Last year we sold our home after living in it for over a dozen years. The builder of the home lived closeby, built many homes in the area over the last 50 years and is a good friend. During the sale process, the house was inspected by the owner of this business I'm reviewing, 'Frank' of FPM , Inc Home Inspections. Both the buyers and myself chose to be there for the inspection and since we'd had lots of renovation work done over the years I wanted to make sure Frank could ask me any questions. I offered myself to help in any way during the process. At the end of the process, I asked him if he had any questions and what he thought of the house. "Beautiful place, very well remodeled" was his response. When we received a copy of the report, I was shocked. Several outlets (safe in the 50's when the house was built) needed upgrades to GFCI and instead of saying that, he scared the potential new owners by saying the house could be a death-trap and a fire hazard. He claimed several upgrades to the house were improperly installed, even though licensed professionals had done the installations, not me (the homeowner). He consistently portrayed the house as 'sketchy' and 'wondered what might be behind the walls' in his report...in the end, 95% of his recommendations were unfounded and improperly diagnosed. Two licensed contractors who were brought in to review his findings both recommended another Home inspection and were helpful with dispelling his report. Frank was very unprofessional and not well skilled at his trade. I would NOT recommend his services to anyone. read more
