I dream about this place…read more Our second year coming in late September for a city escape, Flossie's came highly recommended by my buddy who visits often. I'm sad to say that I don't remember what we got last year, just that we loved it. So of course, we had to repeat again this year! And oh man, it did not disappoint. I didn't want to eat with my toddler because I did NOT want to share. I gave him a few fries because he could smell them but there was no chance he was going to touch my sandwich. Hubby got the Texan brisket (special and the last one!) and I got the chicken pesto panini. My wonderful husband offered to do splitsies and ... well, he only got a couple bites. Sadly, because of said toddler and infant in tow, we couldn't eat it there when the fries were fresh so they were a tad sad when we finally sat to eat them. No dock on Flossie's - that's our fault. I'm certain they would have been amazing fresh! All of this to say....if you're in the area or planning a visit, make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed. Unless they're closed...that's why you need to plan your schedule around their opening hours. A second location is opening in Belleville ... kudos to Flossie's for making their dreams happen! Sorry for not taking a picture of our sandwiches. Like I said, I couldn't wait. It was very much a GET IN MY BELLY moment.

First things first, their menu is mostly pictures so it would be good to ask about ingredients if you have any food intolerances. There may also be off menu items so feel free to ask their pleasant staff. Most of the items don't have prices but it's generally around $20 pretax. It's a bit pricier than expected but the food and environment makes up for it. We tried a few of their sandwiches and they were all juicy and flavourful in their own way. It's all packed with a healthy combination of high quality ingredients. The burger was cooked to a nice juicy medium rare, and the sandwich breads were toasted perfectly. You have the choice of the usual sides, but the coleslaw definitely stands out with a creamy and sweet but well balanced profile. The outdoor seating is an absolute boon for a spring/summer PEC visit. Enjoy the shade and the gentle breeze as you bite into your juicy sandwich!

My friend and I were out and about last weekend exploring a nearby town and we started to feel a…read morebit hungry. Unsure of what was in the area, we did a quick search on Google maps to see what came up. Ironically, we had both been looking at the Whistling Duck at the same time on our respective phones, so we decided to check it out. We arrived mid-afternoon and it was a beautiful day - the views of the water surrounding the restaurant were gorgeous, so we walked around a bit outside taking a few photos first. The restaurant was empty except for one table of customers finishing up, so we had our pick of seats. They had a bottle of hand sanitizer at the front and we were asked to use it and then take a menu before being seated. We asked our server for some recommendations and she offered up a few suggestions for each section of the menu. My original choices were not amongst the suggestions, so I decided to throw caution to the wind and go with something different. We both had the seafood chowder to start, which tasted good but it was a bit more "watery" than a typical chowder. I absolutely love a nice, thick and hearty chowder, so I was a bit disappointed. I'd give it a 3/5. Next, we shared an order of mussels in garlic and white wine sauce. This was extremely watery, with not much flavour to the broth, but the mussels were cooked very well. The garlic toast that came with it was the best part. My rating is 3/5 for the mussels. Our server strongly recommended the lobster clubhouse, so I figured I'd give it a try. I have to say, it was the most ridiculous "lobster" sandwich I've ever had. First of all, it wasn't lobster. It was pollack, either the crab or lobster version I couldn't be certain, but definitely not real lobster. Or if it did contain real lobster, it was such a minuscule amount that I couldn't find it or taste it. It's basically very finely sliced pollack with mayonnaise and some other stuff mixed in, most likely to disguise the fact that it's not real lobster. The bread and the bacon were both cold, so it was a very disappointing sandwich in all. I'd rate this one a 2/5 because the sweet potato fries that came with it were really good. My friend ordered another highly recommended item - the mushroom and Brie burger (subbed with a veggie patty instead of beef). There might've been maybe six tiny pieces of mushroom on it. I didn't taste it so I can't rate that one. Service was very friendly and the views absolutely stunning on such a nice day. I'd chalk this up to failing to go with my initial choices and that not everyone has the same taste in food. I also have very high expectations when it comes to food. This place is probably great for a lot of people but I'd probably give it a pass in future. 3/5 overall for s

She did a great job of correcting the outage including comping the drinks. Food was great had wings and mussels. Great view on the water patio. Had to change our plan as too much time had been spent waiting for our food.
