As our rabbi, however, we were able to forge a different relationship- one where it was clear that my now-husband's and my interests would be protected even where (as with every wedding) there many opinions about how our ceremony should proceed. When we first met with Gloria, we were set on having a non-denominational wedding, with the inclusion of a few Jewish traditions. I grew up as a reform New-York Jew, and my now-husband, grew up a California Mormon. Coming from such disparate backgrounds, we were worried that the inclusion of "too much" Judaism would alienate our other wedding guests, but that fear could not have been more unfounded. Gloria takes the time to explain all of the parts of a Jewish wedding both in the meetings to create the ceremony, and during the wedding itself. Every prayer (whether in Hebrew or English) was given a context within our wedding and in the Jewish tradition. This level of personalization and Gloria's desire to be truly inclusive, allowed our Jewish-Catholic-Mormon guests to feel like they belonged together. In fact, my from-Italy, Roman Catholic grandmother was one of the biggest fans of my ceremony! We are so happy that we decided to include more, not fewer Jewish traditions at Gloria's suggestion, because it gave our ceremony a different kind of significance and exposed our non-Jewish guests to an expression of love that they may not have experienced before. We cannot thank Gloria enough for the time and effort she invested in our ceremony, and her warmth and humor at the wedding helped unite our families into one!

I initially was with another planner who got very sick and was recommended Berenice. I was apprehensive with the wedding jitters changing planners, but it was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. Berenice was organized having multiple portfolios with my vision in tow. Multiple layouts pictures, and google docs to create my vision meeting her on the first day after just one phone call. She explained everything in detail and nothing I wanted was over the top and we ALWAYS stayed in budget. With a planner you want someone who is creative so that things that may be financially out of reach they can manipulate and create it for you. Berenice did that multiple times. My guests were astounded with the details all spear-headed by Berenice. Everything I asked for I got and then some, nothing was out of reach. Up until the day of the wedding Berenice had added all these details that made the guests really in awe. On my wedding day Berenice made sure everything ran smooth and on time having walkie talkies lookin like the CIA! Did I mention all the vendors that she found that were high quality but gave us good prices because they knew her (One that made us a wooden seating chart decorated with beautiful greenery). Berenice is also a calligrapher, and wrote out all of our wedding items in this beautiful cursive! I can't put into words how awesome she is. If you want someone who is creative, organized, dependable, loves meeting in person, goes above and beyond, Professional, Kind, Smart, and will be a pitbull if you need it. She was so amazing and helpful to make my wedding day special…read more Beyond the words "outdoor and rustic", less than three weeks before the Bid Day, my (soon to be) husband and I were still not sure of the look we wanted for our wedding. Jenn used her magic touch to create a beautiful, simple, yet elegant spring picnic theme. Keeping my budget in mind, she walked me hand-in-hand through several stores looking for the perfect center pieces. Her creativity shined through when i picked up a few lanterns I liked, but had no idea what to do with. Right there in the store she created several beautiful examples for me of what they could look like. I'm pretty sure a store clerk copied it for the store window after we left. :) In addition to my wedding, Jen also set up our beach house for the rehearsal dinner. We were married the day before Easter and keeping all attendees in mind, she surprised the children with fun things to do during the rehearsal dinner, including fun games and Easter egg painting. I loved everything Jenn created for our wedding. I seriously had tears going down my face when I saw the reception area for the first time, fortunately that was before the make-up was applied. They were flexible with everything-- the time, the place, the ceremony. She has a huge packet of sample ceremonies, so we picked one and then swapped some more personal things in like our own vows and a reading we selected. During the ceremony, Judie spoke with such a joyful tone, I truly felt like she knew us and was so happy we were getting married. Liam is the photographer, and while he might seem a little shy at first, he is a BLAST to work with. I told him that we'd like nice, bright photos, and also expressed my concern regarding some ugly fence in the background. He really made everything work, and we had a great time during our one-hour photo shoot. We got 50 pictures back (less than a week later) and LOVE every single one of them. We met her and Liam in the Park, the ceremony was lovely and exactly what we wanted. It was SOOOOO COLD that day, we called it early on photos (we got two hours with the package we bought). I think we froze Judie to near death, as well as my mother-in-law, but we still got some very nice pictures. Prices were very reasonable as well, if you price two hours with a photographer in NYC, you will find that these two offer a great deal.

I ordered lilies to be sent as a loose English garden arrangement, not tight and structured. The arrangement cost a total of $435 and legit looks like it came from my local grocery store. It was hideous, and looked like tall soldiers with ugly greenery around you would find in an arrangement pre-made at the store. The recipients were not happy either. Just overall disappointed and would not use Ovando again when sending flowers in New York. Only giving two stars because the person who took my order was really helpful and nice. I asked for a partial refund and they gave me $54, laughable. I could have made a better arrangement myself from Trader Joe's lilies. Do not use Ovando, you're better off visiting your local grocery store. Wasn't planning on writing this review but dealing with them after the fact and receiving that refund is insulting.

I had minimal contact with her…read moreuntil the rehearsal and wedding, but heard over the course of several months the many incident of items that she either did poorly, incorrectly or just not at all. Brief list of examples: she often took up to a week to return phone call from the bride, she double booked the bride on more than one occasion for important appointments, she was rude to the church clergy and neglected to properly arrange bride and groom's limo from the church to the reception so they ended up riding the shuttle bus with the guests. If you are looking for someone with attention to detail, this is not the planner for you.
