What we ordered: Crostini - Wagyu(Wagyu tartar Smoked bone marrow emulsion, onion ash and pickles) Tonnato(Confit Albacone tunnel belly Fried capers) Stacciatella(house stracciatella, balsamic,Perl's and basil) Tapenade(olive, sun dried tomatoes, roasted pepper and Calabrian chill) Wagyu was the best. It was full of flavor and wagyu was tender. Great item. Tonnato was also good. Very solid item. I did not have stacciatella. Tapenade was sour side, with strong olive and roasted pepper flavors stand out. Vongole(savory clams, fermented Taragu mares chilli white wine and parsley, squid ink linguine) Highlight! Clam and Vongole sauce were very delicious! Squid ink linguine was also good. It was good to have sauce with bread. Bistecca(Babette steak, Amaro jus, garlic scapes, frisee and hazelnuts) This item was also very delicious. Medium rare steak was tender(a bit chewy) the garlic scapes, hazelnut and frisée combination was excellent. i really enjoyed having together with meat. Overall, I really liked this restaurant. What a lovely discovery. I had walked by this place a number of times and never stopped. Foolish mistake! Four of us went for dinner and had the tasting menu. We weren't sure what to expect especially because the price was so reasonable. The food was absolutely delicious. Each course was innovative and delicious. The service was fantastic. We went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we were able to move reservation to during happy hour (where it was less busy and with better prices). As we were a large group, service was a bit of a challenging point for them as there were times where they mix up our order or take a while before realizing they forgot to put down our orders. Supposedly, the black truffle chips were complimentary during happy hour, instead of 3CAD as mentioned in the menu, so that was a nice surprise. We got 1 of each crostini, Beam Me Up Negroni, and Boulevardier. - Wagyu tartare - their signature and my favorite. Fresh beef with not too strong of pickle flavor - Tonno - albacore tuna and tonnato - decent, a bit fishy for my liking - Ceci - crushed chickpea and slow roasted tomato - pretty decent, very flavorful and fresh - Stracciatella - stracciatella, balsamic pearls, basil - this one was a bit strong for my liking but it was pretty unique with the balsamic pearls - Tapenade - olive, sun dried tomato, roasted pepper, calabrian chili - despite olive not being my favorite food, I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor combinations of this The black truffle chips were addictingly good and with the mix-up mentioned above, we actually never gotten these chips until when we got the check. I was told Bar Corso was known for their cocktails and that they were amazing. I'm not sure if I went in with high expectations as I've been to some amazing restaurants with great cocktails. I wasn't impressed with their cocktails, and the food for the price point was alright, considering this I will not be back. Although some of the appetizers were great like the tuna and wagyu im 100 percent sure I could get something better. Overall 3 stars good but nothing special. A little bar we stopped by after dinner. With there not being that many people when we arrived, we sat at the bar as soon as we walked in. The restaurant itself was dimly lit so it gave it a very lowkey, mysterious vibe. There is only one big table for a group of 4+ people other than that they have the bar and smaller booths. Came for late night dinner with our party of 4. The place was still hoping on a holiday Sunday. We ordered Wagu Tatar crostino and tuna crudo crostino to start. They are bite size so the server suggested to order one of each per person. Good thing we did as I can have 4 of the wagu crostino myself. It was delish. We ordered 3 mains to share since it was late and we didn't want to be too full. We had the daily pasta which was bucatini with bolognese sauce and shavings of pine mushrooms. Very intense flavour. Wow it's been a hot minute since i had such delicious italian food. This experience hit all the right spots and really left my taste palette mesmerized. I never knew i'd like sourdough bread so much accompanying so many of my dishes But wooo if you do like to drink, that Almafi Sour is a must!! That wildflower empress gin really wows you!! That featured pasta of the day wasn't so much of a huge hit for me. The noodles itself semi tasted partially undercooked? Texture wasn't all that consistent .. parts of it were kinda hard. But aside from that the shrimp went well really nicely ... not too sure if $34 for the pasta was really worth it though. Great happy hour times on Saturday!! I came here with my partner just when happy hour started. The staff was so friendly and accommodating - service was great. Plan for max group of 4, spacing appeared quite small at the restaurant, unless you like to get cozy! There's also outdoor seating outside on the street. We were non-stop inhaling the crostinis. Been meaning to try this restaurant as I've tried their sister restaurant, Published on Main. Came here with a party of four and decided on the tasting menu. The restaurant, a dim light narrow restaurant. Whatever they were cooking in the kitchen you can smell it. The fumes irritated some of the girls eyes. Service was great when they brought out the food, however in between such as refilling our drinks could have been better. My favourite dishes of the night, the corsitinis + the pasta dish which I cannot remember the ooo name. The other pasta dish with the rabbit was overly salty. We did not finish the dish. We made a reservation several weeks ago for seven people last night, and they gave us three tiny round tables with quite a bit of space in between. It was almost impossible to have a conversation at all, as it was so noisy and we were so far apart. When we asked about another table that was larger and had just been vacated, they said it was reserved. But we had a reservation, too! The food was overpriced, and the server tried to push the Wagyu tatar - one for each person. We declined and just had some prosecco, the charcuterie board, and the eggplant appetizer. The charcuterie board was overpriced and disappointing - it even had some kind of orange marmelade on it, and no olives! The cheese was cut into cubes, like something you'd get served at an office do. The best part was that eggplant appetizer. When we finished the appetizers, we left and went to a less noisy place for dinner. My recommendation is not to book this place with a larger group - it's probably fine for date nights. read more

The highlight of the night was the mushroom and rabbit pasta (albeit slightly over-salted). Everything else fell a bit short for us, including the service. We tried to order more food and drinks but couldn't catch our server's attention every time he passed by. We had to catch a movie afterwards so ended up not ordering more due to time constraints. We also tried the salmon rillette and wagyu beef crostinis. At $7 a pop, these were pretty pricey for what it was worth. The roe on the salmon crostini was nice and fresh, however the rillette felt like I was eating canned salmon. The waygu beef was nice but the smokiness overpowered it. We also tried the meatballs - the meatballs were great! However, the sauce fell a bit short for me and gave me Campbell's tomato soup feels. ROASTED MUSHROOM - egg yolk jam & parmigiano reggiano, CRUSHED CHICKPEA - chermoula & mint, ROASTED PLUM - whipped ricotta & balsamic pearls, WAGYU BEEF TARTAR - porcini eulsion & tuscan kale, ALBACORE TUNA - tonnato, capers & parley. Nice bar on Commercial Drive. Ambiance is good. Prices are high, but the quality is there, and the drinks are certainly well made. Did not try the food. Not a place where you can interact with other clients easily due to the long and narrow set up of the space, but it is a good spot to meet with a friend or 2 (as space is limited). This restaurant is amazing. As for the review about the homeless person. I was there and watched the whole thing. The bartender kindly asked the homeless person to not smoke their weed right in the door way (as shown in the video). Customer were finding it difficult to come and leave the restaurant. One customer had their 10 year old daughter trying to leave the restaurant. Afterwards a group of young kids with nothing better to do, started verbally attacking the bartender. The homeless person joined in. Ridiculous behaviour. Restaurants have a hard enough time as it is. To ask a person to step away from a door way to not smoke pot is not an upsetting unreasonable request. read more

Went to happy hour with 3 friends as we were anxious to try out this relatively new restaurant on the drive. Firstly all staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Our server made us each a tequila highball that was excellent ($4!). We ordered the 5 crostini for $15, they were all excellent! Also, got the meatballs and zucchini ribbons with prawns.
