    Smoked meat poutine
    Lloyd M.

Went for the poutine but the chicken wings were the star. Really liked how they were prepared, juicy and crispy with nice spices. The smokes meat poutine had a ton of meat and pickles, which was nice but not as awesome as I expected. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and friendly service.

We stumbled across this place while looking for a lunch spot and since we wanted to get smoked meat and poutine this seemed to be a good fit! The smoked meat sandwich was tasty and if you haven't had it before it is somewhat similar to corned beef. The poutine was also good per the family member who had that. The decor is fun particularly if you're a member of Gen X. One heads up if you're visiting with kids who ask a lot of questions, one entire wall is covered with Playboy covers. The rest is Donkey Kong, Alf, ET, Pee Wee Herman, the Grinch, etc. Service was excellent and everyone was friendly and welcoming to out of towners.

family. when i tell you the kind of cheesesteak snobbery i performed before eating at this place...i showed my true delco/philly side...only to be thoroughly impressed by tristan and his father Lu Vic's version of philly cheesesteak poutine. y'all if could have smuggled anything across the boarder (besides a hockey player or 2) it would have been this meal! I was impressed in a way i was not expecting. The details of flavor, the meat quality...and the fact that i was only shamed slightly for putting ketchup on it which apparently is blasphemous here. the beer was ice cold. the music was phenomenal. the service was really stellar since this is a busy area of old port. Thank you to Lu Vic and the rest of the gang who treated me like a really philly expat!!

Eclectic ambiance with no real theme, but it worked. Good service and mmmm such good food. All the Montréal specialties were on point from the smoked meat (brisket) to the poutine. Mozzarella sticks weren't previously frozen (or didn't taste that way, at least), and portion sizes were good. Two different types of cole slaw were equally good.

Friendly establishment with eclectic decorations, and spot on service. The smoked brisket was fantastic, both as a topping to poutine and piled high on a sandwich. It was juicy and delicious. Lots of cocktails and other beverages, but we chose to wash it down with a pitcher of Unibroue blonde beer, which complemented it perfectly on a warm Montreal summer evening!

Franklins did not disappoint. I ordered the smoked meat poutine and it was delicious. It looks like ham but everyone assured me it was beef brisket. I loved it. The mustard and pickles really make it better. I also have to mention the staff was very nice and patient with me. I had to translate the menu and the waitress helped me a lot. A+ service

    Petit Quebec

Staff was friendly, virgin lemonade with dried lemon was very flavorful and enjoyable and thirst quenching. I had a petit Quebec which I couldn't find online. So it is probably a sandwich special. I am someone prone to go for the specials. That being said. the ingredients were reasonably fine and I like this had some veggies with it but I don't think the combo work. There was lettuce, tomato, smoked meat, other things. I didn't want to order the Philly steak as apparently even though there was wording saying best in Montreal I believe, I came from the Philadelphia area. So. . . Lol The inside has a few retro games- Donkey Kong and some older pinball machine that I forget what it is. Very casual and no long lines. Maybe I should've gone for the longer lines because it was -13 out on this day.

The platter. Quite sad Over pricef

We walked in on a Tuesday supper. The place looked interesting with a terrace and interesting decor. The music was nice. We ordered a couple of beers on tap. They don't have much choice on tap. The owner came over and pushed his smoke meat. He says it was new and not on the menu. We order the platter. Very disappointed. For 30$ u get two slices of dry rye bread and limited amount of beef. I was sure they served us the combo and not the platter. It was sliced thick. I know smoked meat. This wasn't it. The hoagie was ok but slightly bare. Stick to the burgers. Probably

nice day to be out and about in the old city, but be aware that wasps are out in nice weather too and they'll likely want to fight you for your lunch so just go inside and avoid the drama and shrieking and painful end to all that. we initially paused for hydration but after noticing the poutine options went to a full stop to maybe split an order of cheese spuds and since we weren't likely to have a real meal we added some chicken bits. we elected to sit inside after noticing the stripey yellow things flitting about (I am highly allergic)and my lovely bride decided I should sit facing away from the vintage "men's magazine covers" on the wall which is fine because, well, you know... anyway, plenty of water and a respectable portion of curded whets (fries and gravy) with chicken and tip the server like we were having cocktails and we ambled out into the fading sunlight a couple of sated tourists.

We had a lovely time watching the hockey game here! It was 8pm on a Saturday and we had no problem getting a table. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered poutine, a burger, and a sangria. Everything was very moderately priced. The poutine was good, but also not amazing. This was a fun, casual place to watch the game and hang out!

A very American restaurant plopped in the middle of the old city. Blaring music on the outside with an inviting interior and minimal crowd on a Sunday night. Ordered the Poutine ($8.50), Hot Dog ($3), and a draft IPA ($?). Food took a while to come by, though the cook was by his lonesome. Beer came first, and it definitely was not an IPA (after some back and forth, it was determined they didn't change the keg). Poutine is good - basic gravy, curds, and fries - proper balance. Hot dog is okay, heavy on the relish, though the toasted bun was a nice touch. Server was by herself for the night but spent a lot of time with regulars. Fine spot if no crowd and hungry.

    H. Bunny's and mine GoTo place in the old City of Montreal. Great atmosphere, very yummy food, and outstanding bartenders. Jean Francois (pictured) is a great source of information if you're looking for where to go and what to do while in town. He's also very willing do do a few shots of Jamo with you, on the house. If you go to Franklins later in the afternoon, Makenzie will be just as friendly, will also make you the best milkshake in Canada, fully loaded. While enjoying your shake, try the poutine, best in the city.
