I have been…read morea loyal member for several years, and this place has always been convenient and one of my favorites. However, I recently encountered a shocking situation. After a long break, I decided to come back and invited my friends to join me. One of them had an active membership, while the other did not. The friend who had a membership agreed to work out with us and guide us, even though she is not a professional trainer, just our friend. When I brought my other friend who was interested in becoming a member and joining me regularly, she was not allowed to enter because she had not registered online, and there was no one available on-site to assist her. This was despite the fact that she had a guest pass from me. We tried to resolve the situation on the spot, but instead of showing understanding, the receptionist -- a young Spanish-speaking woman of average height with long black hair, who appeared to be new and unfamiliar with me -- behaved very rudely. She refused to help, delayed us with the registration process, and made everything unnecessarily complicated instead of assisting my friend in becoming a member. This resulted in a very unpleasant experience for us. Moreover, the following day, I was denied access to my regular Zumba class with a different instructor, despite being a long-time member. The reason given was that the previous day we had worked out with our friend who was guiding us. I was extremely upset, and the situation escalated to the point where the police were called to make me leave the gym. This humiliating experience put me in a very uncomfortable and embarrassing position. I am deeply disappointed. If anything like this happens again, I am prepared to pursue legal action, as this situation is unacceptable and has left a very negative impression on me. If I do not receive a formal apology, they will lose three loyal clients, as well as future potential clients I was planning to bring with me.

I really enjoy the…read morelayout of this gym, the amount of equipment available, and how spacious it feels, which is why I would like to continue coming here. However, the cleanliness of the men's locker room, sinks, showers, and surrounding wet areas has been a consistent concern. I understand that this is a busy location with a pool, sauna, and a lot of foot traffic, so it may be difficult to keep everything spotless throughout the day. Still, I have noticed the same buildup, stains, odors, and unclean sinks across multiple visits, and I rarely see the shower area being mopped or thoroughly cleaned. I've visited other LA Fitness locations where employees regularly walk through the facility, reset equipment, wipe down areas, and inspect the locker rooms. I believe implementing more frequent locker-room inspections, scheduled shower cleanings, or even a weekly deep-cleaning routine would greatly improve this location. This could be a great gym because the space and equipment are already there. A more consistent cleaning and maintenance plan would really elevate the experience and make members feel more comfortable using the showers, sauna, and locker room.

I was beginning to have my doubts about LA fitness because I've been going to a different La fitness but then I went here which gave me a more positive perspective on LA fitness and I will be giving them a second chance instead of switching to a more expensive gym.

At $40 a month or so this membership includes classes, the option for personal training sessions, showers (with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), combination lockers, towel service, and even those Peloton bikes. Cool is a theme here. Seen as a Equinox-light version, it is located on the lower level between the 2029 and 2049 buildings adjacent from the Starbucks, Trimana, and Mickey Fine. I have enjoyed being a member, and the appeal that it is open 24/7. While this doesn't serve as my main gym, I think it is a comfy option that is far better than the poorly-ventilated David Barton's that was across the street. At the same time, this gym isn't really busy except after work and because it's membership is limited. They have state of the art equipment including those Peloton bikes, and 2 types of treadmills. Weights are minimal, but all the basics and a little more are there. It's a good small gym but the question has become whether to use a close-to-home gym or this one. It certainly will likely be nice, unless opt to pay over $200 for an Equinox membership or don't mind a place with a little drab.

Nancy completely removed that anxiety. She is a brilliant Tier 3+ trainer who understands exactly how to safely rebuild a body after treatment. She listens intently to how I am feeling each day, expertly scaling the weights and focusing on form so I can regain my muscle mass and bone density without burning out. Under her guidance, lifting has gone from a source of anxiety to a deeply empowering, therapeutic part of my week. The Culver City club itself is immaculate and pristine, which provides massive peace of mind when you are focusing on immune health. If you are navigating life after a major health battle and want a trainer who blends elite technical knowledge with profound empathy and safety, I cannot recommend Nancy enough. She helped me reclaim my strength.

Before signing up, I specifically asked about early morning opening hours since I really enjoy working out in the mornings, and that ended up being a great fit for me. Big thanks to Dariana from the sales team, always friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. I ended up canceling my membership after relocating, but I stayed a little over a year and had a very solid experience overall. The cardio classes were especially great, shoutout to Berbard, those sessions were no joke What I liked most is that it feels more like a lifestyle club than just a gym. The space is very clean, the vibe is upscale but comfortable, and if you avoid peak hours, you can finish your workout without waiting for equipment. The only minor downside is that some overly chatty members tend to camp on machines, so you have to be a bit patient at times. Overall, it was a really good experience, and I would definitely consider Equinox again if the location made sense for me.
