I just found this bakery located in the Allwood section of Clifton. It's sorta hidden on Market St. among the other storefronts. The service was very nice and the day I stopped in I was only looking for a couple of round rolls. The rolls were solid. This is the closest bakery. The service is friendly. They have a wide selection of cookies and cake. They even have ice-cream (though not tried it). The downside is when I ask them to slice bread, it is pretty arbitary. Sometimes they slice it very thick and sometimes very thin. Do not seem to have a standard size they use. read more

When I asked the nose hooped millennial about Keto, I initially got the dear in the headlights look. She then said that she thought that they may have Keto options sometimes but couldn't tell me what or when. I asked what kind of cake was inside the mocha cake, the counter girl told me chocolate which is why I got the cake. asked her to write happy birthday on the cake and had to wait 20 mins for that to be done. Brought the cake to the party and cut it open to find vanilla cake, not chocolate and the cake must have been a week stale, and was inedible. If you want stale bread at exorbitant prices, this is the place to shop. I recently purchased two Kaiser rolls from them for $2. The first one I ate, that day, was a bit tough but ok. The second that I ate the next day was hard as a rock. I could barely cut it. I compare this to when I purchase Kaiser rolls in my local supermarket. I usually get a package of 6 rolls for $2 and they stay reasonably fresh for several days. Francesca's rolls were 3 times the cost, and half the value. The bakery does have one thing going for it - convenience. It's closer to my home than any of the supermarkets so if I need something in a hurry, they are more convenient. But, even so, I think I'd rather go out of my way to drive to the nearest supermarket and get something that will last a few days than shop here for something that is more expensive but won't last. read more

I really wanted to love this place because it's so close to my house. I only ordered 2 things, a guava pastry and coffee. The first cup of coffee she poured me was from a pot that was down to just a tiny bit at the bottom sitting on the hot burner. I thought to myself maybe it hasnt been sitting that long, well I was wrong. It was long enough to have burned and have that awful burned hot coffee taste so while making a face she poured me a new coffee which was better. The so called guava pastry was awful. Shop right even makes them better. It was soggy and filled with something that could have been guava but maybe was also something else because it was sweet with no distinct flavor. This place cant hold up to my tried and true favorites such as nicolo's in Montclair or Cafe Rombiolo in Bloomfield for guava pastry. Unfortunately it seems to have followed in the footsteps of allwood bakery which was last in that location and pretty awful too. read more
