Isaac was thoughtful, design-aware, thorough and did a great installation of a heavy wall mirror and two wall pieces.

The main engineers/artists for this piece (Ron Jensen and Warren Trezevant) have done work for Pixar Animation Studios along with other applications in art and technology, and they've done a remarkable job with the Sonic Runway. The fact that you can walk through this structure while watching the colors move to different songs makes it even more impressive and exciting. And right next to it, the City Hall Rotunda/event center was also beautifully lit in a red hue this past Sunday, which added a nice touch to the surroundings. The music is pretty random (we heard some slow house music and soft rock while we were there). They also have special events on certain days with specific DJs/musicians setting the mood. It was easy to pay a visit and walk through the Sonic Runway while grabbing dinner at a nearby restaurant during the weekend. We spent probably no more than 10-12 minutes here, but it was certainly worth our time. It's free to visit, with the music and light show from 5pm-12midnight daily.

There's a roller skate group that meets on City Hall Plaza on Tuesday evenings, too. It's fun to ride a bike, scooter, or skateboard through the tunnel of lights but please be respectful of pedestrians enjoying the Sonic Runway. You can watch the Sonic Runway from Restaurant Rollati on the ground floor of Miro Towers, or Island Taste between the church and Vintage Towers. There is free evening parking in two nearby City garages: one next door to Miro Towers with entrances on 4th and 5th Streets (employee parking until 6PM, free public parking 6-10PM) and another on the other side of City Hall. That garage gives 90 minutes free parking days or evenings at 4th and San Fernando over the former Flames Restaurant which is now Home Eat authentic Chinese cuisine). There are Chargepoint electric chargers in the City garages and a few street spaces by Miro Towers, but they are slow J1772chargers and there's a $1.25 connection fee so not the best unless you're going to stay in the area for a meal, a haircut, or shopping (the actual electricity rates are good). This block also serves as a transit center for VTA, with 11 VTA routes stopping here: #22, 23, 64A, 64B, 66, 68, 72, 73, 500, 522, 523. Although there are signs for SC Metro Hwy 17 Express, it only stops here a few times a day in the morning to drop off at City Hall/SJSU and in the evening to pick up. Most Hwy 17 Express runs start or end at Diridon Station.
