Amazing food and wonderful service. We are staying at the Hilton next-door and didn't feel like going very far so we kind of stumbled into this place. The atmosphere is beautiful and we would definitely recommend it. Mylie was our server and was very friendly

Loved the jazz peformance, nice ambience fof date night and formal dinner. Food was okay, definitely filling with large portions and yummy cocktails! Service is pretty reasonable for how busy and packed it was.

Great service, food was better than I was expecting, and the music was fantastic. I highly recommend making a reservation a week or farther in advance since tickets seem to sell out pretty quickly for an event.

Just happened to stroll by this place, as it is adjacent to our hotel. Came in for a light dinner and saw a jazz trio perform. The music was outstanding, as well the venue, service and food. Sat at the bar. The bartender never missed a beat. Started with an old fashioned, then switched to a locally produced red wine that was very good. Also got the Margaretta pizza which was excellent and just enough.

What a fun night out at Frankie's! You need to reserve a table online, to see a live show its $17.50/pp. You need a credit card to reserve. This amount gets added to your food or drink bill when you arrive. Food was delicious. They make most of their own pasta so I highly recommend. I ordered the rigatoni with Italian sausage and it was perfect. Great flavour, bite size pieces of tasty sausage and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Drink menu is extensive and wine is reasonably priced. We ordered a bottle of Gray Monk Pinot Gris for $40.00. The jazz was awesome. The bands change weekly it seems so we happen to see Kuya Quintet, they were great. loved it. We will be back for sure!

Stopped at Frankie's during my first visit to Vancouver BC. I enjoyed a lovely performance from a local Jazz band ... was fortunate enough to find seats for two during the second jazz set sans reservation. The drink selection and food selections are quite nice ... the shrimp scampi pasta simply delicious ...

One of my favorite go to places in Vancouver! Wonderful live music with a rotating roster of talented musicians. Food was also delicious, I got the spaghetti and meatballs we shared some tiramisu. A great place for a night out with friends or a romantic evening with a date.

The music and food were incredible. Enjoyed the fresh salmon salad and a fruit forward Malbec. Loved hearing Lewis Nash, Peter Washinqton, and Mike Allen for his CD release of "Just Like Magic". The venue has excellent acoustics and the staff is friendly.

My husband and I stopped in during a "staycation" in downtown Vancouver as we had never really been to a jazz club. We didn't have food, so this review is purely for the music & drinks. We found the atmosphere to be inviting, and although the music wasn't exactly what we thought of as "jazz" it was still very enjoyable. Our waitress was attentive & we were never left without drinks. We look forward to going back and trying the food!

Just OK. OK food. OK jazz. OK service. Some guy was yapping through the sets and no-one shushed him. Annoying.

A few years…read moreago, the most recent owners took on the gigantic project of restoring this 1920s era vaudeville/movie house to its former glory, while also adding modern sound and lighting and reconfiguring the seating into a dinner theatre style. The pictures don't lie - there are big red velvet drapes, chandeliers and exotic Moorish/Morroccan touches like columns and murals. Just a damn cool theatre to see a show in, and I've now been to a few, from burlesque shows to my comedy idols like Bruce McCulloch. Upstairs in the smaller, and less lavishly appointed room, is Lafflines, which is a great spot to see up and coming comedians while having a few glasses of sorrow-drowning liquids and a basket of chicken strips. Both upstairs and downstairs have the same basic menu, so if you can deal with Sleemans and nachos, you're laughing. The wine list is OK, and for girl-drink drunks, they've got some sweet throwback martinis. The servers are really nice, but there never seem to be enough of them, so be decisive when they come around, because they might not get back around to you for a while! I've noticed that for some of the shows in the theatre, they'll have maybe two or three working the entire venue. Upstairs, one or two depending on the night (I tend to go on Thursdays for amateur night, so it's not usually very full). For all the fanciness of the decor, it's not at all posh, just a laid-back place to go see a live show. If you don't like fun, well, stay home.

We got there quite early into service so not a lot of people in the place. The ceiling is low, it's kind of dark, but somehow it works. It feels maybe more intimate, which was right up our alley. We wanted some nibbles, not a full blown meal lest we fall asleep during the performance. Happy hour was still on so we ordered the dill pickle chips and the burger sliders combo. Both were excellent! The chips were spot on definitely dill pickley, nicely cooked and crispy. The sliders were really great as well, not too small like many we've had lately and you could really taste the beef. Our martinis were also great although a little more juice in the "dirty" side of the equation and perhaps an olive without a pit. We also ordered the BLT with mixed greens, which we probably didn't need but Les Mis is almost three hours long. The service was also great, waters topped up regularly and the servers interactive and interesting. We would absolutely come back to Ventura again. Oh and Les Misérables was outstanding!
