I had baby squid which was soft and sublime. I also had the pork that was unusually tender. And the cheesecake was like they do it in the Basque region. Overall, great food. Add to that the atmosphere, view, and excellent service and this place is a winner. read more

Three of us went to Fragata last night for dinner. The food was spectacular. There was a lot of depth to the broth in the seafood bisque and the wild sea bass in fennel sauce was spectacular. Would also highly recommend the tuna tartar. Service was also spot on! read more

Average food and slow service. Burrata was flavorless, octopus was mediocre and a little chewy, it had potatoes with a heavy cream sauce that doesn't go with octopus. They give you a cold piece of bread with nothing to spread on it then charge you 1.95 per person. The service was slow. The only positive is that it is across from the beach. This place was meant for nighttime dining al fresco. The rocky outcropping forms part of the outdoor space and is warmly lit at night; the atmosphere romantic, but not exclusively so. I dined alone and didn't feel like every table's third wheel (see review on Casa Calvet...). To start: Sea bass carpaccio Thinly sliced sea bass in lime juice with finely diced white onion and chives drizzled in olive oil. It was a little heavy on the onion and I could have enjoyed a thicker slice of sea bass, but still a nice refreshing start to the meal. Main course: Tuna Tataki with arugula salad A generous portion of tuna - more than twice the amount I expected. Light sauce of ginger and soy - not overpowering or too much. Small arugula salad with diced red and green peppers was the right complement to the tuna. Postre: Carmelized apple tart Served with what I can only describe as cheesecake ice cream. I've noticed that desserts in Barcelona often come with an ice cream labeled as cheese ice cream - meant to ask and forgot, but it's good is all you need to know! In summary: one of the best meals I had in Spain! Great atmosphere, great food, pleasant attentive wait staff. Definitely be back next time I'm in Sitges! read more

Nouvelle is the new 'vieux' for good reason, it's day has passed - expensive and not filling. I've been here before and the food was imaginative and rewarding. Unless someone can correct me it has distilled itself in to something too clever for its own good, a regression to 'nouvelle'. The flavours are good, but lacking the intensity that justifies it's raisin d'être. Tasty at half the price but feeling more manufactured than crafted to justify the price. The location is precious but the overall experience a broken promise for me. Kind of worth it but don't put yourself out. Ps the staff and service are great. read more

A large and great terrace is its true strong point. In the summer it is an amazing place with a nice view of the beach and church atop. Service is pretty good and professional. Pretty varied menu - we had muscles in txacoli cream sauce and coca de escalivada (typical thin crusty bread topped with grilled peppers eggplant and onions), and hake with calamaris and crunchy leek in cream sauce. All the dishes were very fresh and tasty, except the muscles as they were all overcooked and I am just not a fan of the cream sauce for this molusc. Good spot either way! read more

The menu has many wonderful items however some of the ones not listed will delight you. I'm speaking of the beauty you'll find in their surroundings, especially at night. Superb experience. This bustling restaurant in the heart of Sitges was recommended to me by a local and did not disappoint. In fact it exceeded my expectations on every level. The food was delicious, attractive and varied. The service was friendly, helpful and supremely conscientious. The ambiance was casual, yet poised. When I arrived I was politely told that I would have to wait 15 minutes for a table in the location I requested. I asked if I could get a drink while I waited, fully anticipating directions to the bar. Instead, the mature d asked if I would like a glass of cava (Spain's version of champagne) and brought me a complimentary glass. What a wonderful dining experience! We had lunch here. We ate outside with a view of the sea. The food could not have been better! I had paella, which was better than any place I tried in Barcelona. The waitress did not speak English but she was so helpful and the gratis gazpacho, and the chocolates with hazelnuts served with my expresso were perfect. I went to "Fragata" last night with my family as it was recommended by the hotel I was staying at. When we arrived I had high expectations considering how nice it looked and since it was clearly fine dining. To get this off my chest right away... my experience was not good. I ordered the Rib Eye which is for two people, while the others ordered the Pork Suckling and the Wild Sea Bass. We are American and we clearly said the the waiter "Joel" what we had ordered. I didn't think this was a problem at the time. We ordered appetizers which were O.K. But nothing special. The food took around twenty minutes to come and to my surprise, Joel has completely messed up the order. He brought two orders of the Pork Suckling even though we ordered one. He never even ordered the Rib Eye, and he knew he screwed up big time. We then had to wait another twenty minutes for our meal, which really pissed me off considering the others had finished before we even got ours. After a long wait for the Rib Eye, Joel finally served it and it looked delicious.... UNTIL I realised he messed up once again. We clearly asked for the meat to be cooked MEDIUM WELL. The meat was cooked MEDIUM RARE. I didn't think there was any way Joel could mess up more, but he just honestly kept surprising me that he did. His manager kept trying to charm us and talk to us about our vacation hoping I wouldn't write a review of his restaurant but there was no way I wasn't after that atrocious performance. If you want a good meal and actual GOOD service I recommend you find another restaurant along the beach. Don't go to "Fragata", but if you do and your native language is English, make sure "Joel" isn't your waiter. It's highly likely he'll screw up the order. read more
