This is a tough review for me to write, and honestly I went back and forth between three and four…read morestars. I recently brought Little Watch Shop a Rolex that needed repair. The crown had fallen off, and there were some additional issues that needed to be addressed. The total repair was around $800. This particular watch is important to me. I bought a new watch when each of my children was born, and this is one of those watches. I purchased it new, still have all the documentation, and have owned it for years. So it has considerably more sentimental value to me than just being a Rolex. The shop itself was professional and communicative. They called me back, kept me informed, and the overall service experience was good. I've dealt with other watch shops that felt inconsistent or even a little sketchy, and I never got that feeling here. Where I'm disappointed is the actual outcome. They weren't able to replace everything with genuine Rolex parts, which I would have strongly preferred, and more importantly, after the repair I was told the watch is no longer water resistant to the point where I should swim with it. That's a pretty significant downside for me. After spending roughly $800 repairing a Rolex, I didn't expect to end up with a watch that I now have to remember to take off before getting into a pool. It changes how freely I can wear a watch that I've worn and enjoyed for years. In hindsight, I probably should have sent it directly to Rolex, particularly given the sentimental value. I may still get a second opinion, although I've already spent the $800. So this is a difficult one. The shop provided good service, communicated well, and I don't have anything negative to say about how I was treated. I'm just disappointed that such an expensive repair left me with a watch that has an important limitation it didn't have before. Four stars for the shop and the service, but probably closer to three stars for how I feel about the end result.

Called to ensure he would be open if the current pandemic situation. Answers the phone with simply "hello". Is this the Watchmaker Specialist?", I ask. "Yes." I then asked if he would be open the next day to drop by with the watches for repair. "No problem. I will be here" he responds. "Excellent. See you tomorrow." Today (the next day), I picked up my 89-year old grandfather to drive 25 miles to his shop. Arrive to the office building, then had to had to show my driver's license to a security guard. It has to be shown to a video camera where they take a picture of your license. Was not crazy about that given identity fraud. But had to do it to gain access to the building. Made our way up to the 7th floor, found the suite, only to find the office locked. Sign on door says call the number. So I do this and again, simply "hello". I let him know we were standing at the front door. "Who's this?", he asks. "A customer" i replied. "Oh, I am not there. I went to get some dinner. Can you wait 30 or 45 minutes?"........ So he wanted my grandfather and I to simply hang out and wait for him. Not very good customer service especially after I called beforehand to verify it was good to come down at that time. Which it was. But he left us in the lurch. We went someplace else. Was not a goid customer service experience.

These guys installed a new battery within minutes. Because they have a great reputation for watch repair, I also left my 30-something-year-old Tag Heuer in their care for a total rebuild. This was a wedding gift, and it is the most prized watch in my collection. The watchmaker here did an excellent job, and even did a pressure test, which is vital -- but not commonly offered with many watch repair services. They offered to replace the band with an in-house version and ultimately a Tag Heuer version, but I declined because I can replace it for a lot less money. I was also hoping they could replace the dial to no avail. Still, these folks know what they are doing, and I plan on giving them plenty of business moving forward.
