I stopped by for a quote, and from the start, J.T. was very transparent with us and told us that pricing would depend on how perfect we wanted the damage to look after the fix. He gave us a very fair price for an intermediate fix, which we decided to go with. Later on, we got a phone call that the fix was quicker than they thought, and they were knocking the price down even further. It's hard to come by this kind of honesty. Also, had a great conversation with the owner of the business about a modified Jeep he gave me a ride in to a rental car place. Would definitely love to give more business to this place. They sold me a diagnostic check costing $209. After that was done, I was informed that it needed to go to stage 2, costing an untold amount, and it was unclear. They told me I would need to leave the car overnight, when over the phone Ty had made it sound like what I needed would take a few hours at most. The saving grace was the mechanic who told me, moments before I took their custom-wrapped shuttle vehicle to my apartment, who shot straight and told me it would cost more than the car to have what they intended to do for stage 2 diagnostics. I was not made aware of the potential costs before being ushered to the shuttle to my apartment. I only found out because I had to retrieve things from my car and spoke with the man doing the actual work. I verbally chewed out Brown, and to his credit, he accepted the ire with a calm manner and spoke kindly, which I really respect, but to be fair, he never made it clear what the stage 2 diagnostics comprised of and what the projected cost would be, allowing me to assume things were still heading in a clear direction. The reality was that the mechanic had never done this sort of computer work before and would need to build a custom reader. I did not find out until I spoke with the mechanic about what was actually happening. What made this so frustrating was that I told Brown I was down to my last dollar and borrowing money. I do not feel as if the best effort was made toward transparency of cost when it really mattered. I'm used to speaking with an honest, hardworking mechanic.

Recently took our car for an oil change to the west Chester location where we had been taking our…read morecars for quite some time. This time it was different though. The technicians recommended that we replace a part as it was leaking fluid all over the engine, for a cost of over $1400. They also suggested various other repairs. When we got back home there was definitely oil dripping from the car. After four days we decided to get a second opinion from our dealer. They said the recent oil change was not done properly with the filter not being inserted correctly and there was a lot of oil spill everywhere. They cleaned up all the oil and checked everything and advised us that the car was in perfect condition and not leaking any fluids. Will not go back to this Firestone location anymore.
