As a regular who always bragged about how good their smash burgers but not this trip. I understand with Bikeweek they were busy but out of three burgers they were burnt and almost un-eatable If the wait hadn't been so long we would have refused and had new prepared. Yum! Ormond Garage! We enjoyed a delicious meal at Ormond Garage right on Granada in downtown Ormond beach! Probably about 40 minutes south of St. Augustine. We were on the hunt for the perfect burger. This time I remembered to take pictures. Husband got the garage burger as a double and he really enjoyed it. He gave it an 8 out of 10. He prefers regular burgers over smash burgers, but this one was delicious. It is served on a Martin's potato roll. I got the French dip sandwich. We were expecting more from what we read in other reviews. Unfortunately, our visit was quite lackluster. Service was good but the food was average. Maybe we got the wrong items, but the waiter commented "good choice" when we ordered the Pork Belly Cuban. The Cuban was good overall, but it's served on a hoagie roll (not Cuban bread), and while the menu says "pressed" bun, we couldn't find anything to suggest it was pressed. I live in the area but today was my first visit into Ormond Garage and boy I am glad I finally got a chance to stop in! It's wierd you'd never know it was a restaurant from the front, but it has a nice outside seating area around back and inside is really cool. The steak chimichurri tacos were the best thing I've had to eat in a long time - and I eat out often. They were delicious! I'll go back just for those. My son had the Cuban which he said was good as well. The side of veggies were awesome. Can't even remember which beer we had because the food was the star. Service was efficient and friendly. Chill vibe, old (1919) garage has been turned into a bar/restaurant with a good selection of beers including sours and ciders. Solid burgers and crispy fries. What a cozy place to relax at and watch the game! My boyfriend and I have passed by this place so many times and never thought much of it... only because it truly does not look like a restaurant/bar. When we stayed the weekend in Daytona, we wanted to go day drinking and watch the Dolphins game. This was the first place that popped up and we were all for it! We were thinking it was going to be the same vibe as Ford's Garage in Orlando. We parked across the street at City Hall (free), and walked one minute the entrance. When you walk in, there are bunch of tv's on the wall and happy people just enjoying each other's company. We were self sat, and greeted with water. We ordered the mild wings, with tots and cheese curds. Our server was really nice, that he gave us a lot of dipping sauces (we love dunking our fried food)! The food was tasty and portions are huge. We had to take most of it home. The beer we tried was their Mexican beer and Hefeweizen. Simple and tasty. What we appreciated the most was how respectful everyone in the restaurant was. It was too loud, which was surprising to us because all the NFL games were on at the same time. As far as theming goes - this place is great. You do feel like you are stepping into a garage when you walk in. The ambiance is a friendly kind of busy and there are lots of decorations to keep your eyes busy! The service was also top notch. Very friendly, personable, and will hold a conversation without wanting to rush off. Unfortunately the food fell flat for me. The fries were a little too try-hard and the burger was very greasy. There are plenty of people who love a greasy burger, but I'm just not one of them. I couldn't finish the fries, but did manage to get the burger down. I was recommended this place for its burger. I got there one night after the Annual Christmas parade. They seemed busy but there was not hard to find a seat (at the bar or at a table). One server approached me and offered me a seat at a table. I waited for the menu, then a different server came to me and asked me to seat at the bar. Since I was by myself, I understood the idea of leaving the table available for groups. I waited around until they cleaned the bar area and noticed multiple tables were available and until I left (45 minutes later) nobody came to sit. The bar counter was still very sticky, btw... I order a burger (the Grage burger) and expected their best. Well, although the taste was ok, the presentation was sub par - below what a McD would give you in a paper box in their busiest location. The beer (a local amber) has a nice color but had too much caramel an almost no acid. The second beer I asked for was a fruity one and that one was a little better. In the end, the price on the check was different than the place on their printed menu. Not a big deal since everything was quite inexpensive, but I really didn't feel welcome. I definitely don't understand the reason why people chose this place when they have better options. I would say... teenagers or young adults may be attracted to this place because of the low prices and quite cool vibe. I feel generous for giving it a star. Maybe they are doing better in a slow night but I simply see no reason for returning there. read more

The good is good and usually the service is as well. Today, the service was horrible. We went for lunch around 1 PM. The big lunch crowd had left so we felt lucky there were only a few customers (4 people at one table, 2 at another and a few outside who had all been served). We received menus right away but waited, and waited and waited before our server came to ask what we would like to drink. We received our drinks promptly but we waited and waited and waited for our server to return to take our orders. I saw our server chatting at the bar with a lone customer and scrolling on his phone. I waved at him. No response. A waited a bit before waving again - still no response. When I FINALLY got his attention he waved his finger at me as if to say, 'I'm busy ... but I'll be there as soon as I'm done talking with this customer and scrolling through my phone!' Very annoying, inconsiderate and downright rude. That was enough for me. I'll not be back even if the food is good it is not worth the wait. read more
