Fantastic! We were on a road trip heading across NY state and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch that wasn't a highway rest stop. Google led us here. We were questioning our choice when we pulled into a small strip mall with very few cars. When we walked inside, the atmosphere was wonderful though, and the food and service was spectacular! Hidden gem, this place! We had two littles with us, and they quickly offered chopstick helpers and super cool kids drinks -- a carbonated strawberry soda in a fun container. Kids were huge fans! We tried a number of special rolls and they were all spectacular. One of my favorite rolls is not fancy nor a common favorite -- sweet potato with cream cheese. I've sampled this in many many sushi restaurants, and the version at East Sushi was so good I will make an extra effort to seek it out the next time I find myself passing near Sherrill. We were staying at Turning Stone Resort & Casino and wanted some better sushi than what the buffet place at TS offered. Fortunately Yelp helped us find this spot because the sushi was AWESOME!! We were here with another couple and all four of us said the sushi here was as good as the sushi that we have on Long Island and even the better places in NYC. We were not expecting much when we pulled up because it is in a strip mall that looked a bit run down. It also did not help that the first time we came, there was only one other customer. It was around 2:30 in the afternoon to be fair. Once we got the food though, we were SO happy. I would highly recommend the sushi/sashimi combo. You get four sashimi assortments with 3 pieces of each fish. You get a few sushi pieces and a California roll. The maki combo was also good. The sushi was so good we came back for lunch again the next day. The only negative is that if you ask for extra wasabi, they may charge you 50 cents. They did not do that the first time, but did the second time around. If/when we come back to Turning Stone again, we will definitely make this part of the itinerary. read more

The "Salmon Lovers" plate that I had was the most amazing salmon sushi I've ever had in my life. The salmon was so good that in the middle of my friend talking I raised one finger to make her stop because it was either focus on the amazing salmon or listen to what she was talking about and I literally couldn't do both - it was so delicious it was overwhelmingly good. Everything looked fantastic, the appetizers were great, and the miso soup was seriously the best miso soup I've ever had in my life. It was smaller than I expected but it didn't feel cramped. The seating was comfortable and the service was great. I'm not in town for long but I'll make it a point to stop back here at least a couple more times. read more

The staff were so nice and welcoming, which made our first experience start with a big plus. We had a birthday party of 4, and tried many rolls. The people are very nice and appreciative of your business. The sushi is not very good. It is not fresh. The eel is chewy and fishy smelling. The rolls are also very small. We tried to like, even going back a third time. I wish it was good as it would be nice to have sushi so close. But I guess we'll keep making the drive to sumo. read more
