I love trying new spots and was excited to check out this sushi spot! The decor is super fun and there's a half dozen tables to seat yourself after you order at the counter. We got the spicy garlic edamame as a starter and it was really flavorful! Good spice to it and lots of topping. For me personally, there wasn't a lot of options that fit my sushi criteria. I like raw fish rolls. There's only 3 raw options, one of which is a veggie roll. I ordered the atomic tuna roll and it was pretty good. It was a little rice heavy, but the flavor was fresh. I had pieces of a few other rolls, The Crunchy Fox, Crazy Salmon, and Red Rooster. They were all decent and had a lot of sauce on top. I felt like most of their flavor came from the sauce. So two key take aways 1. This place is super convenient and cost effective. They get your food out quick, like 10 minutes. If you're craving sushi and don't want to spend a fortune, this fits the bill. 2. If you actually enjoy raw fish and trying innovative rolls, this place might leave you wanting more. Did a DoorDash order. Yes it was during the last hour. I got angry food. 4 items were missing. No chopsticks, no soy sauce, no napkins. I'm disappointed. I tried this place for the first time and I may never order again. Sad. The food that I did receive tasted good. Such a shame. I tried calling and nobody answered. I had high hopes after reading all the rave reviews for Foxy. But it was mostly lackluster for me. The crab rangoon were probably the best part. They were pockets instead of the traditional crab rangoon folds and really tasty. But pricey for only four of them and not a lot of filling. The Crunchy Hollywood and the Crunchy Fox were literally IDENTICAL to the Crunchy Blue and Crunchy LA rolls at Blue Sushi, only they were much more expensive at Foxy. For as costly as sushi is at Foxy, I was pretty disappointed. Not horrible by any means. Meh. It could have been worse. My chief complaints would be what sushi place doesn't serve ginger and the cheap knock-off kind of wasabi that every single overnight grocery store sushi has? They forgot and didn't ask about a drink for our daughters kids meal. They were out of coconut water and while they do have popping boba and jelly, they lack the original tapioca pearls. This last complaint is minor. It's definitely decent if you know about and remember to ask for wasabi and ginger. Foxy Sushi is an absolute gem. They offer the rare combination of affordable yet high quality sushi. As for the food, it is always fresh and beautifully presented. The menu is a little unusual for a sushi restaurant. It is short compared to most sushi restaurants. You won't find your typical spicy tuna rolls on it but the menu is quite creative. My favorite so far is the Crunchy Hollywood roll. The restaurant itself is immaculate inside with an inviting outdoor patio. The 2:00 to 5:00 sushi happy hour is an unbelievable value. I've yet to try the drive-through option, but that's just another that sets Foxy Sushi apart from the competition. A fast grab and go sushi, but is it any good or is it grab and go sushi from a grocery store? Well I've got good news for you, it's great! I liked to loved all of the sushi rolls we sampled. We only did ordered cooked sushi. The flavors were great and fresh. The shrimp tempura was crunch on the outside and tender inside. I will warn that these are unique rolls and may not be assembled similar to the usual American sushi. I liken it to Tex Mex versus traditional Mexican food. You have to give it a shot. We were there during happy hour but still spent $33 for two people for entree, one side, and a drink. We had the Foxy and Crazy salmon rolls, sweet crab egg roll, and garlic edamame. The edamame was easily my favorite item. The rolls were rice and tempura heavy. Packaging is high quality even having a soy sauce dish. Flavors are as you would expect for a basic sushi. I appreciate that they sell a small selection of imported sake and beers to-go. I had the Kirin Ichiban and noticed a best by date on it of 08/23/2024 (almost 5 months ago) but it still tastes alright. But they are exceptional during happy hour from 2-5 p.m. The service is excellent. Tom, the manager, is so nice and friendly. He remembers us and greets us with a smile every time we visit. The only thing I would change is the California roll the avocado is mashed not in chunks. Reminds me of guacamole texture. This place is so cute and the food is just as good! The menu isn't super lengthy but it still has lots of great and unique options. I had the Sweet Wasabi Blaster roll and a Coconut Bubble Smoothie with Rainbow Jellies. They were both great. The smoothie tasted so good and the sushi almost matches up with "nicer places" such as blue. The only complaint I have is that the seaweed in my roll was very tough and hard to chew.
