Please save yourself some time and money and try to get your car fixed elsewhere, even if you have to pay for towing it'll be much cheaper than using these thieves My car was driving rough needing a tune up I stopped by to get an estimate on replacing spark plugs and ignition coils on a Saturday early afternoon They immediately disassembled the engine parts to access the spark plugs and then informed me that the cost of repair would be over 900$ to replace 4 spark plugs and coils I did not agree to that price so they told me that I only need to replace one coil which I ended up getting replaced at that point just to get the car going to a different mechanic So I ended up paying over 350$ to replace one coil. I found a different garage who would replace all 4 spark plugs and coils for 250$ read more

Save yourself $200 in towing fees by going somewhere else! I brought my car in because of over heating and an oil leak. The belts also needed to be changed. They changed the belts, said I didn't say anything about over heating or the oil leak, to pay the bill for the belts and to leave (even though theres oil everywhere). I get onto 66 the next day to have the car red lining again and needing to be towed back. It's a shame that they don't care about the quality of their work or their customers satisfaction. read more

I had my fingers crossed because I knew there were issues. Fortunately, 2 hours later and at half the price I expected I was done. No rejection sticker for me! Always very friendly. I have been taking my car to this shop for over 10 years. It was recommended to me by the owner of the townhouse I bought...another single female who was tired of seeing car mechanic's eyeballs turn into dollar signs when she walked in the door. They kept my 20 year old Corolla running and never recommended unneeded services. I knew these guys were honest when I first took my car there. I brought it in because it was making a weird sound whenever I rounded tight curves. Now they could have told me I needed a new CV joint, axel, anything, and I would have believed them. But when I came to pick the car up, Sami told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and there was No Charge! Wow! Turns out this airfreshener I had hanging on one of the handles in the back of the car was rubbing against the handle and making the sound. I have finally treated myself to a new Corolla, which I will continue to take there for another 20 years. They are always very courteous and friendly...and most importantly, HONEST. read more

My boyfriend took his car here for his emissions last week and was given great service. Sad I can't remember the guys name but he was very nice, knowledgable and helpful. My boyfriends car had needed a jumpstart because of the snow we had recently and when we went in to get it tested, the codes wouldn't show up. So the guy recommended that he drive the car for a few miles then come back. When we came back, we weren't really sure if it would show up but the guy was very helpful and everything worked out. I think we were there maybe 10mins before closing time and he didn't make us feel rushed at all! I normally come here for my emissions, inspection and gas also. =D read more

Okay, it's a dark and rainy night and I am from out of state. My tire pressure indicator shows my passenger rear tire is under-inflated. I pulled into the Shell looking for the air hose. The station attendant/owner offered to help me with filling the tires. The air is free and under high pressure. You will need your own gauge as this one is marked high pressure--use with gauge!! Not like the wimpy pay for air pumps! Looked like this is a SERVICE station because they are not making money on gas...several pumps were marked out of order. I have been going to Franconia Shell for over 30 years to have my inspection done and car repairs. Recently I had a issue under my car and had Gabe take a look. He saw that it was a minor issue and told me it will take about 40 minutes, quoted me a very fair price.Very professional and courteous. Salem at the desk who takes care of the customers was very nice, like a breath of fresh air. The people at this station are the best,even the mechanic who took care of my issue realized that I have not attached my yearly state issued sticker needed to be attached before I got pulled over for it being almost out of date. Even though there are maybe 25 places I could go to have repairs done, this station is the only place I will go. Highly Highly recommend this station would not go anywhere else!!!! I took my car 2013 BMW X5 in for sparkplug change. WORST MISTAKE EVER. The mechanics are not certified which I found out the hard way. I went from a car with no known issues(which I have all my service records from Passport Bmw and German Auto Group) to a car that now needs a Catlytic converter. When I left the shop after plug change I didn't make it up the street. CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN STOP RUNNING CORRECTLY. Major bucking!!! The mechanic did not know what he was doing and was looking on youtube for answes. I could have done that. They kept my car for a week. Took it to another shop without my permission and tried to double charge me. To the tune of 600 dollars. The owner would not take responsibility and did not inform me of any charges. PLEASE DO NOT GO here for any work on your car. They claim to change injector but was not even oem. I took car to German Auto which confirmed That they did everything wrong. I actually ask them to show me their mechanics certifications and they could not provide. I now have to get a new car..DONT waste your time or money!!!! If you need a quick emissions inspection you can't go wrong here. Quick and friendly service. I'm not sure how they do on actually repairing a car but it's hard to mess up an inspection and they do it right. He pulls the mechanic that was helping aside by saying hey let me show you something. The mechanic returns and let's me know there's nothing more he can do and took my truck of the lift and apologized. I have been taking my cars to this service station for years. Two days ago my husband took his car to the dealership for a oil change and to find out what the noise was. They wanted $4800.00 to do the repairs. I called my mechanic here, and then brought the car to them. They found even more to be done on the car. and I am now paying about $3500.00 less than the Dealership wanted. I will take my cars only to this service station for all my car needs. They are polite, knowledgeable, and affordable. They do not talk down to women, they do not try to get you to fix something that is not broken. If your car is giving you trouble this is the place to get it fixed, where it will not cost you everything you have. read more

Have been going to Franconia Shell for many years primarily for safety and emission inspections. Always prompt and thorough. Their technicians are very good. Had a "check engine" light come on and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem in minimum time while giving me a ride home while they worked on the vehicle. Just recently had the safety inspector tell me that the front brakes were very close to failing the inspection. He passed the vehicle and I brought the car in for the brake work. Again, the technicians were very knowledgeable and had the brakes repaired in a few hours. The prices for the emission and brake work were very reasonable. I will continue to use Franconia Shell. read more

Today I stopped at the Shell on Franconia to merely put some air in my tires. While doing so a nice gentleman came up to me and offered to help and in doing so noticed that the stickers on my plates were expired. He alerted me of the fact and told me that I needed an emissions inspections. I was under the impression that this was done this as I already paid to renew my registration last month. I got out the receipt from the dealership where I had my state inspection and other work done and saw that I had not had my emissions inspection. I figured that I must've missed something and decided to go ahead and take his suggestion. After having the inspection done, I went to the DMV to see why I hadn't received my new stickers yet and to show them proof that I'd pass the emissions inspection. They then informed me that I didn't have to have the inspection as mine was good for 2 years. Now I'm not blaming the gentleman for my lack of knowledge regarding whether I needed an inspection or not, but I do believe he could've exercised more due diligence when asking me questions on the situation before offering up unsolicited advice, but this isn't even the crux of why I'm giving this place one star. If zero stars were an option I would select it due to the peach of a service manager that I had to deal with. I came back to the Shell after my visit to the DMV and made the technician aware of the fact that I indeed did NOT need an emissions inspection, as mine was still current. He apologized and went to talk to his manager. Upon talking to the manager I was greated by a rather unpleasant tone and immediately felt as if he was attacking me. He went on to twist my words and talk down to me. I let him know that I didn't appreciate his tone and that I wasn't going to stand there and argue with him. He very professionally and maturely responded with, "Have a nice life!" Now I'm pretty fluent in sarcasm, if you couldn't tell by the last sentence, and I don't believe he really wants me to have a nice life. I do not expect to be treated this way by the manager of any business, much less a business that relies mainly on service, which includes customer service! BEWARE: I went to this Shell today to simply get an emissions test, which should be a simple in and out process. Well 30 minutes later, my car in the service bay I'm still waiting wondering whats taking so long. Finally the cars done and the service tech doing the emissions test comes in to the waiting area to let me know the car is done "BUT" heres the clincher, this is what the mechanic said, "Your cars done but we had to replace a fuse in order to do the emissions test in which the OBII scan tool connects to the cigarette lighter, the charge for this is $15.00" they replaced this 20amp fuse, which by the way maybe costs a dollar at your local Walmart before asking me giving me or giving me the chance to authorize it. So he says your car is done and it will be an additional charge of $15.00 plus the emissions fee of $28.00. WRONG. I refused to pay for the repair which I didn't authorize and had them remove the charge. I will never again go to this Shell. Anyway a small amount but it was pretty shitty of them to replace a part on the car without asking me first then charging me a wopping $15.00 on a $1.00 dollar fuse. If I had know the fuse was blown I would have replaced it myself, a simple fix. So beware, this Shell will try to add parts without your authorization read more
