We certainly weren't expecting a five-star dining experience, but damn... this was bad. We ordered a burger and fries, and both were served lukewarm. The chicken sandwich was initially served on the wrong bread. When the cook corrected it, they apparently took the same chicken and other ingredients from the original sandwich and put them on the new bread. The result? Another lukewarm chicken sandwich with lukewarm fries. Then came our daughter's chicken Caesar salad. As her food was being served, we were told they were out of Caesar dressing and that she would have to order something else. Why wait until the food is being served to tell us? We were there as a family and expected to eat together. Instead, we were put in the position of either having everyone eat at different times or waiting for her replacement meal--which would have meant our already lukewarm food would have been completely cold. We also ordered hot wings and specifically asked that they be cooked well done. They weren't. At every turn, something was wrong, and there seemed to be very little attention to getting the orders right or making sure the food was served hot and at the same time. Overall, just a really poor experience. Mistakes happen--we understand that. But when you combine incorrect orders, lukewarm food, an appetizer that wasn't prepared as requested, and poor communication with the customer, it adds up to a disappointing meal. We weren't expecting perfection or a five-star restaurant. We just expected our family to receive what we ordered, at a reasonable temperature, and to be able to eat together. The staff is always so sweet and give great suggestions. This is definitely our go to spot now when we visit and we even sit in the same spot each time. What an incredible find! Foxy's Landing is truly a hidden gem in Lancaster. The moment you walk in, you can feel the history and charm through all the decor and vintage aviation photos -- it's such a unique atmosphere! Being able to watch the small planes take off and land while enjoying breakfast or lunch made the experience even more special. The views are awesome and add something you just can't find anywhere else around here. Our server was super polite, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The food was delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. The only reason why they're able to charge a premium for the food here is because of the location being charming. They've added a dollar to every single menu item. It's not expected, but there's no military discount which we find odd for a place named after a military general. read more

We walked in at 12:44. It took over a 70 minutes wait for two sandwiches. The table across from us ended up walking out. The pastrami sandwich was average, nothing to write home and the french fries weren't crispy. The last time I was here, I don't recall such poor service. I won't be coming back. read more

Foxy's Landing is located at the private Fox Airfield in Lancaster which is somewhat outside the main part of town. It is one of the closest restaurants though that is normally open only until 2PM when visiting the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. It is perfect for breakfast or lunch. The restaurant is reminiscent of a typical diner. You can sit in one of the booths at the windows facing the airstrip and enjoy the view. Some of the seats in the booths are a bit worn. The food is generally good. I had the chicken breast pesto sandwich. It was much bigger than I expected. The sandwich was made with Texas size sourdough bread and a large piece of grilled chicken breast. Unfortunately, it was a bit dry so I had to add some mayo to the sandwich to improve it. Prices are typical for a diner-like environment. Service was great. The wait and service staff were very friendly and accommodating which made the dining experience enjoyable. read more

I have this thing for tiny airport cafes, so I just had to stop by Foxy's on my way through Lancaster as I was traveling back to LA from California City. I arrived a little after 1 p.m. on a day they closed at 2, and it looked like they'd been really busy. The booths and tables weren't full, but the empty ones were all still littered with dirty dishes and crumbs. I was greeted by a server who said I can pick any table I liked, and if it wasn't clean, they'd come over and clean it. I picked a table facing the windows so I could get a good view of planes landing and taking off (though there actually wasn't that much activity on the runway that day). And someone did come right over to wipe my table down and take my order. However, I waited a long time for my food until the cook/chef came over and told me my ticket must've gotten lost, because he didn't have any tickets in the kitchen. I repeated my order to him and he said he'd take care of me right away. My food did arrive pretty quickly after that, and my server came over to apologize for what happened, and said that they would give me 20% off my bill. Unfortunately, when I got my bill, there was no such discount reflected -- but honestly, it wasn't that big of a deal to me, so I didn't say anything,. The BLT on wheat LOOKED great -- but the crispy bacon was very tough, almost like jerky. Some pieces I couldn't even bite through and I had to leave them on the plate. The twisty fries were hot and greasy and fresh, well worth the paid upgrade. If I go back, I'll order something different next time and will try to arrive early enough to make the breakfast hours. I've been eating in this restaurant for over 20 years! Friends and I go periodically now because the food was always good and we enjoyed watching the airplanes! My friend and I went yesterday, I ordered the chef salad like I have so often! Usually it's excellent! Yesterday the server brought it out and it had blue cheese crumbles on it! NEVER have i seen this before! I tried my best to scrape aside the blue cheese and eat what I could! The pieces of meat, ham, Turkey and beef were cut so small you had to dig through the salad to find any meat!! The best thing about the salad was the sliced hard boiled egg! My friend ordered a sandwich with cole slaw and the server had told her they had approximately 1 serving of it left! My friend took it and she said it was awful! It definitely looked like the bottom of the jar! Wilted looking and just not fresh! My friend asked which of the deserts they had, listed on the board, the server said they had none at all!! What the heck is happening with this restaurant? Such a shame! The server did give me 20% off on my salad! I told her that on the menu it says blue cheese crumbles on a COBB salad! I eat alot at the Voyger in Mojave at the mojave air and space port which has the same menu as foxy's. Today my french dip which is one of my fav's from the Voyger. This was such a disappointment the meat was dry, they charge $3 for avocado which not only hard but brown. They really need to improve on the food going out may total was $20 and the food was old. read more

This is a breakfast and lunch cafe at the Lancaster airport and I came in for breakfast during a 5 day stay in the area. I generally like the ambiance at an airport cafe watching small planes land and take off, but I don't necessarily expect excellent food. At this place I got both. The gentleman who does the cooking has apparently worked here for many years and he is an artist at his craft. The sausage was good although I've had better. The pancakes were very thin. I'm not a fan of thin pancakes. I like mine thick or semi thick. Came here on a whim because I was hungry and close by. It was nice, empty and pretty quiet. The owner/chef (I think) was kind and funny. Breakfast was delicious (got The Perfect Landing) [side note, he admitted to me that he had messed up my scrambled eggs so he made a new batch. He could've not said anything, because the order came out extremely quick anyways. Great quiet place, I went with my group for horse rescue volunteering and they were very nice, plus they didn't mind that we smelled like horse poo! The waitress was kind and asked how everything was after we ate, I don't remember her name but she was very sweet. I had eggs, hashbrowns and bacon, I currently cannot eat gluten and they have a lot of gluten free options! The restaurant is decorated with pictures and models of war planes which I am a big fan of, I saw the Fokker Dr.1 in a glass display case as well! Great place to eat if you like planes, especially the older ones! Overall great place and I would love to be a regular there. read more

The breakfast was ok, especially if you're on a diet. Small portions including half a toast. I thought I had ordered from the kids menu. Two breakfasts came out to $28 bucks. Brought my daughter here cause we love to fly. When you enter the first set of doors to the building you can already smell the aroma of delicious food. Through the second set of doors is Foxys, ahhhhh. Upon entering we're greeting by the only waitress there(she's impressive). She asked what we'd like to drink before we chose our own seats. I asked for apple juice for myself and chocolate milk for my daughter. She told me their milk was 2 days after the expiration date and that she was scared to give it to us, I was appreciative of her honesty and chose apple juice for my daughter too. As soon as we sat down we were served our apple juices & immediately the restaurant filled up and I was worried for our one waitress. I ordered the Catalina Omelette with no Bell peppers, and the Mickey Mouse pancakes for my daughter. The food came out within 15 min which went by quickly cause we were watching the airplanes. It was hot, really good, and we watched as that one single waitress quickly & efficiently handled that whole restaurant of customers with a smile!! She was EXTREMELY impressive! I've never seen one waitress man that many tables without steam coming out of her ears!!! The food was really good, the service was amazing, the atmosphere & view were priceless! Expected way better. Bf Got the 4x2 Carlos special with pancake instead of French toast, and added home fries, sounds like alot but the portions were reeeallly small for the brealfast.
