Found my new bike shop within my area (Downey). At first, I wasn't sure if they serviced road bikes since it appears they mostly had fixies and other single speed bikes on display. So I messaged him directly through Yelp and Vito replied rapidly and assured me he did work on road bikes and even gave me a price estimate. He made sure my bike's Shimano 105 shifting was smooth and precise after I had tried to fix it myself and messed it up. He also replaced a frayed front derailleur wire without even having to remove the bar tape. I've been given bad advice or had bad luck with the other bike shops in the Downey area so it's nice to see one nearby that actually cares. Upon arriving to pick up my bike, he already had it on the work stand to physically show me the rapid gear shifting instead of me having to take it for a ride outside in a small parking lot where I wouldn't be able to test all the gear combinations. Frank's Bicycles is a small shop, yes, but if you're looking to get a quick, cheap reparation for your trusty two-wheeler, I'd heavily recommend heading out to Bellflower. The staff was very congenial and sported a strong sense of professionalism. I was very happy with the speedy service ( it took about five minutes to fix my bicycle). I have taken two bikes here recently. I honestly thought they were both headed for the trash because it would be way to expensive to fix! Nope, for $40 I had one fixed and it was fast and Frank was very friendly. The second bike turned out so good, I wish I had taken a before and after photo! I am disabled so the very small distances I can walk I like to push my son in a stroller. I bought a used "jogging" stroller, but all 3 tires were deflated. I took it to Frank's and Vito not only pumped air into all 3 tires, when he saw my less than good ability to move he unloaded and loaded the stroller into my vehicle. Vito (the owner) is an extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional person who goes out of his way to make sure his customers are 100% happy. Top notch customer service, big product selection, and the best prices around. I had some noise issues with my bike, Vito was able to repair my bike the day I came in and told me that if I still had the same issue to come back and he'll take a look at it again. After a few bike rides the following week, I noticed that my bike still had noise issues but not as loud so I went back and Vito thoroughly checked out my bike once more. It was getting pretty busy in there with a lot of customers coming in yet he was still able to work on my bike, help customers, and make sales simultaneously. After a few test rides, the noise issues were fixed and I was happy. I'm a customer for life now. Thank you once again Vito, keep being amazing! read more

I called the bike place on Santa Gertrudes in Whitter to see if they had the bike that I wanted. They didn't. So next was Frank's in Whittier on Colima. Frank Jr. said to call his dad in Downey, his dad said to call the Bellflower location and they had my bike, but it was a bit far for me and the bike is "too big for me" as I am 5' 4". So I called Frank, Jr. again and said I wanted to order the bike. I came in on the following Friday and ordered it. Small shop with a huge heart! I immediately connected with Frank and his knowledge and helpfulness were what made a HUGE difference. I have my bike on order and can't wait! They are all really good looking bikes and are not that expensive unless it's just brand new in stock! I'm about to get another one of those bigger looking bikes! We spent an afternoon shopping for a bike for my girlfriend. We visited Performance Bike and Jax and a few mom and pop shops before arriving here. This place was awesome!! Vito was very friendly and provided us with lots of info about cruisers which is what she wanted. He made the info easy to understand and let her test ride a few different models. She is happy with the choice she made. Vito even threw in a free U lock! He switched out the seat which had a small stain that would not come off, free of charge!! For some reason my car can't have bike racks attached to it so I'd have to remove the front tire to fit it into the trunk.
