Frankfort Auto Haus: Patient Customer, Zero Follow-Through I did my homework; I knew my needs. Is this how the salesman treats all his new leads? I felt like a fool, a sucker in the end, relying on a person who couldn't quite comprehend. A $1,300 tax was charged, though I am tax-exempt. I called it a hiccup, but he made little attempt. He promised my registration would be handled with care, then he reneged on the temp plates with excuses in the air. We drove the car for three days before it broke down completely. This dealership has refused to repair or re-purchase the vehicle to remedy the situation. Part II: After several emails, text messages and phone calls, I have yet to get a single response. Kevin 's unwillingness to call me back makes this dealership a terrible place to buy a car. In fact, I would suggest you take your business elsewhere...ANY other place. These guys will take your money and hope to never hear from you again. I am terribly disappointed that Kevin has been as uncaring as he has shown. I was suckered into believing these guys cared about their customers. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! There are many other similar reviews about this place. Take it to heart. I now have to go through the trouble of suing them to recover my funds. My first dealings with Jeff at Frankfort Auto Haus was very pleasant and easy going as this was an internet purchase. However, dealing with Kevin is a complete nightmare - he is rude and unprofessional and doesn't care about the warranty they sell - just take the money. I had been searching high and low for a newer Chevy dually that wasn't beat up or had high mileage around my home and not 12+ hours away. These trucks really hold their value and don't stay on lots for very long when one is found. I found this truck at Frankfort Auto Haus and it was 30 miles from my home. I had previously owned this type of truck (2003 Chevy Duramax 3500) and had sold this truck with over 225,000 miles on it and NEVER had any problems with it - motor, turbo, trans, or otherwise. On October 24, 2019, I purchased a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 6.6 Duramax from Jeff at Frankfort Auto Haus for around $40,000. The truck had only 52,606 miles on it. I was informed that they purchased the truck from the Chevy dealership that was across the street who took it in as a trade in and it was a one-owner. I purchased an extended "full coverage" warranty for the truck for $3,229.00 with a zero dollar ($0) deductible and was told by Jeff that it was "JUST LIKE A FACTORY'S BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY." I purposely purchased the best package for this truck for warranty repairs if needed. I had to return after-hours to pick up the truck due to the distance from my home (30 miles) and needing a second driver to drive home my old Duramax as I did not trade it in. As I was driving the truck home from purchase, the "check engine" light came on. The very next day, I took the truck in to get diagnosed for the check engine light it was determined that it was glow plug #2. I called the dealership and spoke to Jeff and informed him of the check engine light and informed him that it was VERY SUSPICIOUS that the light came on as I was driving the truck home just after the purchase. He offered to have their service department to look at it but I told them that I already had the diagnosis. They told me that the warranty was in effect the day that the truck was purchased and that it should be covered. I didn't have the glow plug changed at this time. Fast forward 4 months and my truck breaks down - transmission issues. I send it to a local dealership for repairs (per my warranty contract) to have it diagnosed. It was found to have MULTIPLE codes in the short time that I owned it: Transmission Control Module (TCM) within the transmission, glow plugs #2 and #6, the intake airflow valve motor shorted, turbo vanes stuck, and two thermostats for the heat were bad. It took forever to the Alpha Warranty representative to look at the truck and when the service department (not me) were contacted on February 14th, Alpha barely covering anything that needed repairs. So I called Frankfort Auto Haus to get in contact with someone to get some help with the warranty and explanation as to why they weren't covering anything. Matt was very concerned and helpful and tried reaching out the the warranty company to get this resolved. I called Matt at the Auto Haus again on February 17th and was informed by Kevin that Matt no longer worked there. Kevin was extremely rude, condescending and unprofessional to an unsatisfied customer who was trying to utilize a warranty sold by them. Kevin told me "well, you signed the contract." The contract is 13 pages long - fine print. When I signed the contract, I was given the impression that it was "JUST LIKE A FACTORY WARRANTY - BUMPER TO BUMPER." In the end, Alpha Warranty covered only the throttle body and TCM for $1,290.06. I had to pay out of pocket $5,429.95 for a new turbo on a 5 year old truck with less than 60,000 miles on it. They said was given a Ford inspection, dealership said they never did. They sold me a warranty saying it would cover any issues, it does not. Bought a really nice, very low mileage '02 Lexus from these guys at a great price. Was treated exceptionally well from the time i walked in till I drove the car away. No one tried to hard sell me, I was offered a slight discount and they just gave me various keys to test drive other cars to compare. As I was finishing up I asked if I should Yelp them, since the deal was so painless and was told a few ex-employees and their friends, who were angry for some reason, wrote some really silly and negative reviews...I just read them and it sure doesn't seem like the same place I bought a car. As for the car, I found the service records from the Lexus dealer in the trunk and the car was looked after by the Lexus dealer with all the service mileage stamps and recommended servicing in the book. On Monday, October 11th, 2010 my 19-year old son and I purchased a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT from the Frankfort Auto Haus. We were told by the manager, John, that the radio did not work due to the fact that it was locked out when the battery was changed and needed a reset code to operate again. "Don't worry. We'll take care of it. We'll get the code tomorrow. Bring it back up, and we'll get it working." When my son returned with the vehicle the next day the reset code did not solve the problem. The radio still did not work. He was instructed to visit a local vendor to have them take a look at it and was told again "Don't worry. We'll take care of it." When I visited later that same day to sign final loan paperwork and expressed my concern about the nonfunctional radio I was told yet again "Don't worry. Whatever it is we'll take care of it." After the visit to the local vendor determined the problem to be a blown amplifier, which would cost at least $200 to replace, my son was told on Monday, October 18th, "Sorry, you purchased the car as is. We're not going to pay to have it fixed." When I visited later that same day I was told I needed to speak to John Mack about the problem, the manager who sold us the car. Instead Kevin Lantry presented himself to me, and I asked to speak to John. He said, "I'm John's boss. You can speak to me." I explained that John and others at the Auto Haus communicated repeatedly to my son and me that they would "take care of" of the nonfunctional radio. I also said I expected them to stand by their commitment. Mr. Lantry said to me "I can't afford to fix that radio for you. I sold that car to you dirt cheap." I asked him to confirm for me then that Auto Haus was not going to stand behind their word to "take care of it." He said "I never said those words to you." I pointed out that John did, and he came to speak to me on behalf of John as his boss. So, I asked him again if Auto Haus would stand by their word and fix the radio. He said, "You know what? I am not going to do that. If you're unhappy, I'll buy the car back from you. That's your only option." I replied, "No. Our first option is that you stand by your word and fix the radio." Again, he refused. I then asked more than once if he would at least acknowledge that John and his staff misrepresented the quality of the vehicle they held out to the public. He refused to answer the question. He said, "You know what? I'm not going to argue with you." With that he walked out of the showroom and into the parking lot. My son and I waited nearly two hours for John Mack to process our paperwork and sell us the car. The owner of the business cares so little about a satisfied customer that he could not afford me more than 3-4 minutes of his time before running away from a conflict his company created. No integrity. No shame. Despite Kevin's protestations I went to speak with John who was "busy" across the parking lot, apparently too much a coward to speak for himself. I asked John if he would stand by his commitment to "take care of it." He lied and said, "We all thought it would be something minor." I interrupted and said "We thought it was a reset code because you told us it was. We believed you when you said you would take care of it. You came across as a decent and honest person, but apparently that was all a lie too. How do you look in the mirror at yourself? Your behavior is repugnant." And with that, I walked off. When I got home I reviewed their website for a closer look. Proudly posted on the website is the following: Caring for the classic customers "The Auto Haus backs every vehicle it sells....If a car has a problem, we either fix it or we wholesale it, Lantry says." They list false info in ads to draw you in. I went to look at a truck that was listed online with 60k miles, at $13,998.00. When I got there I found the truck with 80k, at $14,998. Also listed a bunch of false features, and lied about condition. The actual truck verses the picture was much different. They removed the bed cover that was listed, and added some ugly graphix to the sides. If they were looking to jazz this truck up, they could have spent the money on a handful of other things much more important than graphix. I would have still considered negotiating a deal if the salesman had any sales ability at all. I walked in with $15,000 cash on me. I was ready to buy, but not willing to work that hard to give them my money. Stay away from this place, save yourself the frusteration. Check out the reviews on other sites too. Horrible experience,people check your temporary plates before leaving this dealer!!!! I purchased a vehicle there I parked it in front my house and in morning was gone I called police to report it stolen and to my surprise it has been impounded because the temporary plates they put on my car at dealer belong to someone else and were registered to a different vehicle I contacted John and he simply said that was my problem their mistake costed me about 900.00 incurred in court & in pound fees not mentioning all the days off i had to take to go to court, even after I showed all proof they seemed not to care and i wasn't reimbursed my money. read more

Ok, so I didn't buy a car from these guys. But my car got a flat when I stopped at the Speedway directly next door to them to air up my tire. The machine was broken and instead of filling the tire it let all the air out. The people inside the Speedway were unhelpful to say the least. I figured it was unlikely, but I thought maybe the dealership across the street could help. They came over with an air tank and filled it up so that I could make it over to their shop. Then they checked the rest of my tires and made sure everything was ok. I was so grateful for their help, I really didn't know what I was going to do and I was afraid I was going to have to get it towed. I had an appointment, but they said the detail guy left to run some errands for the shop. This happened two times. I recently purchased a car from Auto Haus. I thought I was getting a great deal until I realized that the Milage advertised was wrong. I got over that because on the surface it was still a nice car. In one week I found out that we had been mislead and were allowed to purchase a car later deemed by a reputable dealership to be dangerous since the front tire was plugged and the same was loosing air. In addition a part was severely damaged and seemed hard to believe that Auto Haus was unaware of the problem. Over 1000.00 later, not including tires, I wouldn't recommend Auto Haus to anyone - do your homework and believe the reviews. I should have done a better job.
