We got Hugo spritz, negroni, campri classico. The Hugo spritz was not bad. Negroni was strong which i liked The crostini we had was quite disappointing. The bread was crunchy but the beef tartare was quite bad. The ricotta did not taste like ricotta at all but instead tasted like beans. Would not come back again

A little bar we stopped by after dinner. With there not being that many people when we arrived, we sat at the bar as soon as we walked in. The restaurant itself was dimly lit so it gave it a very lowkey, mysterious vibe. There is only one big table for a group of 4+ people other than that they have the bar and smaller booths. We just grabbed a quick drink, I ordered the Almafi Sour and it was really good!

Came for late night dinner with our party of 4. The place was still hoping on a holiday Sunday. We ordered Wagu Tatar crostino and tuna crudo crostino to start. They are bite size so the server suggested to order one of each per person. Good thing we did as I can have 4 of the wagu crostino myself. It was delish. We ordered 3 mains to share since it was late and we didn't want to be too full. We had the daily pasta which was bucatini with bolognese sauce and shavings of pine mushrooms. Very intense flavour. Then followed by the smoke eggplant stuffed with olive tapenade. Nice smoky flavour that came through. We finished with the bison striploin. It was a very satisfying meal indeed

Wow it's been a hot minute since i had such delicious italian food. This experience hit all the right spots and really left my taste palette mesmerized. I never knew i'd like sourdough bread so much accompanying so many of my dishes But wooo if you do like to drink, that Almafi Sour is a must!! That wildflower empress gin really wows you!! That featured pasta of the day wasn't so much of a huge hit for me. The noodles itself semi tasted partially undercooked? Texture wasn't all that consistent .. parts of it were kinda hard. But aside from that the shrimp went well really nicely ... not too sure if $34 for the pasta was really worth it though. Prices are a bit of a splurge i'd say but definitely worth experiencing. service was amazing and be sure to make reservations ... the ambiance was really lively! dim but energetic with high energy people and really good taste in music. Perfect place for drinks after work or date night .. oo they do have happy hour too. Website mentions everything

Came here during the Dine Out festival in January 2025 with a friend. Everything from the food, ambiance, and service were amazing. My favourite dish was definitely the wagyu crostini - it's smoky and rich, but also perfectly balanced. The menu changes regularly so I'll definitely visit again :)

Great happy hour times on Saturday!! I came here with my partner just when happy hour started. The staff was so friendly and accommodating - service was great. Plan for max group of 4, spacing appeared quite small at the restaurant, unless you like to get cozy! There's also outdoor seating outside on the street. We were non-stop inhaling the crostinis. Our favourites were the wagyu and buratta crostinis. Will definitely come again!

Been meaning to try this restaurant as I've tried their sister restaurant, Published on Main. Came here with a party of four and decided on the tasting menu. The restaurant, a dim light narrow restaurant. Whatever they were cooking in the kitchen you can smell it. The fumes irritated some of the girls eyes. Service was great when they brought out the food, however in between such as refilling our drinks could have been better. My favourite dishes of the night, the corsitinis + the pasta dish which I cannot remember the ooo name. The other pasta dish with the rabbit was overly salty. We did not finish the dish. I am happy I was able to try this restaurant. But I rather eat at Published on Main.

Trendy little tapas/bar place on commerical drive. $10 happy hour cocktails were nice, especially their sours. I think it's a great place for a cute drink with a friend, but keep in mind that they're often booked in advance, so secure a reservation. Good service.

Happy hour menu is good! Server was extremely personable and took a shot with us. Espresso Martini was frothed well

We had an amazing time dining here at this restaurant. The food was unreal and the service was amazing. Definitely recommend checking out this awesome spot. We will be back again!

Our server brian was delightful! Loved his vibe and he gave complimentary bread with our drinks. The bar had a very cool bar interior. Come in on Thursday for their discounted spritz!

The highlight of the night was the mushroom and rabbit pasta (albeit slightly over-salted). Everything else fell a bit short for us, including the service. We tried to order more food and drinks but couldn't catch our server's attention every time he passed by. We had to catch a movie afterwards so ended up not ordering more due to time constraints. We also tried the salmon rillette and wagyu beef crostinis. At $7 a pop, these were pretty pricey for what it was worth. The roe on the salmon crostini was nice and fresh, however the rillette felt like I was eating canned salmon. The waygu beef was nice but the smokiness overpowered it. We also tried the meatballs - the meatballs were great! However, the sauce fell a bit short for me and gave me Campbell's tomato soup feels. Love the decor, ambiance and atmosphere - a very trendy addition to Commercial Drive. Unfortunately there are some better options along the Drive that offer better value and service.

Server was such a vibe! Gave us complimentary bread to go with our drinks and made us feel so welcomed and fast service

That said, considering the food is mostly pre-prepared and it wasn't busy, the wait was surprisingly long. We also shared two other dishes, which were good, but the service was extremely slow--so much so that we eventually gave up on trying to have a full meal there and left still hungry. We ended up going to another restaurant nearby. I'd come back for a glass of wine and the baguette bites, but not for a full dinner. It's just too slow. Given the simplicity of the dishes, the timing didn't quite make sense--especially since the bar service was fine and the server was very friendly. I even saw the cook coming out to chat with tables several times, which was a bit confusing considering how slowly the food was coming out.

It had gruyere cheese, honey and Dijon mustard. It was super addicting. The chorizo was oily and savoury. Might come in just to share this The steak tartare ($17) was not bad. Bread was nice and crunchy. Would have been nice if it had a bit more seasoning on it Gambas ($18) the prawns were huge and perfectly cooked. Had a good snap to it. Wish it had a bit more garlic flavour Espresso martini was okay. Nothing memorable. Wouldn't order it again. Service was great. Super friendly and nice. They came to check on us multiple times. Food came out fast. Overall would come back for some quick snacks and try more of their cocktails

Fabulous little spot along Commercial drive! Always packed but open late!!…read more This place has delicious, unique cocktails and tasty small bites. I tried several cocktails here and found them all to be really good in their own way. The cocktails are a twist from classic drinks and they do not disappoint. I tried Tonka, Suika, Kuri and Ume. Loved all of them and each had distinctive tastes from each other. My faves were Kuri and Ume. Can't wait to try other things on the menu. The service is great. Staff are eclectic and happy to help. This place is small, and a bit dark. It is also quite loud. Better for friends gathering to try drinks and food than an intimate date spot (unless you're into loud but lively bars, and don't mind loudly talking to your date). Highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time as spots fill up fast. I only got a reservation in day of, late at night!

Lively atmosphere and cute colourful decor no matter which angle you look. Service is wonderful, drinks are unique, and the bartenders put lots of care in their prep. I was not a fan but my friend REALLY liked it *Wagyu sliders, fun concept but didn't seem so different from a regular burg As a non-drinker I'm not compelled to return, but worth a try!

We had the best time at Odd Society, and I am still smiling two days later. Initially perplexed,…read moresince our Uber dropped us off one block away, we had no idea where we were in the dark of the Canadian night. Surrounded by warehouses, did the driver want us to experience a "call of the wild?" However, Odd Society beckoned one block from the corner, and two seats were available at the strange bar. Strange because our view was blocked by a kind of ersatz plastic and wood wagon wheel blocking our view of the servers and bar. It was reminiscent of Utah's Zion Curtain. Later, I was told it was part of Odd Society's Covid protection and helped the bartenders stack things up. Okay, fine, but tear the damn things down. They're obnoxious. Odd Society creates an array of liquors made from ingredients sourced locally by law. It's required by their license. I tried almost all of them, and most were fantastic. Abby and Colin, our servers, were charming, fun, and educational, answering my questions, which became increasingly inane as the alcohol took effect. The distillery also mixes fantastic cocktails, and mine, named Midori, was friggen unbelievable. I had two of them along with my liquor tasting. My Midori was made with a special concoction called Portuguese Sweet Milk, or something like that. It was amazing. I want one for breakfast. The fun kept coming, and I didn't want to leave. Alas, we had reservations at Lunch Lady up the street. We should have stayed at Odd Society. Lunch Lady was a disappointment. Try Odd Society out as both a distillery and cocktail bar. You won't be disappointed about either one.

I have a friend who loves to drink so when he was back in town, I bookmarked this place to bring…read morehim to as I saw many great reviews and pictures. In summary, the place was ok, but noticed after the fact that we were overcharged for the drinks. It's a small space - about 3 high tables, one lower one, each seating 4 to maybe at most 5 people, plus a bar. I reserved a table for the 2 of us at 3:30 pm on a Sunday (earliest reservation they had as they open at 3 pm) and we were seated at 3 pm. They checked our vaccine passports and then seated us. Not long after we were seated, the remaining tables were all taken just after opening for 30 minutes so I would recommend reserving if you prefer tables over bar seating. The waitress brought over a drinks menu and food menu. The menu showed cocktails at $13. We chose our drinks and ordered, then the waitress came by with a second menu that she said was for Sunday only. She apologized and said she normally doesn't work Sunday's so she didn't know this promotional menu was available. This menu had some cocktails on promotion that I would have not minded to try, but I had already received my cocktail. Oh well. I had the Violet and Claire, which looked great and tasted pretty good for the first half. However by the second half of the drink, it started to taste too sweet. It was not bad for a cocktail, overall. My friend said the Smoke Between the Sheets cocktail was alright as well. We got our bills quickly as we had a second place to visit afterwards. After paying, I snapped a picture of the bill at the time but did not notice until I got home that to my surprise, each cocktail was listed on the bill at $14.95. I recalled their physical menu saying $13, and verified this with their menu online. Unfortunately, I did not notice the discrepancy until I was home, otherwise I would have mentioned something. Note that our visit was at the end of November 2021, and at the time I'm writing this review (December 26, 2021), their online menu still has cocktail prices at $13. So, I am not sure if this was a one time mistake when we paid, or if they have just forgotten to update their menu? Either way, this was disappointing. Because of the entire experience I probably won't visit again, especially with all the other options Vancouver has for cocktails.
