These people completely BUTCHERED a simple task. And I say simple because they are IN POSSESSION of the necessary tools to complete the job. I came in with 3 locks on my tires I needed removed because I had recently lost my key. They removed all three but damaged the bolt in the picture. After buying a new set of locks and trying to tighten it on, they accused me of being the one that did the damage -_- AS IF. I never thought I'd need the police present for ANYTHING in my life. After seeing the damage, the manager, grabs her mechanic and asks him to check. They grab my BRAND NEW LOCK and try to tighten it on with their HANDS BRO I can't make this up. And then they tell me, "look! It works you're wrong." Right before telling me the brand new lock is what is damaged. They communicated in SPANISH, WHICH I SPEAK, but I guess she forgot so, and said to each other, "esta sobado" meaning the bolt is damaged. If you zoom in on the pictures you can see the difference between the 3 old ones and the 1 new lug nut. The 3 old ones have SEVERE signs of struggle which they did struggle to remove them because they didn't have the proper key so they had to use their own. And the brand new lock is where the problem lies......... YEAH RIGHT I highly recommend people stay away from here, these people are unprofessional as hell. I ultimately ended up getting a refund of $75 AFTER she tried to charge me $110 to fix the bolt they ruined. All this trouble for a $35 difference that could've been avoided if she had just agreed to fix what they had ruined. ZERO integrity ZERO character. read more

Just a word of warning. This establishment is under new management and any review older than April 2019 is irrelevant! This service station was an honest establishment prior to MAy 2019. Took my vehicle here for VA State Inspection, and the results were incorrect. After receiving my "results" I was shocked at the analysis. I took my vehicle to my normal mechanic(that does not perform inspections) and he informed me that my vehicle was fine. I took it to another inspection station and passed with no issues. No issues!!!! BEWARE! This station preys on the consumer! They fail issues in an attempt to garner work for their mechanics! As a person that works on their own vehicle for many repairs, I know a bit more than they think I do. Lastly, while I was there in the waiting room, another customer was having his vehicle looked at. They were telling him things he needed done that were not true. This gentleman was elderly and not very "car savvy". They informed him of repairs that were needed that made no sense based on the diagnosis of the issues. They escorted him to his Ford Pickup and allowed him to drive away with his "dire situation". Ravensworth auto put in some rear wheel bearings on my car they were very much needed. They did a good job on the mechanical work but it took forever to get their work done. Plus they were very unresponsive letting me know when my car was ready or what was the status of it. When I went to pick up the car, there was heavy black sot all over the driver side door but it took me a while to clean off. The rates are pretty low and I guess that's why. So, buyer beware. You're going to wait a long time for service, the place is mobbed because the gas is cheap and they only have three pumps. But other than that there isn't much to recommend it. read more

This has been my go-to gas station for quite some time. Their staff & cashiers are very friendly. They have the best gas prices around, and they haven't changed in months! They stay open late, and open early. The other day I asked the cashier for some quarters so I could add some air to my tires. One of the mechanics named Cruz who had been chatting with the cashier stopped her and told me to just pull up to his bay in the garage/shop. I took it to them for a rather large job, and they were faster than they said it would take and had me back on the road in a day. The next time in, they took longer than expected. My car overheated due to leaking hose, I stopped there for repairs. I got a call from Ana, she said hose was replaced, but now my timing belt was making noises. I thought it time to replace the belt anyway, so told her to go ahead and replace it. I didn't get it back until a week later, costing me $600 in car rentals. Four months later, something didn't feel right, there was hesitation when I push on the accelerator. I took it there, Ana told me it was my transmission, which would be $2,000 to repair. She warned me not to drive it. I decided to sell the car as it was old, not worth spending $2,000. I sold it to a auto body repair professional. While driving it to his shop, the timing belt broke on him. He said given the wear, no way was it replaced with a new belt, it had been only 4 months after I had it "replaced". So either they never replaced it, or replaced it with a very old belt, you decide which is worse. Based on recent reviews, I am not the only one that has been scammed by them. read more

This location has become our go to stop for fill-ups as well as service for the older vehicles. I believe ownership changed recently. Asked me a year ago and I would have told you I did not have a warm fuzzy feel for this place. Fast forward to this summer when our house guest stopped here and had only glowing statements for the staff and their assistance with her vehicle and I started using it. Hubby took our '05 SUV here for service and inspection and was also pleased with the results, commenting that he liked the staff and their customer service. We needed a part and although it took a little while to get the part they were good about keeping us updated which we both appreciate it. I stop here for gas. Like some other local places the price posted is for cash and you pay a little more to use a card. If I have the cash I will use it and unlike some other places with this policy the experience is not uncomfortable. The young woman at the register is pleasant and unlike many other gas station offices there is no overpowering old smoker smell. There is good lighting and getting in and out of the lot is relatively easy. Depending on the day and time this can be a popular spot which makes me happy because I really do like the current team and would like for them to do well in this endeavor. read more

Guy said he had to take the bumper off my wife's SUV to put a head light in - cost $200+ bucks. I laughed when my wife called and told me this. I had her leave. She came home with the SUV, I took off the front tire pulled the mud shield down replaced the metal retaining clip that had come off AND installed the headlight - 45 minutes TOPS. Cost: 15 bucks for the light. AND I DID THIS IN MY DRIVEWAY - NO LIFT. In actuality, this itself was not required as installing from the top is what MB says to do. Tried to install it from the top and the retaining clip came off. This is a clip-on part, they come off, they are designed that way. This procedure is done blind so the light could not be seen when the clip came off. Hence the additional step for the tire removal. Still a VERY EASY job. Certainly NOT a $200+ dollar front end removal job. read more

I was super disappointed in Ravensworth Auto Service. They just cost me $218 for 2 weeks of a rental car. I have been coming here for the State Inspection for about 10 years. And have done a few repairs here as well. The last 3 years, I have had issues with my windows. William knows who I am and knows my car. I never use the windows, so they aren't a necessity for me, which I have told him. 3 years ago, William failed my car due to the driver window getting stuck down. My car is a 2001 BMW. I had William fix the window for a few $hundred and have it pass inspection. Last year, again, the car was failed due to the driver window. It got stuck down again. I felt like the previous years repair should have fixed the problem. William had it at the shop for a couple days this time. He said I needed a new window computer and to check w/ the dealer. Dealer never got back to me. However, the car passed inspection somehow, so was not a problem to me. This year, I knew there would be issues and the car likely would not pass. I planned on getting a new car. My inspection was due in Feb, so got it inspected on Feb 29 to be within the law. I haven't used the windows in a year. I have had no problems. I figured I could drive my car for 2 weeks while looking for a new car. I told William, remember the window has issues. Don't get the window stuck down. It will probably fail inspection and I plan on getting a new car. He said thanks for telling me that. So I thought he understood the situation. What does he proceed to do? He puts the window down, fails the car, and the window is stuck down. He can't get it back up. I said I told you don't get the window stuck down. Now what? It was up when I came here? He had no solution. Couldn't get it back up. And said if I want to get the window fixed, it would pass inspection. The car is not worth much more than the repairs would cost me. So not worth it. And I had planned on looking for a new car. Now I have had to rent a car for 2 weeks while looking for a new car. I had to put my car in my friend's garage since the window is stuck down. I can't drive it like that when it was 34 degrees and snowing. Nor could I leave it at work or at home in the parking lot with the window down. Geez. Not sure I will come back to this shop. It has cost me too much time, money, hassle, and inconvenience for something that shouldn't have been an issue. I told him don't get the window stuck down. And now have to pay $218 renting a car instead of driving my own car that I have had for 10 years :-( Very disappointed. And feeling a bit ripped off. read more

Called first to see if they can fix my power window and asked around how much and he told me he couldnt tell me unless i bring in the car. Came in and told the guy that the regulator cable snapped. He called some other guy and gave him my car info including my vin# and told me thats why i needed to bring my car in cuz he needed the vin. Told me it would be $400 and i was shocked cuz that seemed a lot considering i had just looked online beforehand and the part was around $50-100 which is what i told him and he replied saying that just the part is $250 and that included the motor. I went to advanced auto parts and bought the motor plus regulator for around $80 after taxes. (The most expensive one i saw at advanced auto parts was $150) Went home and fixed it myself, for free. Im not sure if other places will quote the same price cuz honestly i didnt bother to call other places after that ridiculous $400 quote but i mean he honestly didnt need my vin# at all, and he specifically told me $250 just for the part which meant labor would be $150. Granted, it did take me about an hr and half to do it myself but it was my first time doing it and had to look it up on youtube but come on, $400? Im sure for professionals it would only take about half an hr, if that. Yea, i doubt i will be coming back here to ask for auto repairs ever again. Yesterday our 18 yr old son decided to make a road trip from DE to VA to see some friends. We were apprehensive to give our blessing but he had our support. He made the drive, conquered the Bay Bridges, met the friends, had fun and was noticing his car was losing power. He pulled over in a parking lot and called home. He said his brakes were smoking & wheel were hot. What do we do? He's 3 hours away? A quick google search of the area & I called Ravensworth Service Station and asked if they could possibly be awesome for us... and they were. They have kids too & knew what I was going thru! He got his car there, it was diagnosed, they actually found parts & replaced the brakes, rotors, calipers & took care of the brake lines on the front, both sides and got him back on the road. They didn't even take a look a the car until 5:30 last night! The crew worked hard and stayed until the job was done... just to get my son back on the road. I'm not sure what time he got in but he's asleep in his bed right now. We are so incredibly thankful that they truly were AWESOME, kind, considerate, professional.. I just can't say enough. Its a family affair, they are all in it together coming up with fake, dire situations of why you can't pass inspection. I noticed on here that they used Control Arms like they did on me, a young male relative of the ladies. One of the ladies even had the craziness to say I need spark plugs when I'd had them replaced recently . She said just warning oil is leaking everywhere and it can start a fire, you've been warned.‼ Went to my regular mechanic and guess what, there was no oil leaking all over the place ‼. I heard from someone else that they got ran out of Dumfries for this. Please don't let these people cheat you out of your hard earned money. I was ignoring the check engine light for the past week (stupid, I know) but it finally made its presence known un-ignorable today On the way to work, my car started sputtering badly. Luckily, I was only a few blocks from William Hwang at Ravensworth Service Center. I had been there before and I trusted them...I managed to drive slowly there just as the business was opening. They diagnosed and fixed the problem (something to do with the ignition) and I got out of the only paying about $300 and within an hour and 20 mins....so I don't even have that much time to make up at work. Amazing customer service! I called right before the shop was going to close because I had a low oil pressure warning on my VW and was panicked because I needed the car to get to some important meetings the following morning. Gabby was very polite on the phone and graciously agreed to wait for me to limp the car over to the shop. Upon arrival Gabby got it up on the lift and found I was nearly 2 quarts low! He had the parts in stock and within 15 minutes I had a new filter, 4.6 quarts of top quality synthetic oil and here is the kicker, I wasn't even charged labor or for the bottle of window fluid that he used to top me off with. This kind of devotion and kindness is what will keep me coming back every time. I even make sure to fill my gas tank there as a way of saying thank you. What a gem!! They are fair, fast and honest which is hard to find in the auto service industry! We have taken multiple vehicles to the shop and they don't charge if they don't have to. They also give cheap safe suggestions that are much appreciated!! Recently had my Jeep serviced to look at my front struts. Mr tire quoted near 800 for both front struts replaced.
