I used Eve's after being referred to them by James Avery for engraving quicker than James Avery could deliver and the staff at Eve's was VERY nice and the atmosphere pleasant. I got my engraved item very fast as they said they do it on Saturday's only and it was ready even earlier than expected on Saturday after just dropping it off the day before. It was a very small delicate piece of jewelry so I was concerned but it turned out perfect and as promised. I would definitely use Eve's again for engraving or any other jewelry needs. read more

I happened across Eve's on Bay Area Blvd a few days ago after leaving the nearby Webster/Clear Lake community centre and local polling site. Eve's sign advertising custom work for jewelry immediately caught my attention. Today I returned with about 5 loose gemstones, each of which was between 80-150 carats in size. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The problem arose when I was informed my "special needs," those large gemstones, required the attention of the head lady herself. Unfortunately she was at lunch and, once she returned, would attend to a customer with an appointment in front of me. I waited for 30-40 minutes, entertaining myself by looking at a ongoing computer photo montage of the the store's custom jewelry designs. Eventually it was my turn. I quickly learned my needs, mounting each of my large gemstones as pendants, weren't suited for the type of services Eve's provided. My cost to have Eve's mount one large gemstone, an oval piece of Madeira Citrine, in sterling silver would run around $500 AND would take 6-8 weeks to complete! "The holidays are approaching and we get busy." Having read reviews of Eve's friendly and inexpensive services both on Yelp and YP.com, I was taken aback by both the excessive cost estimate and Eve's disinterest in the business I was offering. An Ok but nothing exceptional display of jewelry in their store BUT the ridiculously expensive quote and "we really don't want to do it" attitude I received today will prevent me from returning. Inexpensive and warm friendly service for some but not from my experience today. read more

I truly do not like giving negative reviews but I have to today. I went in to get a quote on repairs that were needed on an engagement ring we had recently bought from a seller on etsy. In about 30 seconds time one of the ladies barked at me that I needed to return it to the seller because there were repairs that needed to be made that if made there, it would hurt the liability or something like that. When I said it was antique and from the 1800s she looked at me like I had been fooled and said the diamonds are old but I don't think the ring is. (I just got it appraised and it is) I'm not sure how she didn't understand that jewelry can be very sentimental to a person. All this being said, she basically crushed my dreams of having an antique engagement ring and offended the seller who I really appreciated and trusted. The sad part is, I was recommended to go here by a family member but I will not be back, the atmosphere was cold and other jewelry places have been perfectly wonderful. The only thing I could wonder is that she was incredibly busy (with a customer, on the phone, AND talking to me across the counter) and having the worst day. They've lost a customer in me but feel free to go at your own risk. read more
