One time in New Mexico I ate the best green chili I had ever eaten in my life. When I got back to Oklahoma I searched and tried many different green chili recipes I'm hopes to find the same taste as New Mexico. Every place I tried was a "fail". So I had given up. After a ball game in Bartlesville we went to frank an Lola's and I saw "green chili burger" I was skeptical and almost didn't order it, but am I glad I did!!! Tonight I had the Sweet Field Greens Salad topped with a generous portion of Salmon and a cup of their Soup of the Day, a very satisfying Chicken Tortilla Soup made with lots of shredded chicken, vegetables and a homemade chicken stock. We received a gift certificate for Frank & Lola's & this was our first visit. We had heard rave reviews about it & we looked forward to a night out. Arrived around 7 on a Tuesday night, it was busy. We waited on a table for 2 for 40 mins. That was not a problem....BUT we waited sitting at a large table for six. We could not believe they did not let us order from that table or even offer to order us something from the bar while we waited. The table remained empty the ENTIRE time we were there! The staff was not very friendly or accommodating. The bar was full & we had to squeeze in the bar area to even order a drink, the beer was not cold & the entire place was on the warm side. The food was good & I'd give it 3.5 stars but the overall experience was not pleasant, the reason for my 2 star review. read more

Good service, nice atmosphere, and good portion sizes. I looked this place up on yelp which is my go to for food when out of town. I enjoyed my fries but my catfish was blah. The tarter sauce was pretty good and I'm not a tarter sauce person. But when I say the catfish was blah I really felt like it had no flavor it was almost like chewing nothing. It had a nice breading but the nothing flavor is throwing me off. I like hot sauce and ketchup but I don't feel like I should have to smother my catfish with them to make it just decent. read more

We had the burger with jalapeno cream cheese and catfish with jalapeno tarter sauce. They have the best mashed potato's I have ever had. I had lunch at Frank and Lola's today and had their Smoked Chicken Corn Chowder. Made with a green chilie base, it was divine. This was the soup of the day and I hope it becomes a menu regular. My group shared the Green Chilie Cheese Fries and the Stuffed Mushrooms and we ate so much we barely had room for our entrees. My go-to menu item is their Johnny Burger (delicious burger with homemade jalapeño cream cheese) but I'm glad I opted for the soup! Really expected more from this well recommend restaurant. That just isn't the case first there was a 20 min wait, thats not to bad. Then they charge 1.25 for can soda ridiculous , 1.50 for ice tea under priced. We ordered stuff mushrooms that were very good for 9 dollars. I ordered a garden salad that was spring lettuce and 2 carrot spears and 2 tomatoes. That was 6 dollars still not bad. The problem is this and is why they received a 1 star. After a 45 min wait for 20oz ribeye (don't get ahead of me yet) that cost 20 dollar each. The ribeyes came out with fries under the steak and mushrooms on top. Now one was to be medium, it was rare. The other was to be well done it was medium if at best. Fries underneath were soggy and cold and mushroom tasted like the were from a can. For 63 dollars this place needs to work on its kitchen staff. The atmosphere was very confined almost like we could hear the persons thoughts. Bicycles hanging from the ceiling and almost bar feel not a grill. Hoped for the best came out hungry guess its Mcdonalds tonight. read more

Frank and Lola's is a decent restaurant with (in my opinion) a few major flaws. First the good: 1) The food is above average for the Bartlesville area. Their green chili pork stew is rich and thick and actually has some heat to it (a rarity in this area). 2) The service is top notch. My wife and I had lunch here today and our tea glasses stayed full, our food arrived within minutes and, when someone knocked over a glass at the table next to us, they had it cleaned up almost before we noticed it happened. Now for the bad: 1)Even if they don't have the music playing, its LOUD. Don't think you are going to come in, sit down, and chat over lunch. There is something about the acoustics of this place that seem to magnify everyones voice in the dining area to the point you can barely have a conversation with someone sitting directly across the table from you. 2) The tables are pushed so close together that you're almost elbowing the person next to you in the ribs when you eat. 3) The entree's are overpriced. The chicken salad sandwich is good but not worth the $9.50 they charge for it. read more

This place would be below average to average if it was located in any city with a decent food scene. Since it is in Bartlesville, people treat it like the place has a Michelin Star. The food is consistent (sometimes heavy on the salt) but nothing spectacular (typical OKIE food, shades of brown). The reason for the 2 Stars and not 3 or more is their arrogance and stubborness to accommdate the customer. They don't have too because for a long time they were the only decent place to eat in Bartlesville (dissappoint a customer and another is waiting). The menu says " The menu is designed for optimal flavor and enjoyment, please no substitutions. This will allow for quicker service...THANK YOU." Does that really mean you can't cut a sandwich in half!?!? Example: They have a chicken salad sandwich on the menu that is pretty good. It comes with a choice of chips or fries. I ordered it to go and asked for fries in a separate container. The server said the kitchen won't accommadate the request. What?!?! That makes no sense. They dumped the steaming hot fries in the same container as the cold chicken salad sandwhich. Here is a real easy question......what do you think the sandwhich looked, felt, and tasted like 7 minutes later when I opend the container?????? A SOGGY WET MESS!! How is that designed for optimal flavor and enjoyment? You ruined your own food because????? Quicker service.... Next time try for better service. F&Ls, stop trying to be a good enough place to eat in Bartlesville and start trying to be a good place to eat anywhere. read more

Very bad service. The front end staff were very rude and argumentative when we inquired about when we would be seated. Our waitress waited 45 mins after we ordered to tell us that it was taking long because the fryer wasnt ready. We wish she would of let us know earlier because we would of changed our order. She forgot to get one of our drink orders and the rest of the wait staff were just generally rude. This place reminds me of a restaurant / bar you would find in a college town - fun, casual, satisfying eats, and a decent bar. We only went there for dessert, so I might give a different rating after sampling the menu, but we completely enjoyed our experience there.
