j'aime beaucoup la boulangerie Ange. Montreal is in many ways a very French city, a Canadian French city; classic and modern French restaurants are everywhere and so are bakeries and sweets shops. The official language is French Canadian but your school French will hold you well in this city. Ange has very good to great pastries, sandwiches and breads. What I love most about this bakery is the large selection of pastries and they never seem to run out. Service is super friendly smiley you'd think you're in Cali :) , atypical of Montreal. Multiple branches serve hungry patrons like me and whether I've come for a quick bite or desserts to take back to my hotel, I'm always content with the quality of anything I've bought. Love this place and is my go-to for convenient ready to go food anytime of day. Also crave their excellent vegan falafel sandwiches on a crusty baguette. EOY

Boulangerie Ange is conveniently located in the same building as Humaniti Hotel I am staying in during my trip to Montreal. Perfect place to grab some baked good! The selections all on display all looks amazing. They also have specials. I ended up getting 6 plain croissants for $8. Unfortunate you can't mix and match. There are also plenty of seating and there are people staying on their laptops to work and chill. Lines are long in the morning! Luckily it moves fast.

I did not go to this bakery because I was hungry, but just wanted to be in Paris, visiting a gourmet "patisserie". This is indeed a great place to scream quietly with delight, savouring all the array of freshly baked pastries. A feast for the eyes! For Epiphany, which is celebrated 12 days after Christmas, they had loads of galettes frangipane, otherwise known as galette des rois. This is made with two circles of puff pastry, filled with frangipane (sweet almonds, butter, eggs and sugar). Sooo yummy! Believe me, you do not need a reason to indulge. It comes with a crown - which is very traditional. Be careful, when you take your bite, as they contain a small charm, often a porcelain figurine hidden inside the cake. We tried other pastries and have to report - simply delicious. Thumbs up for the cleanliness.

Goooo here! Don't hesitate as they have the best croissants. They also offer a great deal amongst other bakery items.

I took a break from a conference at the Montreal convention center and dropped in on Boulangerie Ange. It's a nice space inside a large office building a few blocks from the convention center. It's big and open. They serve coffee, croissants, fruit tarts, and bread. They also serve premade sandwiches and premade pizza. I also had a latte, croissant, and raspberry strawberry Fruit tart. Everything was very good.

This looks like a corporate bakery at the bottom of an office building, but it's legitimately good! They had a special on large pastries, I got two and carried them through the snow, uphill, over a mile, in the dark, to our AirBNB lol. Both were tasty the bread pudding was many mornings breakfasts and the creme tart was delicious. Their almond croissants were really good too!

I passed by this cafe on the way to Norte a Dame Basilica. I stoped and entered and was attracted to the modern atmosphere right away. The mocha frappe is heaven! I recommend every American traveling here to try any item in the store. Way better than American chain coffee shop.

Pizza with mushrooms and ham was delicious, good crust, sauce, and toppings. Jambon (ham) and Brie baguette was ok, not much cheese or ham. Service ok. Not great amount of seating, better for carryout.

Tres bonne boulangerie il font des chouquettes memorables avec un peu de sucre par dessus. Ca se vend en petit sac assez pour deux. Vraiment un bon choix dans ce coin de la ville.

5 tarts for the price of 3!

So, let me tell you about this delightful place that opened right below the Humaniti complex. It is a modern, bustling boulangerie with tons of delicious goodies, ranging from breads to tarts to quiches to sandwiches to viennoiseries!! I went there today and had a fresh portion of Greek salad with tofu for lunch. The salad was fresh and straightforward (a vinaigrette was offered and declined). I then reviewed the selection of baked goods and settled for the much-recommended Pain Coco (chocolate bread with small pieces of chocolate chips) and 5 small tarts. I took advantage of their promotion, which offered two tarts for free with the purchase of 3! That means 12$ for 5 beautiful, luxurious tarts! Quite a deal! The bread was sliced upon request and packed in a bag for me. I had to patiently wait till the end of the day to try these items, but boy was it worth it... The chocolate bread had a nice chew, with the slight sweetness of dark chocolate enhancing the natural flavor of great bread. The strawberry/raspberry tart was fresh and slighly tart (pun pun pun), with a creamy layer underneath the fruits, just enough to make each bite more rich and silky. The blueberry tart was chuck full of plump and juicy berries resting on the same cream as the strawberry one, albeit slightly sweeter due to the quality of the fruits. The abricot tart was nice and traditional, with a classic almond preparation between the fruits and the shell. The abricots had some acidity which was nicely balanced by the caramelization. The lemon meringue tart was actually quite sweet! The custard was soft, and the meringue nice and light. The maple tart was even sweeter, and probably the most one-dimentional item of the bunch. The tarts all shared the same shell, which was short, sweet and crumbly - perfection in my books! I particularly enjoyed the nice airy design of the place, with attractive seating areas and busy counters. The store had many incentives for returning customers: their loyalty card would get you a "gift" on your 7th visit, free tart on your birthday, etc. That, combined with the quality of the food and more than competitive prices, will definitely make Ange a popular place (perfect for the center of congress!). A pleasure for the eyes and the palate!

I read fellow Yelpers' reviews, and decided to come here since it's close to my Montréal apartment. Quite a large selection of breads, tarts, croissants, paninis, and of course coffee. The apple pastry and croissant were delicious. The cinnamon roll was hard so not so much, and the latte was great. I got 4 delicious tarts for $15.50 including tax, and service was very quick and friendly. No chocobread because that's only for Christmas apparently but did get my daughter pain au chocolat, a great flaky treat she loves. Ambiance is fast foodish but very clean and comfy. Will definitely return soon
