She had gotten worse and we were afraid to go on. Made an appointment and took her in to be seen. Dr. Powell was very understanding, took his time and listened to our woes, rttan the necessary tests and made a very plausible conclusion. Within a day she was back to her old self. Loves her food and even takes her medicine without hesitation. Thank you Dr. Powell, you are a regular Dr. Pol. Jim & Margaret Haidet Upland, CA

I had to call multiple times to get through later in the day and I finally received a call back where I was told my dog had went through sugary fine and was able to be picked up. During this call I was placed on hold, I heard a nurse mention something and he told me well apparently he is having trouble breathing let me go check him we may need to keep him overnight. when he came back on the line I was told that unfortunately my dog had actually passed away an hour ago while he was at lunch. He had laid on his side and suffocated. Not only is this outrageous they then still charged me for the sugary. When I take my animal to a vet I assume it will be monitored. Also I failed to mention when I picked him up his eyes were open. He had laid back there awake and dying alone. This is also the second dog I have lost to this vet clinic, I will not be returning.

As previous mentions suggest, she wasn't the best at customer service. The new owner is fabulous. We started boarding our dog here again, after a few friends reassured us that the new ownership brought about essential changes in both customer service and quality of pet care. Their staff even took the time to give me a quick tour of the facility, as I was quite nervous to leave my furbaby there after a bad experience years before. Steinie (our little dog) seemed to do okay there, and the weekend staff is so sweet-- Riley takes the time to get to know all the dogs' names and can talk about their personalities and quirks like they are her own dogs. I appreciate that Fantastic Fido's hires folks that truly care about dogs, and I am thrilled that the ownership change brought about major improvements. We also attended their wine + paint party there and it was lovely. Overall, it is a fantastic place!

She was there for 23 hours and we were charged for two days of boarding and another $10 for picking her up during their "closed" hours. We picked her up at 1pm and apparently you are charged more if you pick your dog up between 10am-2:30pm. The total cost for 23 hours of boarding was $104.50. We will continue to take our dog here for daycare, but will never board her here, again. It was a total ripoff.

Countryside Veterinary Clinic - My Barbara Bush, waiting in the exam room.

Our total time at the vet was 2.5hrs for 10min of time with the vet for a booster shot, and to get some general vet advice about my dog's ear hair and joint health. They don't provide an option to call from home or check in online, so clients are forced to spend 2 hours in a crowded waiting room with other sick/anxious animals which sucks. You can wait outside or in your car and they'll call you once they're ready, but they don't have a real outdoor waiting area and their parking lot is small. I do appreciate not needing to make an appointment to come to Countryside, but as I noted above, there are downsides. And the clinic was even more crowded when we walked out of the exam room. Honestly, I feel bad for the staff for having to always come to work know knowing what kind of day it'll be. With all that being said, I find the staff here friendly and knowledgeable. They have always given me the estimated cost for any surgeries, lab work, or additional testing that has been needed/recommended for my animals. I still recommend this place but avoid going in on Saturday, if you can.

In January 2023, I brought my cat to these people because I thought she was acting as if something…read morewas stuck in her throat and she was not eating. They charged me, at least, $450 for what included an exam ($95 for him to draw back the corners of her mouth and look at her teeth and then comb fingers through her fur), a shot of antibiotic, and a shot of cortisone, which they assured me would fix her up for a couple of weeks. (It didn't.) Their professional, medical diagnosis was, "She's got a bad mouth." I asked for clarification, and I got robotic responses, such a, "I already explained that to you." They didn't. Then they wanted me to sign a paper saying that they could pull some or all of her teeth, as they saw fit, and charge me accordingly to the tune of $1,000. They said this would fix the problem. I did not believe them. As it turns out, the cat has a dislocated jaw (something like TMJ) and we are now treating her with chiropractic adjustments. She is slowly improving, but this, "misdiagnosis" cost us precious time and a lot of unnecessary pain and lost sleep. If you really want help for your best friend and family member, you will probably have to search outside the ruthless, lawless city of St. Joseph and go to the nicer parts of Kansas City.
