I read a number of yelp reviews prior to deciding to have Francisco Rodriguez help me with my traffic ticket. They were spot on. Francisco offers a very efficient way to defend yourself. After the initial correspondence and payment my traffic ticket was handled completely without any more additional time involvement/appearances. A few months later I received notification that it was dismissed and a couple months later I received my refund check for the bail amount for the ticket (which is the record you need to keep indicating the ticket was dismissed). If you don't have the time to deal with or you are blocked from taking traffic school, employing Francisco to navigate the legal hurdles to clear this off your record makes great business sense versus letting insurance stick you for several years of nasty insurance rate hikes. Important to know there are no guarantees that he will be able to get it dismissed, but he claims to have a high success rate. That was good enough for me coupled with the yelp reviews. Francisco may be great on speeding tickets, but for DUI, save your money. As Francisco himself will tell you, the judge's options are very limited under CA law. So what do you get for a $5000 retainer, and a $500/hr fee schedule? Francisco will take a loooong time explaining the law and he will take care of all the filings. But here is what happened to me: -- I was convicted of a 'wet reckless' (with a .1 BAC), which is basically the same as a DUI (as Francisco explained to me); in other words, I was convicted of pretty much the same thing I was charged with. -- Although I was convicted of a wet reckless, Francisco failed to tell me that the judge actually demanded that I take the DUI course -- he later corrected this, but it cost me time and money to rectify; -- Francisco seldom answers emails. You have to catch this guy on the phone. No receptionist. He keeps you in the dark on progress unless you catch him and ask. -- I never received all of the final paperwork spelling out the details of my judgement -- Still can't explain why I had to take the DUI course for a wet reckless conviction (which has a shorter course): -- I got no help from him on choosing an online DUI class. The one I picked -- myduiclass.com had deadlines that were not obvious, and Francisco gave no advice on this. In fact, once the court date passed, I never heard from him. -- Francisco" regretted" that I did not take his advice and go to trial -- which would have cost, according to him, at least $40,000. Of course he regretted that! Francisco did not cheat me -- he was honest about my prospects, so I give him two stars. But it was still sloppy lawywering. And extraordinarily expensive. I was referred to Francisco by a friend and she is also a lawyer but in a different field. So here is my story. I got 2 DUI'S back to back in less than 30 days, those were my 2nd and 3rd strikes in 2 different counties, I thought that was it I'm going to jail for at least 6 months to a year. When I met Francisco, he explained to me everything to a single detail what could happen if I go to court with out a defense, so the judge would put me in jail till my next court day unless I bail myself out. I was freaking out cause my job, my life were on the line. So make this story short, Francisco's assistant and I went to a first court day to face the reality, right away the DA wanted to put me in jail cause it was my 3rd strike in that county, Francisco's assistant negotiated the bail with a judge and set a trial date, at the same time we were dealing with my 2nd strike in different county. I got a speeding ticket. My customary MO is to bite the bullet, eat the fine, take the point, move on with my life - and take a bitter pill. But this last speeding ticket? Oh hellllllll no! Absolutely not. No way. I decided to get a lawyer and fight this travesty of justice. Lucky for me, I did - Francisco ROCKED IT! Having never hired a traffic ticket attorney before (refer to my aforementioned MO), I scoured the internet, researched a few local, legal, bulldog, smartiepants options, and settled on Francisco. We spoke on the phone, I told him about the case, he requested a flat fee, and sent me a link to his site to upload my paperwork. Easy peasy. Between my hiring him and my court date, he requested several continuances on my behalf - he didn't tell me about these, but they were part of his strategy. On the fateful day, Francisco met me at the San Mateo Central Branch courthouse, and we discussed my case again (poor guy left my case file at his office, but that didn't phase him ONE BIT!) and he presented my legal options to me. I selected the option of proceeding with the trial, even though we both observed that the judge was being especially hard on defendants, and *especially* accommodating to officers. But it turns out I was in good hands - Francisco handled the case like a pro! He was fearless, informed, assertive, thorough and decisive - I think I was most impressed with how open-minded and flexible he was during my court appearance regarding the multiple strategies he could employ to try to win this case for me. He knows the law, knows how to win, can't be fazed, is easy to talk to, and is, above all, SUCCESSFUL. I used three other lawyers for my tickets before him and found him to be the best. He was recommended by a friend that used his colleague (now a judge) to repeatedly win or get no-point charges for his speeding tickets over a decade ago. I used him for my tickets in San Mateo and San Francisco Counties. Thanks to him, my driving record is clean without ever needing traffic school. The best way to communicate with him is by phone. He is quick to reply to voice messages. However, he lags with email. It sometimes took over a week for response there without a follow-up call. Since 2010, he got a ticket dismissed (kept getting continuance until their evidence lost) and won one that went to trial. Unfortunately, the one that went to trial did leave a point on my record. The county cleric office sent the paperwork to me instead of to him, and I did not contact him in time to keep a point from my record. It is annoying that he didn't notice first. Because it was a mistake from their side, he explained that it was not too late to go to trial. When the point was mistakenly left on my record, Francisco went the extra mile to contact the DMV and ensure that it was removed for my insurance. For the dismissed one, back in the technology stone age, I had difficulty getting his documents to him from the ups store (it kept going to his spam box). Because I'd waited until the last minute, I had to call the court cleric for an extension myself. I thought it odd that when I asked if I should get the extension, he didn't answer or do it for me. He was on top of his email there, quickly responded throughout the 2 days, and kept in contact by phone to make sure the deadline was met from his end. He also got my DUI case (.06) and a couple other false charges dismissed. It was expensive but worth knowing that I was going to be taken care of to prove my innocence, rather than worried that by myself I'd be in trouble for injustice. He met me at my home the day after I was held, took my full account, assured me with many points for his argument on my side, and kept me apprised of the case's progress. Francisco is the best for getting traffic tickets to disappear. I have used him several times in the last 10 years basically for speeding. Going 15-20 miles over the limit in a suburban area. And one for failure to stop completely at a stop sign. These tickets often come at a stress time and to hand it off to him was great. I have a clean traffic record and like it that way. Although I know better, as we all do, I made the incredibly stupid mistake of drinking and driving. Of course I freaked out- I, like everyone else, have so much at stake/ learned my lesson/ blame the jerk cop, okay... Stupid, stupid mistake. Francisco is simply the most knowledgeable attorney I could have asked for. After I was done beating myself up, he told me everything that was going to happen, point-by-point, which calmed me down enough for me to pull myself together. Once things are less confusing, and you have a game plan, you stop being terrified of what's happening, and start regaining control over this mess. Then, he held my hand through every step- from dealing with the DMV, to defeating the case against me in court. It's been a couple months since trial, and my charges have been dropped, and we're working on appealing the DMV points. I think the best thing that came out of my experience with Francisco is that what had began as one of the most regrettable follies of my life eventually became one of the more empowering things I've had to go through. After spending $2500 , my father lost the appeal case which I understand the chance is 50/50. However I wasn't happy with the services which was provided by Francisco. First of all, he doesn't return phone calls or keep us updated. I always have to keep on calling him and he would always say he would do something soon and expect the phone call from him. It can be a week goes by without hearing anything from him. One time I got him on the phone and he said he is just looking into the case and will call me back to discuss about it. I waited couple hours to call him back on the time he told me to call back, then he told me " I will be working on it and it looks good, will keep you posted soon!!! " That's ALL we talked about the case or the information I was given after I waited for couple hours. Which made me wonder if he was really working on it and why even set up the appointment to discuss about it if that's all I m getting. Finally after 6 months, I got an email from him telling us the court day is tomorrow and he will be going there for us, by the end of the day, he will give us news. Few days gone by, nothing. We email him to ask him what's going on, he told us the court is leaving it open and he will tell us the news as soon as he hear anything. Two months had gone by, I email him again. Two days later, he told us that the appeal didn't success. I was quit upset at that point, some of it not sure if he had tried his best and my father spent so much of his money on it when he is only making minimum paid. Most of all is Francisco's lack of services, shouldn't he give us the news than we keep on asking him!!! We at least deserve a call or he should at least inform us with some paperwork or email. None of those like he wasn't even thinking of us. The response from his email saying he can try to appeal again to the upper court but it would be more $$$. No way!! We are not spending any other single dollar to someone not even have the heart to give us a call with the result. read more

So the CHP claims I was speeding in July 2013 and was pacing my Porsche 911 at some outrageous speed in heavy bumper to bumper rush hour traffic as I passed a Prius going 50mph in the fast lane. I haven't received any moving violation for about 18 years and qualified for traffic school, but I wanted to fight the ticket. I called up Francisco to see what he can do to help me contest the ticket. It was $600 prepaid with no results guranteed but that usually he can get traffic school for the defendant, which I already had. Either case, I decided to go for it. I did inform Francisco that I cannot be present at court but he did advise me that it would help for me to be present. He sent to court and the court date changed three times and ultimately in March 2014, it went to trial. One week later, I received a letter from the court that my case was dismissed! As others have said previously, Francisco is THE MAN. He got my speeding ticket dismissed, no muss no fuss. If you have a ticket, I highly recommend him. But I also want to share how he went above and beyond to help me with an unrelated matter. A friend of mine, a parolee, had vanished, and when I called his parole officer to try to find out if he had been put back in jail, the parole officer flat out refused to give me my friend's location, even though he knew what jail my friend was in fact being held in. I had a feeling it was illegal for the PO to refuse me this information, so I called Francisco rather blindly as he was the only attorney I knew of really. I naturally had no idea if he would talk with me about it at all but I was desperate to find my friend. He answered the phone while he was on lunch break at a jury trial, kindly listened to my query, then he gave me information (that worked!) on how to find my friend without having to call the PO back. In addition, he said if I still had not found my friend by the end of the week, he would call the PO with me and stay on the phone with me until the PO gave me the info he was supposed to in the first place!
