor and more caramel or whatever flavors. It's just very different .....much much more deep coffee flavor here at foxtails. The second girl was SO MUCH NICER and pleasant. Whew ! A lot of work to get it and didn't feel very good in the first place for asking let alone having to beg for it. I'm kinda NOT feeling like I would feel very comfortable going back but if I did so I would just get a regular coffee.
