I love sushi so I am always down to try a new spot! My boyfriend and I tried Frankie's on a weekend and it was quite empty but also not the quickest service. There were about 4 tables seated and we were there for well over 2 hours in total. We did order the first rolls and wait to see if we wanted more, which we did, and placed a second order. Our waiter was super kind and accommodating entering our multiple orders. The sushi was definitely good but not our favorite. I enjoy the rolls with more pieces since the prices are a bit higher. We are used to eating half off prices so the bill did shock us for a second when it was well over $100 - our fault for eating so many rolls! We had fun trying a new spot and sharing our rolls with each other to be sure we tried some of everything! I saw that Frankie Sushi now does all you can eat buffet for lunch. I went by myself for lunch and wanted to try a few things! I was the only one there. It was cold. It was dark with the only light coming from the big bay window. The food was good, but I wouldn't eat the General tsos chicken again (,it was sweet, not spicy .. it just didn't seem right). Always a great choice to stop in and get some traditional sushi and Japanese food. Restaurant is warm and inviting. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Many different items and specials to choose from. I have tried a lot of the rolls and like them all. The Rainbow roll is one of my favorites. I also really like the miso soup as well as the seaweed salad. Definitely come check them out and sit right at the bar and have some cold ones with your choices. read more

Very nice service. Hard to get into parking do to traffic but other than that we enjoyed food and atmosphere.

I have been looking for a sushi restaurant to replace "Asuka" formally in Clay (Moyers Corners) that was taken out by Covid since 2020. Unfortunately I have not found one yet. This is not to say that Frankie's was not a great sushi place. I found the service and food very good. My wife and daughter all enjoyed the quick service and food very much. Prices were very reasonable, total bill was 78.00 + tip (Service for 3) and I had a glass of wine. I would give this place a slight edge over Sake Bomb if you are not going with a group for an hibachi dinner, dinning area is very open and not as cramped as Sake Bomb. Manager or maybe the owner stopped by our table twice and thanked us for our patronage. We will definitely go back, I look forward to our next visit! I got take-out and after a night of sleep, I woke up wanting my meal for breakfast! I ordered the kani salad (YUM!), harumaki, and 3 rolls (spicy salmon, spider, and smoked sweet). Everything was amazing! Also, I hate it when sushi places load up on rice in the rolls, but Frankie Sushi gave the perfect amount. The Smoked Sweet roll was my favorite, with the others rolls tied for a close second. Prices are really reasonable and I got my food pretty quickly after placing my online order. The food here is definitely a highlight; everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Gyoza were delicious and avocado rolls were very nice. Our server was also wonderful, handling our large group (including two kids) with a lot of patience and a great attitude. However, the atmosphere was tough because it was so cold inside. We entered on a chilly late Sunday afternoon to an immediate and warm greeting with offer of hot sake and soup to warm up with which I gratefully accepted. The soup was a hearty chicken flavored broth with greens, tofu, and green onions, the sake piping hot only turning to warm towards the end of our meal. I picked the sushi appetizer which was 4 perfect sashimi we dug into and ate so quickly I was not able to share the beauty of them with a pic, my apologies. Very clean similar layout to the prior restaurant with some of the memorabilia from Frank's Plank Road Cafe, including a sign hung on the wall paying homage to what existed for so many years. For the main course I chose 3 sushi rolls and my dining partner the steak teriyaki. The rolls are made fresh and the ingredients were top notch freshest I've ever had. I tasted the steak teriyaki and found it to not be salty as most are and so tender it melted in my mouth it was on top of green peppers, carrots, and onions accompanied with a bowl of white rice. The Mexican sushi was flavorful with just the right amount of spice and tempura battered for crunch. Prices are very reasonable, good and service excellent no doubt we will return. With such a huge menu there is certainly something for everyone including for non sushi and non sashimi eaters. We started at the bar just to have a drink before we were seated. The staff is exceptionally nice and attentive, however if you are a draft beer drinker options are limited. They do have a full bar and wine as well. As we enjoyed our drinks at the bar we watched the sushi bar roll fresh made to order items. We were seated easily for dinner with many seat options on this snowy Thursday. We ordered miso soup, octopus, and a tempura platter for appetizers which was served steaming hot, flavorful and ample. For dinner we had tuna avocado rolls, shrimp avocado rolls, beef teriyaki, salmon rolls, and fire dragon rolls. We ate EVERYTHING as they were so fresh and well done. Pricing was so reasonable for all this food and 6 drinks around $165 for four people. Some have mentioned it looks like the old Franks Cafe with just some Japanese decorations put up. Maybe that is true but the true story of this restaurant is not the decor but the lovely hard working people cooking and serving, and the star of the evening was the food! We'll be back and so glad this empty restaurant was revived in Cicero. read more

I never like to give bad reviews about a restaurant but I just had such a disappointing experience that I feel the need to share. When I took my first bite into my sushi, it was warm, no flavor, chewy,and made me sick after. I really hate to say it wasn't good at all because I really wanted this place to be good as I think Cicero is lacking authentic Japanese cuisine. Obviously everyone may feel differently about their food but one rule for me in sushi is if it's warm, that is a bad sign of sushi fish not being fresh. However I will give them the benefit of the doubt, they had very friendly service.but not enough for me to return. read more

The food tastes like Wegmans sushi, but priced higher than Sake Bomb which is 1 block down the street. The portion size is also 2/3 the size. The decor looks like it has not been changed since it was a seafood restaurant. The restrooms are the same as the old business and need replacing. Great service and everything was spot on tasty. Growing up in an Asian household, some of the dishes weren't "like Mom made" (vegetable tempura) but they were still very good. The sushi we had was very good. Shrimp tempura, Boston and California rolls were all fresh with good flavor. Beef udon was well done and the mushroom soup was delicious. Definitely going back and I hope they have a successful run. My only knock would be the decor. You're eating sushi in the old Frank's Plank Road restaurant as no Asian decor was to be seen. read more
