Went to meet friends here was seated and was asked if we would like anything to drink then that was it. Sat there for 15 min no menus no service. Our friends who were sitting at another table got up and left we asked for the bill for a coke and bottle water and when I told the waitress why we were leaving she couldn't care a less! Came upon this restaurant while staying at the Airbnb lofts beside this establishment (Loft 268). As I was viewing the menu, located on a stand outside the restaurant, at the edge of the sidewalk, an employee approached as he was taking out the garbage. He said, at that time, they were only doing take out orders. Went inside and placed an order with the bartender. He may not have been the bartender but he was behind the bar. He had a "manager/owner" vibe to him. Anyhow, I placed my order for fried eggplant sticks and the pasta bolognese. As I was waiting, I noticed two parties being seated in the dining area. Then a 3rd couple also seated. Hmmm... I was told they were only doing take-out orders. Not a big deal, but still thought it best to mention. Took the food back to the airbnb. The fried eggplant, bland. Nothing. I mean, eggplant really has no taste but it does at the same time. This is where one would think to rely on the breading for taste and seasoning. The breading didn't help, totally unseasoned. Of the 4 eggplant sticks, I trashed the remaining 3 and 1/2. As for the pasta bolognese, it wasn't too bad. It had flavor and it was seasoned. They also sprinkled Parmesan cheese. Would I come back? Hmmm... no, I would not. But I still recommend others check it out, just don't order the fried eggplant sticks. read more

I've probably walked by this place 100 times and never particularly given it much thought but what it lacks in curb appeal and decor it makes up for with excellent pizza. I'd go as far to say it's probably the best pizza I've had in PV. The service was very good, the interior is unexciting but worked just fine or take it to go. read more

We went for the wine and pizza special and both were very good! Easy to get a table at about 6 and then the place filled up quickly.

Although I was initially a little skeptical because of the name, I'm so glad we ended up at Frankie's. It's super chill, which fit our mood last night perfectly. The staff were all very nice and the food was amazing- I can't get over how good my eggplant Parmesan was- probably the best I've ever had. My son had the sausage pizza- also delicious. My husband has the sausage rigatoni and was very pleased. The bread that came before the meal was also memorable, especially the basil oil that came for dipping. Ordinarily I'm NOT a fan of olive oil on bread, but I will forever make an exception for Frankie's concoction!! read more

Service was perfecto. Food was very good. Price is reasonable. They even helped and brought a bowl for my BaoBao. We went there after our long day of moving and I haven't fed my dog. Rodrigo provided service that was friendly and helpful as I was trying to decide what to order. Food was cooked promptly but more importantly, timed perfectly so I could finish my appetizer before bringing out my entree, The food was all delicious. I was impressed with the freshness of the tomatoes of the caprese (capri) which was elevated by the sweet balsamic. My Frankie's Linguini pasta was cooked al dente and shrimp also perfectly cooked. The toasted bread was like pizza dough - soft with a slight chew and crispy texture on the outside. But wait! The bread was served with a small bowl of pesto which I drizzled on some of my pasta. The house wine was surprisingly delicious too. After everything being perfect, I had to have dessert, Tiramisu with coffee/Irish Cream. I'll be back for sure read more

Very nice people here, but the rating is for the quality of the food. We had the spaghetti bolognese and chicken parmigiana with a side of pasta instead of salad. The side of pasta was bolognese style which is fine because that's what I was going to order before deciding on the parmigiana so it worked out. Both plates are very well served. However, the spaghetti was flavorless and tasted like water. Not sure if the bolognese sauce is watered down but the plate was literally so flavorless. The chicken parmigiana was okay, I'd give it a 4/10. We decided on this restaurant to get an Italian fix since they have great reviews and we've had all the other great food already, so on our last night we said why not. Great food on an old style family feel setting. The complimentary pesto and bread starter is worth the visit, but the lasagne is great.

I've been coming here for a few years. Price is right and food is good but I witnessed the bartender yell and curse at an older couple because he didn't want them to sit in a certain place. I could not believe the vulgarity he used to this old couple and called the old lady a B....snd said if she didn't like it to get out. The rest of the staff is good. Service was great. Food was ok. It gets busy later for dinner. I had fairly low expectations coming here. You get some complimentary warm bread with pesto. The pesto is also good with your entree. I ordered the signature lasagna. It was a big portion. Unfortunately the lasagna was luke warm and even the cheese on top wasn't melted. Not sure if I'll be back. You don't naturally think of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico as a spot for Italian food, but Frankie's is terrific, and as someone who has lived in St. Louis with its fantastic Italian neighborhoods (The Hill) and has traveled extensively in Italy, I have been fortunate to eat some of the very best Italian cuisine, and Frankie's stacks up. Definitely try the pizza (I can't stop thinking about it). I also thought the tutti de mare (seafood pasta), meatballs, fried ravioli (invented in St. Louis!), calamari, and garlic bread were wonderful. Save room for Frankie's tiramisu. Fried Zucchini was lightly breaded severed with marinara sauce, Zucchini was very fresh, salid with tomatoes, lettuce, corn, salt, pepper, honey, apple cider vinegar. Salid was big enough for 2 people. Spaghetti with home made meatballs, home made sauce. Fresh baked bread served with Pesto. The food was Excellent, service was very good. I've lived beside Frankie's for a few years, finally tried it tonight. It's the kind of wonderful Italian restaurant you might find in a New York neighborhood: nothing fancy or unexpected, just good solid red-sauce-centric Italian food in a typical decor. They start with complimentary fresh baked bread with terrific pesto on the side. This is addictive; I dare you not to finish it. Next I had a Caesar salad: good, basic, nice size. Then I had the pasta carbonara. This was a standout. I've had the dish at 2 other Italian restaurants in town where they added something to make it creamier and saucier (i.e. NOT carbonara). Frankie's does it right, with perfect rich egginess that coats the pasta without pooling at the bottom. So good. I will be having this again. Then I splurged with a terrific tiramisu and a cup of coffee. I also had 2 glasses of wine with my meal. The prices were good, cash only. The pizzas looked great: thin crust, with good ratio of toppings and sauce. I look forward to trying them soon. I'm so glad I finally tried this gem of a restaurant. I'll be back. read more

Incredible food. Polite and prompt service. We just wanted to sit at our place and enjoy some food rather than dine in. Wandered to Frankie's for a change of food. I was warmly greeted at the door and immediately ordered. I was told it would be about 20mins which I expected. Turned out to be less and straight from the oven. It's all pretty heavy with garlic but that doesn't bother us. The food was amazing and the fresh focaccia bread was a nice addition. I'd order from there again. read more
