He inserted earphones during the move, which made communication unnecessarily difficult and came across as disengaged and inconsiderate. There was little effort to be polite, welcoming, or collaborative, which is the bare minimum you expect when trusting people to handle your belongings. The second mover Rocco C. was somewhat more professional and did offer occasional advice, which I appreciated. However, when it came time to pack the cube, his approach felt careless and dismissive of my concerns. Rather than being helpful and solution-oriented, the process created more stress and confusion, ultimately causing additional headaches instead of providing the support I hired movers for in the first place. My biggest issue was with the office representative, Mari. Pricing was not communicated transparently. I was not informed ahead of time that charges were calculated per item moved rather than per hour, which led to unexpected and significantly higher costs. The office representative was adamant in charging me extra for an item that we previously discussed. The way this was handled felt misleading and came across as an attempt to overcharge. Overall, the experience lacked professionalism, clear communication, and customer care. I absolutely do NOT recommend using this company. Don't be swayed by any discounts or these five star reviews. We relocated our Mom to assisted living, which was more stressful than a standard move. Our Move Consultant, Mari, was outstanding and compassionate. I would give them 4.5 stars, but that's not an option in the ratings…read more I used this company 5 times in the past 6 mos...my wife and I each moved from our apartments, we moved out of our apartment and into storage (which they offer at a great deal), and then finally again to our new place. These guys are professional movers. Their job is to pick something up, wrap the bejesus out of it with a roll of tape (even if it's just a tea cup mind you), and then load it up, unload and unwrap. They move quickly, they don't talk, and they just execute the job. That's why they're called movers. Now for the finer details: are they gently with the boxes? As with all movers, this is a hit or miss. They don't drop boxes, but they do assume you packaged them carefully. Your extremely fragile items I would leave for you to move yourself - doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. They handled my LCD TV no problem, wrapping it in blanket and cardboard to protect screen. When they disassembled my bed and moved the long posts, they were careful not to bang into walls. They were considerate with our lamps as well. Another reviewer mentioned they tracked dirt into her apartment. Give these guys a break - they are there to move and then move FAST. They not gonna wipe their feet every time they enter your place. You're SOL if it rains and you live in a cattle ranch with any mover!!! Garnett was my point man when it cAme to scheduling with them. Professional, explained everything in detail including charges and breakdown (by hour and minimum). Let's be honest here...we all tend to underestimate the move when we tell them what we actually have. They are on a right schedule and need to coordinate with other moves for the day. So be honest with how much garbage you want them to lug around. You're not saving yourself a dime when you not honest. Garnett went above and beyond for me when I needed to get my stuff out of their storage and into my new place (with two days notice)!!! I will always appreciate that and I can say everything was inventoried properly and returned without a problem!!!! Can't complain about that. I must comment that there was this one mover, a large guy who literally looked like Stelio Kontos from the cartoon American Dad. He must have been 6'6" or something. Real pleasant guy,very friendly and nice. He needed to use the bathroom so I let him - must have splashed urine all over the place. The residue smelled strong of uric acid/nitrogen by-products. Would really lead me to believe this guy needs to get his kidneys checked out...unless he's snacking on plant fertilizer between moves! You need a mover? All of our belongings were in an Elmsford storage facility, 3 total units on the 3rd floor. We called Willie and he met us there to look at what we had, and said he would get us an estimate that afternoon. Sure enough, the quote was emailed that day. His pricing was very competitive. Willie was professional & really pleasant with every interaction we had with him. Carla in the main office called to confirm our move date and all information, she was also VERY PLEASANT & PROFESSIONAL! Two days before the move, we had a change in move dates. I spoke with Carla and she immediately confirmed that they would work with us on the date change. On moving day, the crew was there on schedule (even a bit early). They got right to work- these guys were AWESOME! I was nervous that the way we loaded up our storage units, it might have been an issue, but they were up to the task! The crew manager packed & wrapped our belongings with care. The truck was loaded perfectly and right on time! Once at our home, they started on unloading. They even arrived wearing a fresh change of t-shirts on this hot summer day. They placed everything in the house with care, and they finished ahead of schedule! It has been in business since 1854.(not1954). Trish and Scott Many are the fifth generation of the family to operate the company. There was not a nick or scratch in our house or the condo that we moved into. Great job and certainly enough to warrant a 5 Star rating. However, Many's goes beyond what any other company does. A door in our kitchen broke the evening before the move and Scott fixed it. My desk could not fit in my office in the condo. Scott took off 2 legs that were glued to the top, moved the desk into the office and restored the desk to better condition than before. Same with s bar getting into the basement which Scott advised would not fit down the staircase. Not sure what he did, but the bar is sitting in our basement. Whether you are moving to a new residence or just want Many's to move furniture around your current residence, Many's has to be your choice. The crew is great. Polite, friendly and very careful.
