When, after 20 or so minutes I got up to find out if we were ever going to be served, we got the obligatory excuse but someone quickly came and took our order. The food and drinks came. I had ordered chicken strips and the tomato soup. The strips were hot and tasty. The tomato soup left a lot to be desired. It was very watery with no tomato chunks or any herbs that you could see or taste. The people sitting across from us didn't get what they ordered. For the price, I'd say if you don't have to be there, find somewhere else.

Frankie & Benny's was very crowded, but we only had to wait about less than ten minutes for a table to open up, next to a window. DH decided upon the Prawn risotto, while I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and a side salad. DH also had a glass of the house red wine, which he said he enjoyed. I thought my spaghetti was great, while his risotto - need more time, to me, it was raw! While waiting for our food to arrive, two things happened. First, a large family with a raucous band of child were seated next to us. The noise was deafening for a while. I attended graduate school (MFA in Creative Writing) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and I experienced some anti-American sentiment there. Consequently, I expected the same in the UK. Never saw it. Quite to the contrary, I've never been treated so well. The British treated me better than my own family, which might not be saying much. One day while my British girlfriend (We've since split up) was at work I walked over the Old Manor Pub in Walton-on-Thames during the lunch hour. I expected either anti-American sentiment or at the very least, a cold shoulder. Again the locals and I had a great time drinking your superior British beer and exchanging anecdotes. I've never had so much fun with my clothes on! I would love to email the Old Manor Pub but can't find an email address anywhere. Does anyone know how I can email them? This is a pub you definitely want to spend time in. If only that British lady hadn't dumped me I would be spending my weekends there today instead of Hollywood. I love the UK. The US needs to take some notes. A Open bar-(serve yourself), hot and cold food selections that make sense, it was clean, there were several different seating areas to work and relax and there was a candy station filled with British treats!! Wow!! The servers were around to see if anything needed to be cleaned up or restocked. My 4 is because Check-in customer service needs customer service retraining. Other than that, I really enjoyed it here.
