We had some very high expectations since this was the award-winning chef Marc Gascon's new venue, but was met and exceeded. There was a little bit of snafu about reservations as we walked by the place to book a table for the next day and somehow the server I gave my name and number didn't enter it in the guestbook. Anyway, our party of 3 was accommodated with a table for 2 - no matter, there was enough room. One funny thing was our server immediately brought out a bottle of Cava and asked us if we'd like some, and since in a couple of other places it was complimentary I said yes, he brought out a cold bucket and served it. That was okay, too, as I really wanted it anyway. On to the food - we had the patatas bravas(okay) and tomato salad with anchovies and tuna belly(excellent), Salmon Tartar (very good). My daughter had the Clams from Carril (excellent), wife had the grilled Prawns, which came in it's own little grill (excellent) and I had Roasted Monkfish(very good). There was also a special Mushroom dish which we ordered (good). For dessert they had something called Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic - made to look like whipped cream, it packs a punch. Daughter had the Fresh Cheese Flan. Washed down with Cava, it was a perfect meal at a reasonable price.

Mouthwatering!!!! Service is beyond fabulous. Ordered the rib-eye which literally melted in my mouth. Constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was OK. Great recommendations with dessert, was on point. On the 6th floor is their roof-top which looked very trendy and enticing. It's a must if you are in Barcelona. Make you you make reservations ahead.

This place was so good til my partner and I had to eat there a second time. I'll save you the bit about how great the food was... i would even say that's the obvious, but you've gotta try it for yourself. The staff was warm and welcoming to everyone in the establishment. If it's your first time, or second, I would suggest having an after dinner drink on the rooftop bar. It's definitely worth it.

Absolutely beautiful, homey, and DELICIOUS. The appetizers consisting of Mediterranean and Spanish flare were stunning. The service in petite Le Cruset crocks were the things of a hostess' dreams. For main courses, I would have to reccomend the stellar risotto- stay away from the gnocchi. While the dumplings were dressed in a delicious truffled cream, the gnocchi themselves were made from waxy potatoes which are not the traditional choice due to the gluey and rubbery nature of the spud when kneeded. The flavors were there, the texture was wrong. The risotto was impeccable. Perfect bite and texture. What a great night!

The food was excellent. Each dish was better than it sounded on the menu, and presentation was surprising each time. The food was three dimensional including unique textures, flavors and presententation. The service was outstanding. including personal stories about Marc (owner/chef) and making helpful recommendations on the food.

My Greek salad was very authentic and was as good as any salad I had while I lived in Greece. Very fresh vegetables, great Feta and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp scampi under the Tapas menu with garlic was equally good and oh so tasty. The smallish inside restaurant is best described as rustic and a tad warm. Instead I opted for the outside dining area, which has just a few tables but offered a very pleasant ambiance in the small side street this business is located on with low foot traffic and a very nice breeze on the warm day I dined here. The relaxed dining on the outside is definitely the way to go here especially during the summer months. From a negative standpoint, certain aspects of the service were too slow. I was seated pretty quickly upon arrival but I waited a tad bit too long to get my order in. Once ordered though, the food came pretty quickly on a positive note. However, for all intents and purposes the service stopped at that point where I had no follow up and literally had to walk inside the business to get my bill. Overall, the dining experience was still great for me slow service aside as the quality of the food and outdoor ambiance far outweighed the negatives. I would say if you are in a bit of there rush you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a relaxing dining experience with great food than this business will be definitely fit the bill!

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.

I had no idea how huge and elegant the restaurant was until I went inside to use the bathroom before leaving. We were there just after 7 pm so it wasn't as busy as I imagine it will get later, because in Barcelona, people don't have dinner until 9 or 10 PM. We ordered fresh salmon with dill, coroquetas de jamón iberico, a cod fritter, and chicken cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle sauce. We also ordered the pan with tomate, of course to soak up the truffle sauce. The cannelloni was amazing! I mean it melted in your mouth amazing!! After our snacks... We ordered dessert. We ordered their homemade Belgian chocolate ice cream, which is hands-down, the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten. And we also ordered their version of a crème brûlée called crema Catalonya! Both desserts were amazing, however, I highly recommend the Belgian chocolate ice cream. Overall, the experience was amazing and I hope to pop in again before we leave. Enjoy!

Both my son and I are very picky about Lebanese food having been spoiled by the excellent Lebanese in our home town Los Angeles, so we ordered with trepidation. The very first must-try dish immediately set our minds at ease: please, do yourselves a favor and order their Fatoush salad. It's done so right, juicy tangy, bursting with flavors and the pita in the salad is made into a curly flower and gives a delicious crunch. We liked the dish of garbanzo and yogurt a bit less, as it was quite heavy and lacked flavor. My son was very pleased with shish tavouk with chicken, and I loved my halloumi dish. The service was slow (as everywhere in Barcelona) but it was efficient, and our Egyptian waiter had good recommendations for everything. He was funny and personable.
