    Gigantic hungry hippo

Fun times for everyone! This place has lots to do for the whole family. We played mini golf, race cars and virtual game. there were lots of arcade type games, laser tag and even a gigantic hungry hippo game. Looks like a great place to have a birthday party with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

We played mini golf, go karting, and the arcade here. It was super fun, and always try to go early or kinda late so its not super crowded. We had lots of fun, and its pretty affordable! A perfect place to go with family and kids, or just a fun date night!

I've been going to the Frankie's in Charleston since I was a kid. After I moved to Columbia, I've grown to like this one. Compared to the Frankie's in Charleston, this one is bigger so they have more selection with the video games and have more non-arcade activities including laser tag, larger putt putt course, and a fun house. It's located in Harbison so there's a lot of shopping and good restaurants nearby. For their arcade games, they have something for everyone. They have your classic Skee-ball and basketball games. There's also have your typical ticket games that you can earn tickets for prizes, shooter games, and prize machines. What's unique is that they have this huge Pacman 4 person air hockey near the Fun House that's a lot of fun. They rotate their machines, but right now they have a Kung-Fu panda game, Connect 4, Deal or no Deal, Time Crisis, Flappy Bird, and alot more games. Outside, they have a putt putt, go-karts, batting cage, drop zone, and bumper boats. I've only done the putt-putt and go-karts. The putt-putt is really worth it because if you go with a decent group, you can play for an hour or longer on one of their multiple 18-hole courses. Also, the scenery is great, you're surrounded by water and green and they even have a mini Rainbow Row from Charleston in the background. The go-karts they let you play around 4 or 5 minutes on the course and they have single and two seated carts. If you're hungry, they have a basic concession stand that has foods inside like pizzas, wings, hot dogs and sandwiches. Nothing fancy, and a little expensive in my opinion. For expenses, I usually come with my friends here to do Putt-Putt, which is about $8 for a 18-hole and then $15 each for arcade games so it can get expensive. Overall, this Frankie's is worth going to at least once if you like Putt-Putt, Go-Karts, and arcade games. It usually costs at least $15 a dollar a person so it can be expensive if you bring your family.

My 1st time going there. The hot dog was pretty good. The Pina Caloda was delicious. The go carts were fun to drive. My family play mini golf, they enjoyed it. We would come here again. They also play baseball and enjoyed that as well.

I haven't been to an arcade in years, but I felt a hankering to blow a few quarters in a machine and shoot up some aliens or bad guys or whatevers. Frankie's apparently has such a game room, but I sure couldn't find it. Skee Ball, racing, Guitar Hero and some others, but nothing that was a shoot-em-up. I put my money back into my pocket and headed elsewhere. The kids might really like it. They have a legendary go kart track, but it wasn't operating on the night I stopped in.

Putt-putt golf is fun, and scenic but expensive at $8 per adult! Games are pricey, so expect to shell out some $$$ if you bring children.

The kids love it here so I take them every so often. Not too expensive. A pretty good variety of games.

The mini golf is very scenic but boring. Every hole is very similar and it becomes underwhelming, especially for the price.

The lemonade and fruit punch was too sweet for me but the kids loved it. I thought they were colored sugar water. The birthday girl received game credits for the game area. We ended up having to upgrade to the VIP lanes since the time we originally wanted was booked on the regular lanes. I'm so glad we upgraded because it was a more personal experience. We had 10 kids so we were given two lanes and had our own section. Stars and Strikes did a great job setting up, they provided balloons, cups, plates and napkins. When we arrived, Delanie (our amazing host) was standing at the front with a sign that said happy birthday Sophia, the sign also listed the itinerary for the day. They did such a great job communicating with us prior to and even during the event. The kids all enjoyed their burgers. They said the lemonade was really good but the sweet tea was not their favorite. One of the parents ordered drinks at the bar and said they were really good, nice and strong. My dad ordered beer and said it was surprisingly affordable ($5). Some others in our group ordered food separately and really enjoyed it. The menu looked amazing. If I wasn't wrangling kids all day I would have ordered something. Everything started on time, bowling started at 12:30, around 12:45ish they brought out the food. Then at 1:15 Delanie came and got us for bumper cars. After that at 1:30 was laser tag. After this we went back to bowling for the remainder of our time. Once our bowling time ended, we were able to move over to the tables near the bar and set up to sing happy birthday. After the happy birthdays the kids played arcade games with their preloaded cards. I ended up participating in the bumper cars and the laser tag with the kids and it was a blast. They also really enjoyed the bowling and the arcade portion. Overall this was a must do for a kids party or even for adult date night. Highly recommend booking vip regardless of the option you choose. Delanie was our host from beginning to end and she was amazing! She answered all our questions, was so patient, and always there when we needed her. Make sure you tip your host, all money goes to them. They also have the cutest robots that deliver your food.

I'm glad they have somewhere safe and healthy to hang out. It was a bit overwhelming for me with my two young ones. Not because of the older young kids, but there were so many people. The lines are long, and the majority of the staff is in a lackadaisical haze, like, hello, snap into it and get with it so you can move these people where they need to be. Make announcements about the waiver, have a line for those who need socks, and get people checked in and paid. Like, let's match the energy of the crowd. The bounce house is a nice feature for the kids. There are older kids in there hanging out, but they are not bothersome, nor are they rude. The small kids are running around having a blast anyways. I do love that there's plenty of seating for people watching their kids. The go-kart area is the coolest part, and my son loves it. They were closed for maintenance the last time we went, which was disappointing, but he didn't mind as much as I did. They issue helmets and let them go lap around a few times. It is fun and cute. The staff in the go-kart area is young, so they are laid back and will chit-chat, but for the most part, they are great and attentive and ensure safety. The trampoline area is interesting. It goes widthwise, and it is a lot going on, but it is a really good space. My kids enjoy it. I don't ever think we make it to the far end of the area, which is why I say it's an interesting setup. The arcade area is small but has a variety. You can purchase a card and play some games for fun and others for tickets. The birthday party area is upstairs, and it's pretty big. It is a fun place for the kids even if they have a lot going on.

I booked the venue for 10/25, but on 10/23, things went left. Up until then, communication and everything else had been fine. However, the owner gave one of my vendors incorrect information regarding communication, which wasn't true and felt unprofessional. That's when my experience started to shift. Another thing that bothered me was being asked to pay a damage waiver, then later finding out from my decorator that the owner had been onsite during setup. When I arrived around 7:30 PM for my Halloween photoshoot, the owner was sitting outside in her car. While I was inside taking pictures, she remained nearby. Once I realized she was still there, I decided not to continue my shoot and texted my decorator to come gather her things. Once my decorator came to collect her items, the owner joined us inside and stayed there until we finished, which added to the uneasy feeling I already had. Even though the event itself was canceled and I only used the venue for a photoshoot, I still paid for full-day access and expected to feel comfortable during my rental time. The venue is beautiful, but the owner's approach and lack of professionalism really took away from what could have been a much better experience. Update to Owner's Response: First, let's talk about communication. You were being lazy -- plain and simple. You know we've been communicating through email and Facebook Messenger, and your own response to my message (which I'll gladly post) proves my point. Second, I changed my personal phone number, which I'm under no obligation to share with you, especially since we were already in contact through multiple other ways. Instead of reaching out by email or Messenger like you've always done, you chose not to contact me at all -- and then lied by saying you couldn't reach me. What's worse is you contacted my decorator first, before even attempting to message me directly, and I have receipts of you admitting it. Third, let's address the deposit situation. I was asked to pay a damage waiver while you were onsite the entire time, monitoring everything during setup and throughout the evening. That didn't sit right with me, because if you're physically present the whole time, what exactly is the waiver protecting you from? Also, when we book an event, we're paying for private use of that space during the hours listed on the contract -- not for the owner to hover or interfere. You're supposed to be on contact for emergencies, not stationed inside the venue watching over everyone like a chaperone. Lastly, I don't care if you and my decorator worked well together or if other clients like you being onsite -- I didn't ask for you to be there. My review reflects my experience, not anyone else's.

Everything was set up as I asked for it to be. Throughout the process I felt that special attention was being given to my requests and timeframes. The owner even threw in some extras that I had not thought to ask for. I was grateful for her consideration, because that was above the tenets of our contract. Many of my guests remarked on the space and inquired about booking it for their events. I was so pleased, that I have already booked the space for another event this year. I am always excited/grateful when supporting small business owners goes well. I can say, without a doubt, that Luxe will be my go to venue in the future.
