Biggest rip-off in Marin County, maybe the USA, for framing a print. Charged me almost $1,000.00, including using plexiglass, which was a mistake. Another shop in Marin (AC Graphics) charged me 2/3 less for a similarly sized print with similar matting and frame using art glass. AC Graphics literally had it done in one day. Frame Crafters took 7 weeks, and that was with frequent phone calls to check when it would be completed. Unless you're super wealthy and money and lousy service is no concern of yours, avoid this place like the plague!! read more

Frame Crafters was a great choice for the project my boss had in mind. He had an old photograph that had bubbling and needed a new backing on the frame. Tim suggested I take the old photo to Image Flow in San Anselmo for a digital photo and some photo restoration of the image. When I got the new photo back I returned to Tim for the framing. Tim has a variety of regular glass and a museum glass. I ended up choosing a museum acrylic because the picture is going to be mailed and it's safer to send than glass. The new acrylic, backing, spacers, and hanging wire all together came to $245. I paid a deposit by phone of $125. This is a great place to get the best of the best. read more

We came here to get one of my boyfriend's late mom's paintings custom framed. It was a very sentimental process and we were really nervous about handing off something so irreplaceable to strangers to handle. The owner of the shop showed us a wide selection of frames that would match the aesthetic of the painting, and we found something really unique that we loved. The price we were quoted was in the low 400s, but we were able to snag $60 off with the Yelp check-in deal. The painting came back in under 4 weeks (which was the quoted time) and looked phenomenal! I came in with a large framed photograph that needed repair. The photo had come unattached from the mat board and backing was in bad shape. Gil gave it a thorough inspection and gave me a very reasonable price to get it repaired and suitable to hang. This wasn't some fine art-quality photo, just an enlargement of a sentimental photo in an inexpensive frame with plastic (not glass). I mention this because although this was not an expensive "piece", Gil treated it as though it were. He didn't make any snide remarks about the inexpensive frame or poor quality backing, he didn't try to up-sell a new frame or glass. He was very respectful and more than willing to get it repaired at a reasonable cost. It was completed sooner than expected and when I picked it up I was thrilled to see that it looked so much nicer. Same frame, same mat board, new backing and hanger. Just what I wanted and ready to install! read more

We had five paintings framed at top price and although they came out looking nice the owner Christa did not want to follow thru to the end as originally agreed and individually wrap the items in plastic. Instead she talked about how over worked she is and she would show me how to wrap them instead. She was hostile and rude which surprised me since it took her 2 minutes to finish the job. I recommend you only pay 1/2 up front and the rest when the job is completed per agreement. read more

These guys did a great job with framing a cherished photo of ours, but also a terrific job of customer service. I kept forgetting to pick up my frame, and they ended up holding it for me for twelve months. I got a few friendly reminders (with absolutely no impatience or annoyance shown by them), just to ask if I still wanted the frame. Each time I apologized for forgetting to come in and subsequently forgot again to pick up my frame.
