I choose this restaurant to conclude my last night as a first time solo international traveler. And I can say that I do not regret my choice. It was a great choice and the food did not disappoint. This place was only a 10 minute walk from my hotel. It was kinda different that I had multiple servers. (Not sure how they split the tip) but that were all very nice. This place has a romantic ambiance that is perfectly suitable for a nice intimate dinner alone, a birthday dinner, or any type of dinner that requires an intimate vibe. Is it kind of sad that one of my favorite places we ate at Puerto Vallarta was a pizza joint? The pizzas were a good portion, and not sure if they put something in the sauce, but it was addicting. We ate pizzas from here twice during our time in Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant was pretty close from our hotel, so we went here after shopping at the mall, and the second time, we were in our hotel and made the walk to get some pizzas to go. Put some olive oil, chili flakes and fresh parm on and you're cooking with gas ; and 2) Spagetti Mari e monte - $252 pesos - also tasty with same trick. This has bacon, shrimp, tomato's and a touch of cream. Unique taste and would recommend. . Both were delish and reasonable price. Overall, speedy service, friendly and nice restaurant. Food looks better than it tasted. Service started well, but somewhere along the way, it seems we were forgotten about despite us being seated in a highly visible area. We started with a waitress, halfway through we believe it changed to another person although we were never informed and still saw our initial waitress walking around, so we didn't quite know if we were waiting for her to come back or should be asking questions of the new waiter. Margherita pizza was okay. The one with added mushrooms was better than the one without. Both pizzas needed to be baked longer as the bottoms were pale and flimsy. Spaghetti bolognesa had an odd after taste. Complimentary bread as well as the garlic bread lacked in flavor and texture. Chicken parmigiana had a nice crunch, but make note that it comes with bland mashed potatoes and steamed veggies (not spaghetti). Fettucine Alfredo is a bit on the lemony side which I didn't mind. Although we wanted to order dessert, we didn't because getting a waiter's attention seemed to be more than it was worth at that point. In other news, prices were cheap and the restaurant has a really nice and cute feel to it. read more

No lie outside of Pepe's, this is the best meal I had in PV. First off the restaurant is beautiful okay?! The pizza was so good, I could have finished the pie off myself. Excellent service. As soon as we walk up the stairs, the doors were opened for us and we were immediately greeted. Very nice ambience. Our waiter, Hector, was very attentive to our needs and super friendly. Prices were very reasonable. We each had a side salad and split the Ferrari pizza, which had prosciutto and mushrooms. The pizza is wood fire and is sooooo good. We then split a tiramisu for dessert and gobbled that up as well. We will definitely be back!! This is one of our new favorites in PV. read more

It was very fishy, which led me to think it was tin fish, not a fresh fillet as I was expecting. Stick with the ordinary menu. When we were paying we put out all our cash and asked them to put the rest on our card. We are in Puerto Vallarta for two weeks for our wedding anniversary. La Dolce is right across from Where we were staying. We LOVED the restaurant so much, we have eaten there 3 times in the 10 days we have been here so far. Our food server for the last 2 times was Hector. He was so friendly and attentive. He provided exceptional service!!! The food is amazing; from the handcrafted pasta to delectable pizzas, everything was awesome. The restaurant is great location for celebrations. We are here our first night in Puerto Vallarta and the food was great. Loved the Beef Medallions. The Alfredo sauce for fettuccine is also very good, especially as leftovers the next day. On our last night, the kiddos wanted to return and again our meal was great. Raymond worked with us on some of the pickiness of my children and brought us some plates that were a little customized. My kids have never had lasagna (just knew their limits so never offered). Tonight I was craving it and they felt like trying it. I ordered it with Alfredo sauce to cut the acidity of the red sauce. My wife had spinach cannelloni- test if us returned to lasagna. Fabulous lasagne. Had trouble finding dry red wine - after several attempts. Otherwise marvelous dinner. We appreciate the family upscale atmosphere. When we lodge near marina we can't taxi downtown every night do this is a good compromise location- offer both inside AC tables and outside tables. Never ever ever go here. Horrible!!!!! The waiter was rude to begin with when we didn't order alcohol drinks or appetizers for the whole table. If I could give negative stars I would. We ordered: The Chicken parm had no pasta and was dry The Mare salad seafood was tough and small The pasta dishes had barely any pasta The mojito had no alcohol Calamari in red sauce with the calamari being tough the sauce was good We are not given any napkins to start off with. They plopped a bottle of olive oil and balsamic down on the table with no plate to mix it. The butter tasted like lard. We asked if we could have meatballs and were told very rudely how they don't do that, in fact every time we asked for stuff it was basically "we don't do that here". Our initial rude waiter never came back to the table. Then right when we paid the bill still sitting there the waiter picks up the bill and stares at the tip in front of us!!!! Having eaten nothing but Mexican food for a few days while in Puerto Vallarta, I was craving something else to eat, and La Dolce happened to be right across the street from our condo, so we walked over and had dinner. The restaurant is nice and yet still casual, there is a bar with outside seating and if you prefer to get out of the heat, right through the glass doors is inside eating with air conditioning! The service was excellent, the waiters were super attentive, constantly keeping our sodas and waters filled. The bread they bring the table while waiting was very good too. My wife opted for a simple dinner salad, and I gave their pizza a try. The couple we were with ordered the lasagna and another pasta dish I cannot remember what it was though. We started off with some calamari, it was pretty good, nothing spectacular, but good. My wife's salad, well..it's a salad, can't really do much with that. The pizza was decent, again nothing outstanding, but definitely was good. The lasagne I tried a bite of, and although it had good flavor, it was a bit over cooked and a bit charred. This wasn't the best Italian food I've ever had, and also not the worst. If you're looking for something a little above average with incredible service and nice atmosphere, La Dolce is definitely worth the try. read more

The pizza dough is really good.... their bread is also exceptional... the prices are fair... we ordered the Margherita pizza... it was ok... but like I said the dough is really good so it made up for the flavor... the traditional spaghetti was good... the sauce was actually really good... the pasta was slightly over cooked.. I like it all dente... but over all its a good pizza place... nice service and nice decor with good food... their ice tea and lemonade is super good (something I've noticed vallarta is really good at is their lemonade!... it's not as excessively sweet as it usually is back I the states)... anyways..
