A long while back I took my 2019 Honda to Frank Electronics to have a 5 channel power amp, 4 door speakers and a 12 inch sub-woofer installed after I had made an appointment. All equipment was supplied by me so all I needed was installation. Frank's told me the install would be about $430.00. On the day of my appointment I had to wait for 1 1/2 hours before the installer even started on my vehicle because he was late to work. I gave the installer all the components which was good quality equipment. After about an hour the guy working the desk told me they couldn't install my 5 channel amp because my vehicle was too new and they couldn't locate the wire harness / connection on the back of the head unit. Then the guy says they can install a 2 channel amp that would power the sub-woofer but not the door speakers. Then he said the speakers I provided would not sound good because of the technical specs of the speakers and frequency range and a bunch of technical jargon. He recommended I buy 4 speakers from him that would sound much better. I agreed and bought their 2 channel amp and 4 door speakers from them because I wanted my installation done. At this point I was already irritated because I wasn't going to get the installation configuration that I wanted but I told them to proceed anyway. 5 hours later my installation was finished. The final install was a 2 channel sub-woofer amp and 4 door speakers which would not be amplified as they were only upgrades to the OEM speakers that came with the vehicle. Also, another $400.00 was added to my bill because I bought their products which increased my installation cost to $830.00. WOW! Frank's couldn't figure out how to install the amp I supplied so they sold me a lesser option and 4 more door speakers. I left the shop with my 5 channel amp and 4 door speakers which I would have to return to the store I bought them from. When I got home I realized that Frank's didn't connect the sub-woofer volume control wire so I had to do that myself. No big deal but still. About 3 days later IT HIT ME. How was Frank's able to connect their sub-woofer amp to the head unit but they couldn't connect MY 5 channel amp? There are only 2 reasons I can think of as to why this occurred. (1) The installer didn't know how to install a 5 channel amp with 4 door speakers and a sub-woofer so they had to figure out how to install something so as not to look like a clown show. OR (2) They pulled Bait & Switch on me so they could make more money by selling me their equipment. The trick was they couldn't sell me a 5 channel amp because that's what I brought in, so they sold me a 2 channel amp for the sub-woofer and doubled their installation price and profit by what they did. But wait there's more - after about a month, the amp they sold me burned out my sub-woofer. I replaced the sub-woofer and about a month later the 2nd sub-woofer also burned out. The fuses on both the speakers were still intact but the speaker was dead. Now I was really pissed off but I wasn't going back to Frank's. I bought a 3rd sub-woofer with its own internal power amp, REMOVED the amp Frank's sold me and I connected the sub-woofer using the wire that Frank's installed on the head unit that they said they couldn't do on my 5 channel amp. Almost 2 years later the 3RD sub-woofer I connected to Franks' wire is still working perfectly pumping out heart thumping bass. Going to Frank Electronics was a hatchet job rip off that cost me $830.00 for a crappy installation job. The grand total after replacing 2 burned out sub-woofers and the power amp they sold me was $1280.00 for me to have an upgraded system in my vehicle. read more

SHADY MADE FOR PROFIT PLACE. got a new radio here, they over priced the sale of the radio I bought there, stating it was a brand new model recently released. Not at all the case when I looked it up after I had paid $150 over price but I lived with it. After a few months the radio was draining my car battery. Every morning when I went to start the car the battery was dead and after disconnecting a few things finally found it was the radio. Had to take the fuse off when I parked at night because Mr. Frank said that mishap wasn't covered by them. So I lived with that. Fast forward to the present time, two years later the cluster and dashboard lights all went dark and to my surprise getting pulled over because my back lights were not working. I took it to a real profesional place and they told and showed me that they had used a not powerful connection from my back lights to power the radio which causes the fuses to burn out creating the blackout. Thinking back to the day I bought the radio there Frank wanted to charge me for extra features. If I wanted the DVD to work while I was driving he said it would be $50 extra. If I wanted the raído to be controlled from the steering wheel that would be another $50 extra. I can't control the radio from the steering now but When I drive the DVD does work... We were touring through the area when our power inverter blew a fuse in our Sprinter. We were completely out of luck in terms of finding a location that could get us a fuse. I ended up calling roughly 10 minutes before they closed and spoke with Frank, he was willing to wait up to help us out. Couldn't believe how hospitable and helpful he was in getting the fuse and helping reinstall it. Thanks to him my tour mates are ripping my head off to charge their equipment. So my visit here was to potentially see if I would go here in to get a new amp since my car doesn't have one. I'm not a car guy, I don't know too much about specific's especially audio work. This being said the audio in my car wasn't working. Radio would turn on but no sound. The lady said I "had" to get a amp otherwise it won't ever turn on or it'll keep going out. She quoted an estimate of $600 to get the audio fixed and along a decent amp, Even though I told her it was working before, it just went out even without a amp. She said I still needed one. So with the power of YouTube I researched further, spent $20 on a pack of fuses and changed out a fuse (first time ever doing it). I understand trying to sell equipment and all that. But trying to take advantage of someone who has no knowledge of your specialty is no bueno in my book. I had a back up camera, head unit, and amp installed there last year. Frank had a kid installing my stuff, said he was a boy wonder...I was like ok. I just went to another local installer, they began installation, and showed me, I have pics, the wiring was all over the place. Staff is friendly (Frank is funny as hell) prices are fair, plus they carry new/used equipment. Personally, I'm a fan of the old school Rockford Fosgate amps and subs which can be hard to find at a reasonable price. Frank's also does trade-ins which can be helpful if you're looking to change up your system. I have not had anything installed anything installed by them; however, my experience so far has earned them a five star rating. At $75/hour they also have the least expensive rate I have found thus far. This place is a joke. I make an appointment for Saturday at noon, on Thursday. They tell me "Oh, we'll only have your car for 2 hours and then you'll be good to go" I just needed speakers wired to amp. Nothing else. Told them it is a 2016 Mazda with a factory under the dash, the guy said "oh yeah we've dealt with plenty of those, no problem, it wont take long to do." So I dropped the car off with them at Noon on saturday. 2 hours later I call, they haven't even gotten my car into the bay to be worked on. Frank said they were pulling it in now and that by 4:30 it should be done and to call by 5pm if I havent heard from him yet. Come 5, I call and he tells me the same exact crap. That they are just now pulling the car into the shop. Then he tells me not to worry, no matter what they are going to get the car done today. That they wont be going home until every car is finished. Then finally, at 6:30 I get a call from some other guy because Frank is to much of a coward to do the dirty work himself, and he tells me that they can't get the car done today blah blah blah, some other job was to hard. Crying and making excuses about everything they could think of. Then I brought up the fact that he said no one was going home until all cars where done, He said oh we thought your car was only going to take an hour but its hard we have the IQ of a mushroom and its actually going to take 3 hours to do. AFTER I dropped it off at 12PM!!!! And made an appointment 2 days before! So they are lazy, they are liars, and not worth the air they breathe. I experienced similar treatment. I was given an "estimate" of less than $100 for an antennae on my car. After installing it I was presented with a bill for $230. I questioned it and was given the same "that's why they call it an estimate" line. They did reduce the bill to around $200 but I was charged 2 hours of labor when they only had my car for about an hour and a half. The actual installation was done professionally. I was going to have them install another piece of equipment that they had "estimated" would be $275. But because of this experience I ma going to take it somewhere else and get a fixed price. read more

Worst experience ever! I went to Frank's to have a subwoofer and amp installed and he ended up breaking my convertible top. I had it down on the drive over and put it up right before handing over my keys. After the work was done and still at Frank's I went to listen to it with the top down and nothing. There was no power to my roof. He had his "guy" look at it and said it was nothing they did. What a load of c#@p. The bill has come to $3200 all because of a loose ground and the subsequent frying of my motor. He still won't man up and give it to his insurance si I had to use mine (who is suing him). Don't take my word for it, check out his Google reviews. I wish I read those before trusting him with my car. This place is a joke, oh and he botched the amp install as well. STAY AWAY read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would went in a few weeks ago to get my new subs installed from them and I was waiting there for roughly 6 hours when I first arrive the technician said that it would be done in two hours max and finally after those six hours of waiting around which was a complete waste of time and money because two weeks later my subs have stopped working and I have decided to stop by to see what was the issue was an a individual named Frank said that it was my amp that I had and it was pushing enough Waites for it to power the speakers which didn't make sense to me because I had this same amp in my old Jeep and it worked perfectly fine he wanted me to buy a brand new app for $280 and I didn't just want to spend more money because I'm am not made of money I'm just a young kid that wants his subs installed I had decided to go to another shop that specializes in installing subs and speakers and they said that everything that was done was completely wrong and it was also a fire hazard because one of the connectors that was connected to the battery was completely fried the wires that they use were super out dated that the one guy told me at the other shop told so I just wasted $280 and 6 hours of my life for nothing moral of the story is don't go to this place and waste your time and money read more

I bought my own rear view camera for my dodge went to see Frank and I just needed the wiring to be connected I had installed the camera so they didn't need to take the tail gate apart so I did it make it easy for them. Well they installed the wiring and they come to tell me the camera I bought was no good it had all white lines in it. He was going to sell me another camera. Come to find out they installed the wiring wrong and they also broke the clip for my rear tail light and they cracked the installation kit for my Radio. I did go back and see Frank he told me was going to look into it and call me back that's like 3 months and still no phone call . He just told me that so I would go away. read more

I did once have a small problem with an install but all I had to do was to bring the car back to fix the problem and they did the fix quickly and for no charge! Absolutely terrible! Their customer service is terrible(skipping over you, ignoring you , or just simply lying to you). The quality of work is pitiful at best. They knotted up wires to make them shorter instead of trimming them to the appropriate length. They didn't shield or seal anything when going through the firewalls. His prices are never consistent. They vary from person to person. And he will give you false estimates. Said my price would be around $475 out the door, but when it came time to checkout and pay, he charged me $675 and said "well that's why it's called an estimate".
