Very cozy pizzeria located on state street. Their options are somewhat limited but their quality of ingredients and costumer service is great. We ordered the Sicilian pizza for three alongside and order of bread knots and a salad. The pizza was great, the bread knots extra garlicky (yum!), and the salad was fresh. Why three stars? -They have a very limited menu (see picture). -If you want to create your own pizza the addition of toppings can be costly. -Street parking is hard to come by around the area. read more

I rarely get to taste pizza that reminds me of the great ones I used to get growing up on Long Island, but this was the closest yet. The service was very friendly and quoted me a time but fulfilled the order 10 minutes before. The pizza was cold so needed to be reheated before eating it. First bite in and I was met with a big hit of salt. I thought maybe it was just that area but it was literally the whole pie that was over salted. This looks like an unassuming pizza place but don't be fooled. This is a great oven baked pizza by the slice place. We tried the artichoke slice, a ricotta slice and a basic cheese slice. Artichoke pizza wasn't overwhelmingly vegetable tasting and the sauce added a nice dimension to it, ricotta slice had a great garlic taste to it and the cheese was soft and perfectly cooked. But my favorite was the basic cheese slice - that's how you know a great pizza place. It was perfectly cheesy but not too greasy, and the tomato sauce was just the right thickness and added a nice moisture to the dough. I agree with other Yelpers that this is a good pizza joint. Instead of waiting for a whole pie, we just ordered slices and garlic knots. They were really good. The crests were crispy and the fillings were perfectly seasoned. We were confused a bit when we saw all those unfamiliar drinks in the refrigerator. We were so conditioned with Coke or Pepsi brands that we were lost looking for something to drinks. However, the cola I got were surprisingly good with more intense syrup flavors. Came here twice during our stay in Ithaca. First time we had a Sicilian mushroom pie. Now I'm personally not a square pie kinda guy. Pizza should be round, gives you the perfect ratio of crust to pizza, easy to fold, overall best pizza shape. However my girlfriend like it so we got it. It was really good (only way it would be better is if it were round). The crust was perfect consistency. Cheese was very good and it did not fall apart. Only wished it had a bit more mushrooms on it. The next time we had a couple of slices. We don't have many places in FL where you can order pizza by the slice. I honestly find it to be even better than fresh pizza since it gets extra crispy and delicious. I tried regular cheese slice, mushrooms spinach, and feta artichoke. In a collegetown filled with excellent pizza, Franco's takes the cake (or pie? Pizza pie? I'll see myself out). Their thin crust is perfectly crisp, without soggy bottoms. The cheese and sauce is proportionate and flavorful, and their veggie toppings are delightfully fresh. Tonight was a spinach, tomato, and pepper night, with no regrets. So yum. I threw in an order of garlic knots too, which were fluffy, garlicky, and not greasy. Accidental find for this place because I was actually waiting in line for Maru Ramen next door when the waft of cheese, bread and tomato sauce oozed out from this place and on to the streets. I immediately started salivating and turned to my wife and told her "We're coming here for dinner or lunch tomorrow, I don't care it's happening!" I'm glad I made that executive decision because we were not disappointed at all. It's everything you want a pizza slice to be. Perfect sauce to cheese ratio and that crust is so thin and it actually crunches. God I'm drooling as I'm writing this. The marina was watery as ****. "It taste like juice" the first thing to come from my mouth after consuming it. In all honestly the pizza was mid but the pie is quiet large. One complaint I do have is the fact that their was no sauce on my cheese pizza. I don't know if they were going for a cheesy bread deal but I was expecting a Mariana type beat. Yum! Excellent crust in the Sicilian pie! First time here, I'm very pleasantly surprised. Best pizza I've had in Ithaca, though I haven't tried the thin-crust rounds, the Stromboli, or the calzones yet. Five Stars (from me) are only earned through consistently outstanding food/service over time, and I've only been here once, but compared to the other pizza joints in town, this place is so much better. Crust had a crisp outer edge with a nice chewy texture inside, not heavy or doughy like some thick-crust pies. Even my wife, who typically doesn't like or eat the crusts (unlike me), said it was her favorite part. Toppings were generous (but not too much), red onions, garland and mushrooms were fresh, sausage had subtle and complex flavors with a bit of zip, but not spicy-hot. Sauce had good flavor, mildly sweet and medium bodied (not watery, not chunky). Interior has potential, but has the feel of s place that just opened (fitting - only been open a month), and the menu is limited; additional salads or a few sides -- and beer or wine -- would be nice. I am not a New Yorker, but I ate this pizza with one. She said this is a classic, pure, delicious New York slice. We got a pizza with olives and mushrooms and though it was simple, it was amazing. The crust is so thin and crunchy, the sauce and cheese and veggies all tasted great. We got some garlic knots on the side which were good but to me could have been way more garlicky. The best part of those was the marinara sauce. The sauce tastes so FRESH. I was dipping the pizza crust in it too. If you don't get the garlic knots, at least get a side of the sauce. Staff and owner (making the pies) were very friendly and welcoming, and the pizza was fantastic! Great no frills pizza place. Probably tough to find a seat during the lunch or dinner rush as dining space is limited. We got there around 1:30 and there were some open tables. Without a doubt the best pizza in Ithaca. My husband and I went to IC from 2007 - 2011 and could never find good pizza, and we have high NYC style pizza standards. We returned for our wedding this summer and wanted to get pizzas for our Welcome Party. Multiple other wedding vendors we were meeting with in town told us that Franco's pizza changed their life in Ithaca! We tried Franco's and LOVED it. We immediately ordered 11 large pizzas for all our guests. The crust is perfectly thin & crispy, the sauce tastes great and the ratios of all the ingredients are just right.
